The chairs all fall the same when you roll through them. Roll. Rolling. Wheels roll. Gavlan wheel, Gavlan deal. Gavlan has a hidden base of operation within the gutter, proven by the existence of a wheel within. "You want deal?" Gavlan is a drug dealer, for obvious reasons that I don't need to specify he clearly works for the Rotten. Together they manufacture illegal catnip and sell it to Shalquar, granting her immortality. Shalquar. Cat. Immortal. Protoss. Unbalanced. Cheese. Swiss cheese. This image of Swiss cheese has exactly three complete holes. Three. Holes. Portal three. Half life three confirmed.
Holy shit, I read about this in the guide but I completely forgot about it. It says a special non aggro pig can spawn, which is probably easier than getting an angry one to follow you.

Here's the fix for the "Already in your cart" error. Open the store page in your browser, and when the error message pops up, open the following link in a new tag and proceed to buy it. Mine is currently downloading right now! https://store.steampowered.com/checkout/?purchasetype=self
The soul memory cap is 15m, this is something I've done extensive testing on. Someone who is 15m can summon and be summoned by 500m, invade or be invaded by, etc.
The calculators are completely wrong, SM uses a tier-based system. More information on one of my testing projects here-

I bought them, actually! These guys do incredible work. There's also a badass Artorias that I have over my desk.

These are the smaller of the two sizes available. Support these awesome artists!
That is actually a rip of Crowsmack's design on Etsy. They do amazing work, some of which is Dark Souls stuff.

Fun fact: it is intended to be pronounced the same as one pronounces "sumo" (as in "sumo wrestling") in Japanese (which is not how you say it in English): 相撲

mother fuckers.
I'm pretty sure he stole the Lordvessel, you can see it's smashed pieces in the back of the mansion. He broke it and released the souls of the great lords which is why NG+ great bosses souls are called Old Witch's soul (Witch of Izalith), Old Paledrake's soul (Seeth the Scaleless), The Old Dead One's soul (Nito), and the Old King's Soul (Gwyn). http://www.ign.com/wikis/dark-souls-2/Is_Dark_Souls_2_a_Sequel
While I can't comment or speculate on the lore too much I did want to point out a few mistakes in your orienteering.
I edited a couple of the images to show you what I mean.
I assume you are talking about the bottom pink building shown on the map outlined in green on my edit.
If you look at the map and the screen capture you can get a solid fix on where the camera is at (orange dot) and it's facing (blue arrow). To help verify this you can use the general shape of the obelisk and it's location on the map along with the direction of the waves rolling in (red arrow) since they will roll in toward the coast. The last thing to look at is the geography of the land as it runs out of the town down the coast on both the screenshot and the map (yellow arrow).
Given that, I would put those ruins in the screenshot in the vicinity or direction of the purple spot on my map edit.
Again, not calling bullshit to the rest of your theory because, hey, it's just speculation either way but I can say with confidence that those ruins are not on the map. So take no offense, just wanted to point that out is all.
That is a super interesting site! Look at this: https://steamdb.info/app/236430/graphs/
We can change the time-scale of the graphs on the page. If we set it to six months: http://i.imgur.com/rYPfI1Q.png
This graph shows the number of people playing Dark Souls 2 on the PC online over the past six months. It kinda gives an idea of how many people actually bought the DLCs as well since you can see peaks immediately following the DLCs' releases. However, those peaks have been getting smaller, meaning fewer people online, and, most likely, fewer purchases of the DLCs overall. Personally, I would not try to extrapolate from this exactly how many people bought the DLCs, but we can definitely see that the popularity of Dark Souls 2, on the PC at least, is waning.
.
BTW, anybody else install GeDoSaTo and enjoying the darker atmosphere? How about trying to run through the game with a torch to help you see? So far, I'm loving the tension that builds while wading in to the dark with a torch held high above my head to fend off the dark.
I've heard rumors that some of the ultra heavy weapons have hyper armor on them now, but I cannot confirm or deny this ATM.
Also, a lot of stunlocks have been nerfed (the video is from nico nico, so it may take some time to load).
We do not attempt to be omniscient gods, decreeing "justice" upon all those we encounter. The world is not black-and-white and we cannot know everyone's story. In a world like Drangleic, there is no right and there is no wrong. There can only be friendship. Co-operation.
I do not know who you are, who you have been and who you will be. It does not matter to me. But you have called for my help and I will answer. You are, have been, and will always be one thing: my friend.
https://www.twitch.tv/mautrea has done it and Im certain there are plenty more. I am not even sure what gender Emarrel is and I assume many know her/him. But as always, I don't think gender really matters that much in terms of how gud can a person git in video games.
i found some testing done here
but the issue is: it lasts 30 seconds, so you'll have to hit them with it twice, if at all, and it dosen't combo with any elements, or anything....
i really like this idea, as i love to use this on pure phys builds in PVE a lot. (really speeds up vednrick, ancient dragon, and mirror knight) but with how you'd have to cast it, and the way it gives your strategy away...
the MOST you can hope for is to counter their Numbness, wich a few more seconds might do anyways, if you can run from it...
Keep lookin' man! i hope you find somethin'
Here, all it took was a google. People on this sub forget google exist.
Look, https://steamdb.info/app/335300/. As you can see this game doesn't have VAC enabled. If you got softbanned then you probably: edited stats (ANY stats), used infinite consumables, had items that you shouldn't have (not unlocked certain area, not killed certain boss etc). I believe that you haven't done any of this and got softbanned. It's unlikely but possible. When From Software started banning people (August 2014) randoms ban wasn't big issue, since the more characters you have the less chance being softbanned. So a lot players who even spawned items and edited stats managed to avoid all waves. But at this moment most players has only 1-2 characters and for this reason they have more chances being softbanned than they had back in DS2 by doing the same thing: spawning items (even red orbs for low SM agape builds).
When you start SoFS they check your savedata and flag your account for softban if something there isn't okay.
It short: you can’t get softbanned for DS2fix. You have more chances being banned for nothing than for using DS2fix. Because It’s just not possible to detect DS2fix. DS2fix doesn’t record anything to your savedata.
"As I experience some difficulty getting past this stone man, I'm told that certain enemies will only respawn near each bonfire a certain number of times, which the PR rep estimates to be about 15. However, you'll need to actually kill them rather than simply respawn at the bonfire for this counter to increase. The developers made this change to stop you from grinding; with no enemies to gather souls from to then spend on levelling up, you are eventually forced to venture into dangerous, unknown territory."
To be frank: By that logic Dark Souks 1 should have been made by a "team b". As no one in FromSoft who worked on Demon's Souls worked on Dark Souls 1.
For reference:
Demon's Souls: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/954345-demons-souls/credit
Dark Souls 1
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/606312-dark-souls/credit
If you dig in further, more people on both of these teams had never been credited for other developments. Meaning this was their first real development.
I'm sorry, but people who subscribe to the "team b" nonsense are simply ignorant to how large developers manage their titles and time. It isn't as simple as people like to think.
The slightly changed lighting in some of the pictures is from a third-party program called "f.lux" which softens the brightness of your monitor late at night.
I thought it actually contributed to the atmosphere of Majula, so I left them as they were.
You can find f.lux here if you're interested: https://justgetflux.com/
Dark Souls isn't the most difficult game out there, sure, but saying that it's not difficult is nonsense. Go play any AAA title and tell me that Dark Souls isn't ten times harder than most games nowadays. It's difficult but fair (most of the time).
10 hours is also crazy fast. OP, did you go in totally blind? I kinda doubt that someone could complete their first playthrough that fast with no help whatsoever. The average completion time, with a sample size of 220, is 49h12m.
For me, it's because of this extremely well written blog post : https://web.archive.org/web/20140329014158/http://jcwigriff.com/2014/03/20/dark-souls-2-takes-place-in-lordran-lore/

"There is definitely potential [for DLC]," he explained. "Again, it's all about fan feedback. Right now we are concentrating on completing what we've got, but I think there are next steps on how we can expand on Dark Souls 2.
"So I'm not really ready to say look forward to more information, but I think the potential is definitely there."
FYI: 'As Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki told me in an interview, "If I remember correctly, it was about February or March 2012 when we began working on Artorias in earnest."' So, ~5-6 months development time for AotA starting with whatever assets were left on the cutting room floor from the base game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHW9jW_kZhM). Somewhat close to the development time of the upcoming DLCs if the development team started working on them once DaS2 went gold.
Thanks for your well-reasoned posts. There's just too much misinformation and assumptions being bandied about regarding these upcoming DLCs.
I use either Shadowplay, which is a thing tied to NVIDIA graphics cards; or OBS, which is a very nice, open source, streaming/recording program.
The warped sword is pretty nice, I've always liked curved swords the most. I think that the spin attack is sort of slow for my liking, but it always does an absurd amount of damage if I ever land it.
We should set it up, yes. It would probably be a good thing to remove the unused lines from the NPC pages when it's done, too, right?
I know of some unused items, too. I think this Gamefaqs post has all that can be gathered from the text dumps.
Though two of the Illusory Rings and the Barrel had their pictures in stats tracking website and they've been ripped, but there seems to be no way to obtain them in game.
Yes, the English release of Berserk was handled by Dark Horse comics, so you should be able to buy Berserk in any store that has a decent manga selection. I got mine at Barnes and Noble.

Hi.
As per your own screenshot: "Content from dianany.com, a known malware distributor..."
This means someone linked something from dianany.com on the chatroom > and since dianany.com is blacklisted by Google these kind of warnings show up. The content is not added to the wiki nor is your computer in danger unless you are visiting dianany.com.
With over 2000 active users in the chat constantly, it's impossible for us to ban every domain Google blacklists from the chat - the warnings are not about the wiki, which is certified secure by daily scans: http://app.webinspector.com/public/reports/23440647
It would seem these kinds of threads are usually quick to come up on Reddit as a form of fear mongering, instead of contacting us or doing a search for site security: https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdarksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com
I hope they release some DLC in the future but iirc they said there would be no DLC this time around because they were releasing a full game. Does this mean there are no plans for a DLC or just that the DLC from DkS was cut content that didn't make it to the final game, I'm not sure.
edit: nvm, I'm hyped now
moar giants pls.
I would recommend trying this site to see if your laptop can actually run it http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
DS2 is extremely well optimized, so even if your laptop isn't great, it still may run pretty well, but don't let that stop you from getting it on the console you want it on.
Best post ever: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
All SM tiers/matchmaking guidelines spelled out explicitly. Reddit sub should really have this table or link stickied or perma linked on the sidebar.
OP I wanted to post that apparently moving your save data to the cloud will fix the problem. My friend only moved her save data and now she's all
>Omg I could kiss you.
Thanks OP, you may have gotten me laid. B)
I did not move anything but the save. I also made a topic on gamefaqs to help confirm.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693332-dark-souls-ii/70205452
There was an article where some "insider" said the early game development ran way too slow and then From released an official statement that was typically vague and didn't specifically address any one issue. Just that changes had to be made.
You could've linked to it.
Edit: Ok I just read it, he has some reasonable points; mainly the passing tedium off as difficulty which is one of my main complaints about DkS2 in comparison to the first one. Most of his complaints come down to ignorance and the modern expectation of being handed everything on a silver platter.
To be perfectly honest, I can't say the review is unreasonable, it's just ignorant, which in turn makes it a bad professional review but I can see his points being made through the eyes of a person who's used to most games in the recent market.
I remember hearing that simply cannot happen due to licensing. Hopefully someone with a better memory than me can expand on why DeS2 is impossible. I'll edit my post if I can dig up the source.
Edit: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/demon-s-souls-2-no-chance-atlus-says/1100-6418028/
I used the Fire Longsword and the Sorceror's Staff for a really long time. The Fire Longsword is really versatile and the fire component of the damage scales with your Int. You don't get a better staff for a while. The Witchtree Branch is maybe slightly better than the Sorceror's I don't know if it's worth upgrading unless you want to use miracles. If you get lucky you can get a Staff of Amana but I never got one to drop. You should infuse your staff/catalyst with Magic (not Enchanted) for better spell damage and scaling. Unfortunately Faintstone is required and not very available early game.
I recommend trying to use lighter armor than Drangleic. It's heavy and reduces your roll distance too much, IMO. FWIW I used the staring armor for a long time and later Gravewarden and eventually Lywellen just so I didn't get 1 shot by big enemies.
There are some places where you can bonfire ascetic to get really good spell-related rings. Maybe check this guide and go back and get what suits you:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68853098
If you really want to have some fun, farm up two Blue Flames, Infuse them with Magic (not "Enchanted"), and get enough dex to dual-weild/powerstance the Blue Flames. They can buff each other with Magic Weapon which increases their spell damage and they'll hit pretty hard since most of the damage will scale with Int. I don't know if it's a "good" build but it's really fun.
AH nonono with the blueflame sword I would recommend going magic if you plan to cast spells with it. Enchanted does something like changes the physical scaling into magic scaling but it will still be physical damage.
""Enchanted" weapon augmentation removes all damage but physical damage from your weapon. And now that physical damage will scale with your intellegence. This is of course if you are referring to "Enchanted" element infusion." http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68781824
You can get into it rather late in the game. It's very similar the dragon covenant in the original dark souls.
Here's a post on Gamefaqs about all the covenants if you want to know more about it,
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68746168
Yeah like I said, I really have no idea how that base attack bonus is used in calculating actual damage. Source is here though if you're interested. I'd imagine that it's something like (Str Attack * Str Scaling) + (Dex Attack * Dex Scaling) = Attack Rating. Then Attack Rating * (Type of attack used like R1, R2, Pierce, Slash, distance from htibox etc) - (Formula for enemy's relevant defenses) = damage.
How you doin' guys? I kept slacking off with some casual Terraria. It's all nice and fun until you have to farm for turtle armor, damn it T_T. Also, a few days ago i made some t-shirts for my sunbros [T]/, but i tried to keep it as copyright-friendly as i could. It is my inktober gift to say so. I haven't seen so much inktober drawings in this sub yet considering the good ammount of game content. You can check them out here if you want to. Inktober ftw. I hope that you're also doing great and don't forget to Praise The Sun [T]/.
FYI: If you are wondering if you can run a game, go to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri, AKA 'Can you run it?'. It compares your hardware specs to the minimum and recomended requirements for a game to let you know if it should run.
did you check what caused the blue screen? try http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed and analyze your mini dump files that get created when you have a blue screen and try to find out what caused the bluescreen. i once hat a bluescreen because of my keyboard driver - so it's not always apparent what causes it.
edit: when analyzing your minidump files, search for .dll files that caused the crash. e.g. dll files that start with nv.....dll are mostly nvidia graphic card related.
top tier is 45 million now:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
Also note the various multiplayer connection types and the tiers.
Invasions are pretty fast and furious at higher SM tiers but coop is tough to come by regularly in NG+.
Honestly its a very weird connection. All of my theories where inspired by this thread http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693332-dark-souls-ii/69857461
I would like to think the two kingdoms where founded by the same person but we have no definitive proof of that. I'm still bouncing theories back and forth in my mind of how it cold work.
This has been brought up a million times.
They said they wanted to deliver the full game and that there would be no DLC. Fans complained and said they should keep the possibility open. Then they backtracked and said that DLC would be possible, depending on fan feedback.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/01/31/dark-souls-2-dlc-may-happen-after-all
LOL Dude, you got a midrange card that is 8 years old,of course it runs bad.Same goes for the CPU.I don't think you can do anything about it really
Look at the minimum system requirements needed, you can't even remotely cover them
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/dark-souls-ii-scholar-of-the-first-sin/12491
imo you should just not get the game if you don't have the money to upgrade your pc
have you seen this? http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693332-dark-souls-ii/69857461 really interesting stuff right up your alley.
davecontrollive talks aobut it in one of his videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV49dUzF6ew&list=PLthyFCuYGCashyWQX1RjbeQN-T5aT0aEM about 8:50 he mentions that guys theory and show pictures to which is nice
I think it's because we are used to watching videos at 30 fps. For example here's a Mario Kart video at 60 fps. Looks smooth as fuck to me, even though I play at 60 fps exclusively.
Softbans are real on PC. I just suffered it myself, well, maybe a few weeks ago, but I decided to do some profile swapping... and lo and behold I can now see summon signs and invasion signs on iron keep bridge whereas before I could not! Here is my little rant about it. Never cheated, never modded, never altered anything and I was softbanned. It's very irritating to be caught in the crossfire for no reason at all.
This game has input delay when it comes to inputs from the mouse, but there's a fix nonetheless, you need a program called AutoHotkey which reads mouse inputs and makes them into keyboard inputs.
Then just make a text file called DS2binds.ahk and paste this
#IfWinActive ahk_class DarkSouls2
~LButton::G ~RButton::H 3::Suspend
Of course you can change it depending on your current keybinds, and the toggling key for when you need to access menus with the mouse(it will type H while in menus if it's still on) and never forget to disable all the current mouse binds so there aren't any conflicts!
And as you can see from him navigating through the menu with a kb+m there's still xbox360 button prompts at the bottom telling you how to navigate the menu.
Also as you can see from here the reviewer or whatever you want to call him stated specifically that the game still hows Xbox prompts with a different input method, such as mouse and keyboard.
I have no idea why the PC community waited a month for 60 FPS and some "upgraded" textures but this is most definitely a port. The developers have effectively lied about the PC being the lead platform this time around. Shame.
Unfortunately at least some of the repeating textures are there, e.g. in the flame-reptile pit, as can be seen at 1:37 in the Gamespot preview (http://www.gamespot.com/videos/dark-souls-ii-pc-preview/2300-6418189/). Hard to imagine they could get so much right and leave such things in! Sheer lack of time!?
Around 40 in str/dex is where it starts to slow down to the point it just isn't worth pumping levels into anymore.
If you're still confused this is a good read if you want more info on all the stats http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68745726
This was a faked topic. The message was bogus, but he threw in some familiar comments from Namco to sound believable.
From the topic creator:
> By the way, happy April 1st.
> ...
> They did send me an email... Unfortunately, the email they sent was just a confirmation that they received mine and would look into it. You know, a basic form letter. Yeah, I thought that was odd too.
And in response to someone saying "nice april fools"
> Thank you. It's not a shenanigan I would intend to keep going.
They're working on more movies, so they should cover more than golden age (first 3 were golden age arc) :)
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-02-02/berserk-staff-still-planning-more-after-3-films
Use this site real quick:
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
Just to make sure you meet all the requirements, need to know more than just your graphics card to determine if you can run it. If you do meet all the requirements, then we can go from there.
This site is usually pretty accurate for most games. If you meet the minimum, you'll be able to play the game, but at least having the recommended spec is probably a good idea if you want an enjoyable experience.
Your pc can play the shit out of it. That being said, i opted to buy a ps4 rather than build a pc. I like being on the same playing field as everyone else. I've also been playing all the demons games on PS. The 60fps on PS4 is true, your pc might drop rate a bit. If you already have a ps4, well, shit, this is the best thing on it. If you're thinking of buying a ps4, just buy a new vid card and you'll be happy.
Edit: I just looked up your vid card. Get it in on PC. This game is not taxing on hardware at all, you are basically blowing the required specs out of the water with a pirate cannon. You won't be playing at max visual settings, but it'll look fine. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/dark-souls-ii-scholar-of-the-first-sin/12491/?p=r
You will hardly find any POVs with top10 players playing eachother. Skor had some tournaments (EU/NA/INT) where you can watch some fights narrated by him and him from his point of view at the NA/INT tournaments. If you are new or worse than mid+, it would be the most efficient start. Apart from that, I have fought over 40 ppl in the bo9 format, while most of them were low-mid+ players there are some with top15 such as banishor,egg_priest(aka lyrical),skorbrand, kompass who have all 2k+ hours in the game. Some of the match ups are not really equal but its still very good players with very good weapons behind them. Also I was not playing in all of my bo9's equally well, as time progresses you might even notice how my playstyle changed/less mistakes were made overall.
All of the Souls games and anything by From Soft are absolutely worth playing even without going online. The games are made to be played that way. The games are the singleplayer/PvE first with PvP second. Things get balanced around PvP sometimes, but it isn't the core focus by any means.
The site http://howlongtobeat.com/ is a great resource to see how long games are.
79 points of stat investment isn't comparable to a ring slot, also look at this.
Specifically this:
Fast Roll: 24-25% Encumbrance
iFrames = 13
Full animation = 24
DWGR Flip: 49-50% Encumbrance
iFrames = 15
Full Animation = 22
Yes 2 frames I agree, but take percentages into account for the full animation, you are in invulnerability frames during fast roll for 54% of the animation, with dwgr, you are in invulnerability frames for 68% of the animation. That 14% may not seem like much, but it made it so that if you wanted to play DkS1 competitively you needed it. In DkS2 we have 6 frames of invulnerability in a 30 frame roll, that's only 20% of the time we are invulnerable, and that's at 0% equip burden, 2 frames is again not worth the investment of 79 points into adp.
That video wasn't consistent, he dodged at different animations of the opponents attack, proving nothing, it boiled down to it 'felt' like he had more iframes. They're was a post on gamefaqs of someone do something conclusive testing rolling through the hot rocks in iron keep and counting the frames. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68799675
Tests were done. It's 2 I-frames.
edit: moreover, I didn't downvote you for your opinion and you should have done the same. Downvotes don't mean "I do not agree with you", you know.
NG+ is your second time through the game on the same character.
Soul memory doesn't matter there
I think most people are stopping at SL 150
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693332-dark-souls-ii/68842155
this topic has some theory crafting done by a dark souls vet.
He knows what he is talking about and any of the first post builds will be pretty good if he is vouching for them.
This dictionary lists that usage as 'mainly spoken' and considered incorrect by many people.
Oxford recognizes it as a currently debated live question, in some ways a stopgap necessitated by gender-free writing requirements.
Please, don't just trot out "the dictionary" when there's an active disagreement going on among linguists about it.
Someone else made one as well but here's mine. This will make a backup of %Appdata%\DarkSoulsII\ every time you run the program and only save the last 4 backups made, then automatically run the game. I haven't actually had anyone else test it but it works fine for me. Backups will be kept in a folder called Save Backups which will be created in the folder the exe is run from. Source is in the zip as well as compiled exe.
Sorry, it's nothing conclusive.
Just look at Dark Souls 1: https://steamdb.info/app/211420/history/ Updates like 2-3 times a week and it's not because of GFWL -> Steam, because it's been receiving frequent updates from 2 months ago as well as from 6 months ago etc.
Or maybe I'm wrong; there's a gap between an update 5 months ago and about a month ago.
Anyway, I want to believe.
Do we have any info regarding the length of time before "testdlc2" etc. and the actual DLC releases? Might give us some indication to the time of release, if they are indeed planning something.
Also, link for source: https://steamdb.info/app/236430/history/
Because about 15 days ago a new branch was added in the steam database for Dark Souls 2. Also is this rumor which was already posted several times.
13 hours ago was another small change in the database, but so far we see nothing.
About 12 days ago something new was added in the steam database for Dark Souls 2. /u/Almas_Negras is referring to this rumor.
Or use DS4Windows and click the "Connect exclusively" Button before plugging your controller in. I do have to do that twice but after that everything works perfectly fine without having to mess with any additional drivers etc.
I played the entirety of DS2 vanilla for PC using a DS4 and this driver package http://ds4windows.com/ worked great , try removing your mapper and try this one, should work fine, even worked wirelessly via bluetooth if you want.

$32
I'm currently emailing them if this is region restricted so I can order it for AU.
edit. It's only europe version and they are planning to sell a global version soon. Shame.
Idk anything about the deadzone fix mod but the way i adjust analog settings in any pc game is this. it works for left or right stick
download xbox 360 controller emulator http://www.x360ce.com/
Put the file in your game folder
run x360ce.exe, let it set up
go to the right thumbstick tab and adjust deadzone to your liking
If you already have a 360 controller, go to advanced tab and disable 'pass thru' and enable 'force feedback pass thru'
click save, close program
Yeah, BNGI/FROM not enabling cloud saves is criminal.
http://www.gamesave-manager.com/
You may be able to recover the old files even after a format with recovery software.
What's funny is that FROM almost certainly has a copy of your saves that they uploaded to scan for cheating, but good luck getting it out of them.
I thought I'd take some time to try to see why you feel the way you do, but then I read this and decided that a discussion with you on the merits and the essence of a Souls game would be utterly pointless.
If it helps anyone, I just received an email today stating my ETA is March 12th and I have one-day shipping. :/
If you want to contact Amazon about one of your orders follow this link https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us/ref=hp_ss_comp_cu?ie=UTF8&nodeId=508510
This is true, having a server would prevent the issue we see as "lag" in the Souls series. It has nothing to do with poor "netcoding" and is more a necessity for the kind of game Souls games are than people like to think!
Essentially, having DS2 be a server based game and implementing it the way games like LoL and others do to prevent client desync would work, but it would also make this game borderline unplayable and here's an experienced developer, Chris Wilson of Path of Exile explaining why:
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/889669
To prevent cheating and fully remove desync this is what would have to happen, and you can see how this would ruin the precise combat of DS2, where you need the game to respond, quoted from above article:
"Wait until data arrives back from the server before doing anything. This is a very common strategy in RTS and MOBA games. If you click to move, the unit will only start moving once the server says so, which is 50-250ms later. If you are close to the server, you'll quickly get used to the lag and everything feels pretty good. If you're far away (New Zealand, for example), it feels like you're playing drunk. Every time you issue an order, nothing happens for quarter of a second. This does not work well for Action RPGs - the immediacy and pace of combat requires that actions start to execute instantly."
I don't know about how to change the save directory, but you could create a symlink in Windows for the save folder, pointing it at a dropbox folder instead.
I personally use this program at home, it adds the ability to create symlinks from the right-click context menu: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
> he should drop some points (i'd say 10) from adp (20 adp will give him 96 agl, which is enough for such low level pvp--otherwise he could try 26 adp for 100 agl) and put them in end, and upgrade his longsword
I originally said he should aim for 20 adp in my original post when you said not to listen to me. I DID say drop HP some and put some more into end/str/dex/faith (if going for lightning), but I'm easily willing to backtrack on pumping into all those stats. He does need more stamina.
I said to go raw or normal because raw buffs damage while ignoring scaling for the most part. His stats are so low scaling is pointless for any weapon he uses, so Raw is a decent choice. If he goes back to normal, he can use resins which at his low power outputs will give him a greater boost than most infusions. You cannot resin an infused (at least elementally; I've never tried it on raw) weapon.
I didn't mention upgrading his longsword because he needs titanite chunks for it, and so early game they can be difficult to find. I considered that his longsword was only at +6 because he couldn't upgrade it further. Upgrading it is always a useful choice, I'm not going to deny that.
I'll concede to the small shields recovering faster, however it still stands that the shield isn't much use in a purely defensive manner considering his other current stats.
As for whether I play the game or not, here is Dark Souls 2 and here is Dark Souls 2: SOTFS
you can probably find them easier on niconico instead of youtube. I'm not currently watching anyone in particular, but i believe this guy's pretty popular right now (apparently he really doesn't know what he's doing).
If not, browse the DS2 tag and see if anything looks interesting.
note: you need an account for niconico if you don't know the bypass sites; but they prevent you from commenting, which honestly is part of the fun. I would also avoid going during 4-12PM JST because they use economy mode then and it's like watching shit mixing together pixelated.
If you are using Windows 8 try installing this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40744
If that doesn't work or your not using 8 try installing k-lite codec pack: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
For those having the black screen issue on Windows 7, download and install K-LITE.
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
This fixed the problem for me.
I should mention this is if you don't have Windows 7 N and it still isn't working.
Let me introduce you to what I like to call the "houses" of Souls hacking:
First, there's the reverse engineers. These people are usually skilled hackers with an interest in learning how the games work internally. The majority aren't very open to the public, others... well, are a bit more obvious about it. I've been part of this group for a short time. Some here make use of their knowledge for the good of the community, with things like dsfix and whatnot, others prefer to uncover and showcase unused/dummied content, and then there's the others that release cheat tables and trainers. I'm not fond of those last ones.
Second, the "fun house". Players who grow bored of what the game itself has to offer, and move on to make things more exciting. Cosplays, minibosses or just pure comedy gold. Names like "Fappingguy69", "Ancient Knight" or "Deceased Iron King" come to mind here. I was also into this, until I got banned for it (I guess From doesn't like pelvic thrusts).
Third is the largest group, and what I call "those filthy cheaters". The largest consumers of tables, trainers and whatnot. Most dedicate all their time to griefing, while others just cheat when things don't go their way because they can't stand losing or something like that. I know some people in there.
Although I make three separate groups here, it doesn't necessarily mean one can be just part of a single group. I've known REs that are also into being big fat Cheaty McCheatyfaces, for example.
If you want to know more about hacking, I suggest you grab a copy of SICP (Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs). Give it a read, it's very good.
+10 magic uchigatana: "Sir William Bartleby Pennington"
He enjoys long moonlit walks on the beach, and poetry that utilizes slant rhymes. His favorite books are "The Art of War", "The Book of Five Rings", and "Curious George's First Day of School". He'll watch anything directed by Quentin Tarantino (his cousin is an extra in Kill Bill volume one). He loves trying new things, but he's deathly allergic to shellfish. Looking for suitors that have a special place in their heart, with room for a sword that has a lot of love to give.
But it was the only way to learn and to come out with this high level build I'm quite proud of... I still get to do PVP and have become -I don't want to be arrogant, but I don't know how else to express it- quite strong. http://tinypic.com/r/33eht7b/8
No. I have never fought him and he is apparently done with DS2 or at least doing videos about it so I may never know. I wanted to fight him since he wrote his appreciation about the buff here so he knows the limitations and all by first hand. Anyways I will send you a friend request to coordinate with you and Naembro1. I will do the same with the rest of the organizers.
Here is one and please ignore my trolling lol. That guy that they named down there, Pixels, that’s the one, read the last comments. The other one is travelling right now so if he is back he is probably rusty. In any case I will tell those 2 and other people about this ladder thing if we actually do something, most of them are very skilled. We have the will and the tools so we already have the most important stuff covered. I’m sure that the tournament will happen.
90K is actually pretty good but 110K-129 would be optimal
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
At 110-129 with guardian seal you can help down to 30K and up to 209K
Edit: this is with the giant assumption that the old SM tiers and matchmaking ranges are still valid.....
You can get to Straid with a branch within 30-40k. This puts you in tier 4, which means with a small soapstone you can co-op with absolute beginning players (tier 1, 0-10k SM), and with a normal soapstone can coop with tier 2 and above.
Using the name engraved ring you can coop with tier 1 using the normal soapstone anywhere up to 69,999 SM, and with small soapstone anywhere up to 89,999 SM. That is a massive window to acquire the ring before being locked out of low level coop.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
And that is with existing tiers. One of the unspecified changes with the patch was meant to be 'widening of SM tiers'.
Via certain MP methods yes. However this shelters the first 3 tiers as they were previously known from red invasions which can only go upward via CREO.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
Good reference for this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/69693139
Edit: after looking at that table if you invade as a 3-4.999 MM tier person you can invade folks with up to 14.999 MM SM. So yeah you will definitely see 250+ SL folks.
I found this from http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/693331-dark-souls-ii/68990209
The basic power of the weapon is halved. However, there is a bonus based on your lowest stat, the formula seems to be:
50 + status bonus based on your lowest stat
For the first 20 points in the lowest stat, you get 6 damage bonus per point (up to 120) For the next 10 points (21-30), you get 3 damage bonus per point (up to 30 extra) For 30+, you get 1 damage bonus per point.
So, if your lowest stat is 25, then the damage adjustment is:
50 + 20 * 6 + 5 * 3 = 185
Here. there are other links, but one is enough. I mean, they changed their minds an thats cool with me. I'm just explaining why people are upset. We were told that we would get the full game on release, and now we're not.
