I use Free Video Editor a lot. All it does is remove unwanted portions of videos, but it does so without re-encoding, so it's very fast.
for those who are recording games, i have found that this tool is pretty easy and good for editing out the commerical breaks without messing up the audio. It is also free.
I use free video editor. It makes lossless cropping VERY easy with a no brainer visual editor. Just be careful when you install it since it begs you to install a bunch of other crap but it doesnt force anything on you. VERY nice tool.
I, too, will have a TAGSync within a few months, hopefully! Can't wait to get started!
Assuming you have Windows:
Here's a good free one, but it can't record from input devices which would be helpful if you're comfortable recording w/voice.
This is another great one is, probably the best free screen recorder I've used IME.
For a video editor, Windows Movie Maker, which comes with Windows by default, is likely adequate. If wanting to splice/trim a single video, I might look at this.
Thank you a ton, if you do do this. I'm sure I could find documentation somewhere, but I'd probably have to wait until the semester is over, and who wants to do that. :P
its called free video editor, heres a link http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-Dub.htm#.VCrsYldseEc It only trims clips and thats it, lets say you have a 3lap race, you can trim the ends of fine but if you wanted to take out the 2nd lap you would end up with 2 clips (lap1 and 3)...i used youtube editor to splice 2 clips together here http://youtu.be/EfrqnYNUk4o and the qualitiy is perfect but you have to upload each clip on its own.
