I made a free service that does this: F5Bot
If you put in some keywords (e.g. your brandname, your url, your competitors) it'll email you whenever someone mentions them on Reddit. It's not very fancy, but it is free. Let me know what you think if you try it.
We have two offices. One in Baton Rouge and one in Hammond. We only hire Louisiana workers and do 0 outsourcing. All development is done in-house as we are a software development company.

Neat. I built a similar free service last week: F5Bot. It only monitors social media such as Reddit and Hacker News, though.
Your service sounds good. Will you make a way for users to configure their own accounts? Do you have any plans to monetize it, or are you going to keep it free?
Where all does it monitor?

Timeliner is not for synchronization, just storing and organizing all your media locally on your own computer. It does support Google Photos' API, and also Takeout archives (the Takeout archives are necessary for location EXIF data).
Curious whether you could use something like https://f5bot.com/docs to automate this. I have no connection to that project, just find it useful.

Personally, I wouldn't focus the class on the language itself - the whole point of the language is that it gets out of the way so you can focus on your application logic. So I'd want to teach some other thing primarily, and use zig as an implementation detail. Networking, database storage systems, operating systems, graphics, games, I'd want to teach one of those things.

It's completely free. There are options to monitor for a keyword on a specific subreddit, or across all of Reddit. You'll normally get notices within a few minutes.
Google alerts doesn't really work anymore, unfornately.

I don't have a solution for monitoring the web at large yet.

The ruTorrent/NZBget functionality should be easy to implement either via the normal download feature (using xdg-open) or custom hints which spawn an application.
As for LastPass, there's the qute-lastpass userscript.
You should also know, that Google alerts is mostly broken and doesn't work well anymore. If you don't believe me, I encourage you to try it out and compare to a competing product. You'll find that Google alerts misses most stuff. (It's important to compare it to another product, otherwise you won't know what it's missing.)
It's for that reason that I created a Reddit keyword alert service a couple years ago. It worked well for me, so I put it online for others to use too. It's called F5Bot, and it's free. It only works on a few social media sites, though, not the whole internet.

I found that Google Alerts worked very poorly for monitoring Reddit. GA would either miss mentions or be days behind. So I wrote my own tool, F5Bot, for monitoring Reddit. Since I'd already made it for myself, I also put it up for anyone else to use for free. I'm still adding features, but for now it'll send you an email as soon as your keyword is mentioned on Reddit.
Google Alerts is terrible for monitoring Reddit. You'd have better luck with a service designed just for monitoring Reddit. Maybe give F5Bot a try? It's free. </shameless plug>
