Ok, to clarify, my set up is as follows: -
Samsung Galaxy S (original, running Darky ROM)
ISO File of my PSX Disc for THPS2
Now this specific game has some issues (mainly sound track gets slow/choppy, when you hit air) , but I attribute that to my phone not coping with the emulation and am working on the compatibility via the forum. Otherwise, it's creamy smooth.
Abes Odysee is perfect btw and so much more fun now I actually understand the core concept of the game.
FPSE has come a long way since it first came out:
I'd say it's the most improved app that I personally use. There are various settings like frameskip and framelimiter that make it work flawlessly for most games. And for a while now it's had an OpenGL plugin that you can install that increases the quality of the graphics immensely.
The official forum is a bit of a mess imo, but it is helpful if you're looking for help:
The emulator ran great on my Moto Triumph which has a single core 1GHZ processor and a mid-range GPU. Now that I have an HTC Evo V (same as the Evo 3D) with a dual core chip, it runs even better.
Keeps crashing on my phone... even when i load up the bios. Nexus one here...
EDIT: It does in fact work.. and seems to do a great job. Check here for a compatibility list.
I haven't tried this myself, but it should work.
If you have a PSP you can connect it to your PS3, then transfer the save over to the PSP. Once it's on there you can connect the PSP to a PC/laptop to copy the save and use something like this to convert it: http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=445
This is gonna sound stupid, but try just plugging it in with the USB cable. Unless you don't have a USB OTG.. Hm. This guy seemed to make it work with some setting that made it act as if it was plugged in. I lack a ps3 controller to do any more than googling, unfortunately.
the FPse forums have game specific tips for maximizing performance (but not all tips are applicable to the android version). Here is the list of games:
Yeah, n64oid is a bit sketchy as far as what it plays.
Someone has actually cracked the official emulator. I haven't tried it, but I heard you basically have to pull apart the crash bandicoot apk that comes with the phone, then slap another iso in. Here's some instructions if anyone is interested. It should let you use the pads for some games.
