Steam users have been reviewing the game negatively on Steam to lower the review score, attempting to deter any new buyers and make a statement about why it was a bad idea.
Not all games like that are bad. Subnautica was an Early Access Open World Survival and Crafting game that ended up getting a full release to great reviews.

It's high fantasy instead of high camp, but Pyre sounds a lot like what you're looking for.
With passing, offensive and defensive moves, different point totals for scoring via throw or body slam, and the unique gameplay tweak of having a banishment aura that disappears when you have the ball, the game is a tight series of team fights with a fantasy ruleset that has surprising depth.
Here are three known workarounds:
1) Go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/ and see your purchased history
2) Change Detail view to "Recent" under library, it'll show the game in purchased order. BUT it shows your ENTIRE library, not just installed ones. Steam beta only.
3) Change library view to List View, and sort the games by Last Played. It'll list the games in purchased order.

While you could certainly optimize them more, I'd argue that this type of graph just doesn't work that well with a big number of items that are full of spikes.
If you keep the number of entries low and only have slow gradual changes it works great, like these, but once it gets more complex, separate line charts might be more appropiate.
"inspired by the classics DOOM, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior and Serious Sam" - My problem with all the new games that want to copy the classics is they allways focus on just shooting and gore in their pitch. They forget all those games listed above have some of the best and BRILLIANT LEVEL DESIGN ever. You can run around in Blood and Duke Nukem for 10-15 minutes like an idoit, then you break a wall, and it turns out you didn't move ten meters. They used little space they had to it's maximum potential. So, a flat area with a bunch of enemies in this video is too little to impress me (I know it's just a survival arena).

Where is AMD a real competitor exactly ? They are using the same architecture since 2012 (GCN) with no new one in sight (Nvidia has gone through Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal and now Volta, in the same timespan).
AMD is finally being a competitor to Intel again on the CPU market, but not to Nvidia on GPUs.

It's a fine point, but this is actually incorrect. Every time you loaded any page, you'd be given a completely different cached page. It wasn't the same user. Clicking that button takes you to https://store.steampowered.com/account/, which always ended up being a different account. *Edit: This is of course a worse problem, as you'd get a new account's personal info every time you hit refresh.
It always bugs me when TB makes little mistakes like this, since he always talks as if he's an authority on everything, yet he makes silly little mistakes that show he really isn't paying attention.

Again, he's talking as if you're logged into one account. The reality was, every single page you viewed on steampowered.com was generated for the previous person. So every page you went to, it was logged in as someone else. Go to the account page and keep hitting refresh, you'll keep getting account after account after account. Go to the checkout page and hit refresh, same thing. Go to the cart page, any page, go to buy Skyrim, it doesn't matter, you get a different account every single page load. Refresh, Russian, refresh, German, refresh, English, refresh, Korean. You're not viewing one guy's cart from his account page, then going to that one guy's checkout page.

But I'm a VR developer and here's a GIF from an app I'm working on called Bigscreen. It lets you use your computer on huge floating screens in VR (Oculus Rift or HTC Vive). Watch movies, browse reddit, or play your favorite Steam games. It also has Multiplayer, which this GIF shows. Up to 4 people can hangout in a virtual living room, with voice chat and screen streaming.
This basically enables "virtual LAN parties" in VR. Hangout, watch movies, or play games with your buddies across the country. Like real LAN parties, you can collaborate/strategize, screen peek / cheat, or just hangout. It's hard to explain how cool and immersive this feels in VR. Hope I'm not breaking some sub rule by sharing this, but I figured you guys might think it's cool!

So I bought DayZ Standalone when it was first released on Steam because Early Access was a new thing, and I had hopes that one of my favourite games/mod would have a fully supported standalone version(500 hours on Arma 2).
Since Valve has finally addresed our rights as consumers in Australia, I've been granted a full refund 4 years after I purchased it. It might help that I only had 21 minutes playtime, but I'm finally glad that the developers of that scam of a game will lose my money.
PSA to all Australians. Stand up for your rights.
EDIT: Let me just say that you can't just abuse this and refund whatever you want. But we are now entitled to a refund past the 2 hour/14 day mark if the game is completely unplayable or falsely advertised ^^^like ^^^dayz.
EDIT2: FYI, I kept getting refund requests bouncing back after 10-30 minutes using the refund system, and well I don't believe for a second that a real Valve employee checks the requests. So I sent another ticket about my account and not directly linked to a purchase and a real person responded.

1) Deck should be comparable in performance to base PS4/Xbox One S. Both in handheld and Docked mode. There is no Switch like boost when docked. It runs at full power even on battery

5) You can but you will have to "sideload them", aka do it outside of the SteamOS sandbox/interface. SteamOS features full desktop environment.

By not trying to use Steam for non-Steam games. It doesn't work how you think it does.
I completely understand how a new user would have constantly heard about Proton so they think they need Proton to run all their Windows games. You don't. Proton is for Steam games, and Steam games only. For non-Steam games, you use Lutris.
Install Lutris, then go to https://github.com/lutris/docs, follow the instructions for "Wine Dependencies" and "Installing Drivers."
Then start installing games. You can go to https://lutris.net and find your game there and click "Install," or you can just open Lutris and go to the left pane and click on Lutris under Sources and search for whatever non-Steam game you want to install. Then click Install.
Every vcrun and other windows component that games need, Lutris automatically installs for you. Steam cannot do that for non-Steam games, so even if you get this game to work by using protontricks, you'll have to do it every time (and most times you don't get a handy popup telling exactly what you need). So yeah. Use Lutris.

It depends on the game - on average I would say no, not yet. Sometimes you find a title that has better performance (for me it was e.g. Bioshock 2 Remastered) or installs and works when on Windows it didn't (for me it was Disciples 2).

I just wanted to try something different so I created another partition on my SSD with Linux (Zorin OS). Also I want to get rid of Windows. The game runs very good so far, I also get very nice FPS... should be the same like with Windows.
Installation is also pretty straight forward:
- Just install a Linux distibution (I installed Zorin OS, just because im not very familiar with Linux and it's an easy to use distribution if you come from Windows). It will install almost everything you need (drivers etc.). First I installed it on a HDD with Star Citizen but you really feel a performance gain with a SSD so better install everything on a SSD!
- Install Lutris. Basically its a community project that makes it very easy to get Windows games running on Linux. You just search a game, for example Star Citizen and it will run community created scripts which install everything you need for a specific game.
- "Furthermore, to prevent crashes at areas with lots of geometry, the game needs a Linux resource limit named "vm.max_map_count" increased. To do this, execute: sudo sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=16777216"
- Then after you just started RSI Launcher and downloaded everything you have to copy /home/yourname/Games/star-citizen/drive_c/Program Files/Roberts Space Industries/RSI Launcher/d3dcompiler_47.dll to /home/yourname/Games/star-citizen/drive_c/Program Files/Roberts Space Industries/StarCitizen/LIVE/Bin64 and overwrite the old file. I had bad shader problems without this.

I read somewhere, I think it was in the book "Portal 2 - The Final Hours", that a representative of Valve visited the DigiPen fair to scout for talent and projects. The representative saw ND and told the team that he wasn't that interested in the project. The ND team called or emailed him the next day asking him why he didn't like it and how to improve it. They got invited to the Valve office to show the game again and get some advice. When they demoed the game Gabe walked by, saw the game and hired them on the spot.

For the people asking how to see this, you will need the Enhanced Steam extension, and then simply head over to "account details" on the Steam website, and you will see it in the right-hand pane.

If you head over to this page there is a couple of things you can do to improve that.
The first would be to go to the "Tags to Filter Out" section, and in your case, add tags like Visual Novel and Anime, and that'll filter out a lot of those sorts of games. The downside is, you can only put 3 tags in there, so you can't block a wide range of stuff.
However, you can also customise your Discovery Queue better by going to Discovery Queue Preferences lower on the page, and then click on "Customise Discovery Queue", and then exclude whatever tags you don't want to appear in your Discovery Queue. It's really helped clear out a lot of those games from my steam store, and I barely notice them anymore.
EDIT: The filter isn't storewide, as /u/7Soul pointed out, but it will stop it from appearing in places like your front page, new recommended games and your discovery queue, which should help a bit.
I have been dealing with this crap for a year now because for some reason steam decided I really want to play this shitty MMORPG made in Korea but available only in US and throws it into every queue I try to complete. But there are 2 ways I have found to deal with this BS and refresh your queue.
Once you get that error and you can't start another queue because it starts with that same region locked game, just go to steam store main page. Open any game from the front page and press "View Your Queue" button in bottom right corner. You'll go to "Your Discovery Queue" page, press "Start another queue" there. Once again it will give you same error that game is not available in your region. After that go to store page again, scroll down to your queue and it will be refreshed and you can continue. But there's a good 99% chance your last game in queue will be the same region locked crap, so you'll have to repeat this procedure again.
Another way to fix it. When steam gives you this error page right click anywhere on the screen and choose "Copy Page URL", paste it anywhere and it will give you AppID of the game. For example steam gives me this https://store.steampowered.com/app/296300 . After that go to https://steamcommunity.com/app/*AppID* (replace AppID with the numbers that you got from your URL) and follow that community. It will remove that game from your queue and it won't appear there again until you unfollow it. This method not the best, following the game that you'll never be able to play and might not even like is not really a good solution and if there're multiple region locked games in your queue you'll have to do the same thing for all of them.
I just took a short video then clipped it and used Photoshop to turn it into a seamless loop.
If you mean actually use it as a wallpaper? DesktopHut / Dreamscene / Wallpaper Engine are alright, there might be better around.

If you're looking for a new RTS you may want to check out Northgard, it's 25% off right now; I wrote my thoughts on it here- essentially, it's a fast paced and very well polished Viking RTS that's currently in Early Access. The devs are quite active when it comes to updating the game- their next update will introduce the game's campaign mode.
GameRoom seems to be exactly that, but I haven't tried it yet.
I'll give it a go and see if it's worth getting.
EDIT: It's fairly unpolished, and annoying to manage with a large library. It does do what it says, though, and it syncs up your library from every launcher really well. It does a really good job scanning your drives for games too, it was a pretty quick set up. It even finds all the steam games you don't have installed. Like I said before though you need to confirm the cover art and details for every game that you own, and it takes quite a while to go through that.
I really like the sorting options, though. It lets you sort by genre, theme, series, Metascore, release date and more. Given some more polish and some UI options like controller and fullscreen support, this could very well be exactly the app needed to finally have just one launcher for everything.

Linux is pretty easy to use in 2021 but you do have to have some familiarity with computers in a general sense.

This where the derelict Nostromo was docked, awaiting Amanda to retrieve it's black box. But the flight recording wasn't the only thing that came aboard from the Nostromo...
Alien, Alien: Isolation, and Aliens is my head canon trilogy for this series. Screw the rest and Ridley Scott trying his best half ass the franchise.

I know there's forever a /r/futurism style fetish over any new tech presented with an infomercial style "with this simple advancement a indie studio improved their villager NPCs in two steps", but AI in games topic just keeps coming up, year after year and people expect it to turn up and overhaul every aspect of game production.
Funny how no one ever mentions AI war in these discussions, which is meant to be extremely hard because the learning AI doesn't hold back.

For those of you who may not be familiar with gaming on linux, lutris takes over the steam client's job. It will launch games, manage and launch wine versions, and execute scripts which might be needed for a game to run.
Ok I read all your responses and I think I can clarify some of your confusion.
Your brother plays on Steam. Steam is an online digital platform used for playing games that are compatable with it. It makes PC gaming extremely simple without needing to use Physical mediums like CDs. Everything is built in internally from the programs used to run Steam compatable games to a Steam store used to purchase games from a library of thousands of titles.
You can purchase gift codes for all games on Steam including the Payday content you were asking about. Simply go to the Steam store and search for Payday 2. This page will pop up displaying the base game, the game of the year edition as well all the DLCs that have been released to date which you can purchase separately.
There are currently 26 DLCs (including 3 soundtracks) since the release of Payday 2. It seems like much but this year alone we have had 4 sales which have varied from 50% to 75% and even 90% off at times. The community is predicting another such sale will occur later this month or early October in celebration of CrimeFest, which is a Community event created by the Developers at Overkill Software (Payday creators) to get fans involved and create new playerbases. This is not a DLC nor a purchase, it is something all members can participate in for free.
If you purchase all content right now it is probably cheaper to buy the Game of the Year edition and all the separate DLCs from 2015-present. If you wait for the sale, purchasing them individually actually saves a few dollars. During the sale you can most likely purchase the game and all DLC for roughly $30-$40. If you purchase not during a sale it can cost upwards of $100-$120.
The Croteam bundle is the best deal at 83% off, as it has all Serious Sam games and Talos Principle for $35. Also, if you have some of the games already, usually you get an additional discount applied when you upgrade to the bundle.

It's certainly often used for the wrong things, but it works well if your data only contains a few types and change happens gradually without any spikes, like these.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but steam is 13+, while TF2 is 17+. If I hear a squeaker in the chat, I will indeed issue a votekick on them. I will mute them if it doesn't pass and if they're being exceptionally annoying(micspaming, swearing, etc). There are some people under the required ages for the game that can be respectful and helpful to the team, but normally they are just an annoyance and a hindrance to the rest of the players.
Not just that, but the driver thing.
You're going to have to install a different driver if you have an Nvidia card. There is no way around it. The Nouveau driver, which is the open source driver for Nvidia, is garbage compared to the current Nvidia driver. Which, means that you're probably going to have to break into the command line. I know that Cannonical only supplies version 390, and Nvidia currently has a 396 version for Linux.
With that being said, its okay to tinker, in fact you should. I'm in Linux right now, and things like DXVK and Lutris have made things interesting. I can get a few Windows games to run flawlessly right now, so things are definitely getting interesting.
Doesn't change the fact that some Linux ports are just horribad and the Nvidia driver currently pales in comparison to its Windows counterpart.
While still pretty simple, there are only two games I can think of that are more complicated than just grabbing two things and using them. Wayward has everything you ever craft become more realistic (complicated), where even starting a fire takes about 8 components and multiple attempts. My Time at Portia has you smelt down the ores, then shape them at cutters, grinders, etc. before piecing together the items.
This one we finished a couple months ago, and can be played using a traditional keyboard and mouse or a full VR setup. Works great in the Vive :)
It's clear to me that most people do not understand what Early Access actually means.

They did remake it. RealMyst is a full 3d environment now.

BfA 8.1 is working flawlessly for me (and my others), thanks to Vulkan and the project DXVK. Approximately a 5% fps lost. Love it.

This is closest to your #2, although we would obviously put a more positive spin on it (e.g., we don't think of our avatar items as "cosmetic crap", but rather an important way to express yourself in Rec Room!)

I don't think the privacy changes Valve made affects the daily player count statistics as it is publicly available data as seen here, so the decrease in average daily player count is likely accurate.
If it has been less than one year, and you are an Australian citizen, you are entitled to a full refund.
If you submit a request, don't do it the way where you select the game you want to refund because it will just automatically be rejected. Start a new support ticket under a different contact option about your account, and let them know that all games come protected by ACL.

Project Ascension came from the drama of Steam charging for Skyrim mods. From what i saw, the team seems to be too ambitious and not organized at all. Though I would love to be proven wrong.
GOG Galaxy will likely get a Linux port. It's likely just not available for now.
You should check out lutris. It's open source and is made for Linux. I haven't used it though, but looks good.

Instead of Audioshield, I'd recommend picking up either Soundboxing or Holodance. Both aren't as well known as Audioshield but are quite a bit better in my opinion. Audioshield was nice as a launch game but it's very bare-bones.
Soundboxing has a great in-game editor and uses user-created beatmaps instead of automatic ones. Currently my most played VR game and a great workout.
Holodance has a lot of customization and game modes with the developer pushing out lots of great content updates. It can do Osu beatmaps as well as Audioshield-style automatic beatmaps.
Short of checking your email for the gift (Search for "received a gift"), there is no history afaik. You can see the game was a gift, on your licences page but there are details about who gave the gift.

Something I didn't realize for a long time is that TW is really more about the actual battles. It's never really been very strategic (well, maybe in a couple of them), and strategy has always seemed to play second fiddle to the tactical/battle map play.
If you want a game that is 100% battle map, try the hegemony series.
The series is kind of the answer to "What if you could transition from strategy to tactical map seamlessly". It's not a perfect game, but it is fun.
I don't see the issue here. If you go to Wal-Mart, Bestbuy or any store that carries a variety of products you see tons of crap. Yet we hardly know anyone that buys them, if we do its that one friends that 'waste his money on junk'

Seriously do a tiny amount of research before you buy a product. In today age you can whip out a phone and Goolge anything to get a decent idea of its worth your money.
Biggest issue I have is this is no different in the real world. We have to be educated shoppers to avoid scams, rip-offs and bad products. Yet we ask Steam to have higher standard? What are we teaching ourselves? That we are too lazy to do a minuscule amount of research or self-thought?
I don't believe assets flippers are an issue cause I've never seen them on my front-page and never seen one that has sold a worrying amount AND Steam has refunds...

Can't recommend any books but Life is Strange is fantastic and I think it would be very enjoyable for non-gamers.
Make sure to stay away from the Facebook page and only watch the first trailer on the Steam store page as the other trailers have spoilers.
I got hooked at the end of Life is Strange's second episode and that seems to be common over on /r/lifeisstrange. There are some tedious parts in the middle of episode 2 but play through them.
