Looks legit to me, when searching for gog galaxy the link you mentioned is one of the first that show up. I tried the url GogGalaxy.com which simply redirects you to Gogalaxy.com - the one we are talking about here. I'm pretty confident that this is legit.
Did I understand you correctly that you are able to log in to your GOG account via GOG.com, but the GOG GALAXY app is not working properly for you? I would suggest doing a clean install of the app and downloading it again via gogalaxy.com and see if that helps.
Above the "Search GitHub" input, there should be a header that say "COMMUNITY INTEGRATIONS". Furthermore, with a clean installation there should automatically be several community integrations appearing. https://imgur.com/a/YJshWeW
What you are experiencing is definitely a bug. You should submit a bug report (cog-wheel menu -> report issue) so that it can be fixed.
What might be worth trying is downloading the installer from gogalaxy.com, and running it (no need to uninstall first) to repair your installation.
Download should download in the background when app us running and apply upon restart. If it does not update for you please download the installer from gogalaxy.com and apply it.

Welcome on board! :)
I definitely recommend TW3, so far the best game I've played (I would even recommend skipping other parts if you don't love them after a few hours), it sucked me in like no other game. Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Hotline Miami 1, Superhot, Samorost 3/Botanicula are also games I personally enjoyed a lot on GOG.
Make sure to check out GOG GALAXY 2.0 if it looks good for you - https://gogalaxy.com/
See you around!
You can register for the 2.0 Beta to see if what they'll be offering is worth it to you, but it isn't necessarily better in its current form over the website, other than the download manager and being able to verify game installs and roll back versions easily. My only complaint is it's slower to launch than steam, but I think 2.0 will also be doing some streamlining in that department. Edit: Also achievements need Galaxy in order to register them. I've loaded games with Galaxy that I hadn't previously and it synced a bunch of achievements once I loaded a save.
