You don't really speed up downloads, the time it takes is dependant on your internet speed and the speed of the website you're getting it from.
There is this which adds a button to open the download in a third party program called Download Accelerator Plus.
I used to use programs like that years ago but didn't notice any real difference in time. They are hand as you can start a download, close Chrome and the download will continue.
I have used Internet Download Manager for this and it is the best. A button will show up alongside whenever there is a video playing; you can just click it and download.
Lads, just switch to rapidshare, it may not be free (around €8 a month), but it is cheap and it's shit loads faster. It will almost always use the absolute full potential of your connection, especially when used in conjunction with DAP.
But the best part is, because it's http downloading and not torrents, it's impossible to track because they cannot distinguish it between any other http downlaod. In order to block it, they'd have to block all browsers.
Also, if you do have it, filestube.com is the best place to search for files, just be sure to check the source of your download, to make sure that you see the password if there is one and that it's in the desired language.
Hey, I Just wanted to let you know about Download Accelerator Plus (DAP), the fastest and easiest download accelerator. DAP gets my downloads done really fast, but it is also packed with many other useful features like downloading videos and watching videos instantly as they download. With the Link Checker feature DAP can show me broken download links I should avoid even before I try to download from them. There are many other great and easy to use features in DAP, I'm sure you will find it very useful. You can download and install it for free from here: http://www.speedbit.com/dap/ Enjoy the speed
I think speedbit's download accelerator plus can do that. http://www.speedbit.com/dap/
Meanwhile, if anyone who comes across this could recommend something that changes download directory based on source url that would be awesome. In fact, source URL and file type. Please, thanks, and sorry if I end up hijacking the thread.
