Hey, our plans haven't changed since our original "Early Access" checklist on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/471710/Rec_Room/
Q: Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
A: “Early Access will be free. We plan to add at least one (entirely optional) feature to test out the payment pipeline.
After launch, we plan to add some premium features over time that cost money (examples might be scheduled tournaments, or special avatar items). But our current plan is to always have a free tier that lets you get into the game and have a great experience. That could change depending on how the VR market develops, but that's our current thinking.”
This is closest to your #2, although we would obviously put a more positive spin on it (e.g., we don't think of our avatar items as "cosmetic crap", but rather an important way to express yourself in Rec Room!)
Our belief is that there's nothing inherently wrong with microtransactions. It's all about how you do them.
We say on the front page of our website: "We respect our customers. We value long term connections over making a quick buck. No exploitive monetization methods."
...and that's how we think about it.
But we've always been up front about the fact that we will need to charge for some stuff in Rec Room eventually.
We haven't finalized the exact specifications so error messages saying your device isn't compatible may show up for some users.
If you still want to pre-register, you can do so over the web using this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AgainstGravity.RecRoom
Hey man, it's just how the internet can be, don't take it too hard! Thank you for posting funny stuff on here, it's appreciated! I think what some of the others are bothered by is the "DemoMeme" text all over the meme. Let me try to help you out!
Instead of using the website you're currently using to make these (since it puts that text all over the meme), try using an image editing program. Photoshop would work, but it's expensive, so you could also use this free program called GIMP (click here for their website). Once you download gimp, all you need to do is download the blank meme template (you can find these on google images, for this one you'd search "scroll of truth meme template), open that inside of GIMP, then add the text to it! (click here for a video on adding text in GIMP)
Let me know if you're confused about any of this! And if people keep being mean on the internet, just ignore them, and keep creating what you like to create. Remember to be extra kind to other people who post their stuff here, now that you know it doesn't feel so great when others are rude :)
I bet you could send UTC times to the page and use javascript to convert it to the user's local time. The browser should already know the user's time zone via their OS. e.g. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6525538/convert-utc-date-time-to-local-date-time-using-javascript
Get a refurbished prebuild desktop on ebay like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Pavilion-Power-580-023w-Tower-Intel-i5-7400-GTX-1060-GPU-8-GB-RAM-1TB-HDD/112864837693?epid=16010355860&hash=item1a4744c03d:g:y4MAAOSwGltaptYh
(can also be found on Amazon for a bit more)
Then get a windows mixed reality headset like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Windows-Reality-Headset-VD-R05AP-002/dp/B075PVLN2P/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523804593&sr=8-1&keywords=windows+mixed+reality
Though honestly I would probably spend a little more than this and get a used Vive or new Rift. This setup comes in at about the price point of a PS4 + headset, of course if you like other games that the PS4 has outside of VR then you should probably still go that route.
Maybe this is a start (my app, i've received approval from the rec devs)

If you go to the Play store and search "Rec Room" and don't see the version with the Rec Room logo and by Rec Room, then it's not supported. If you see anything else like 'Rec Room play Together 2' or some other off branded developer name, it is not the official game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AgainstGravity.RecRoom&hl=en\_US&gl=US
It's possible but it will be a bad experience. Bluetooth has latency which is fine for music but not fine for VR. Are you using the stock audio on the Quest? Because it's terrible IMO. If you can afford it, the Deluxe Audio Strap (DAS) for the vive provides much better sound but it's $100. You also need an adapter to attach it. This is the one I have. There's cheaper ones on Amazon but they're 3D printed on hobby level printers and these ones are injection molded.
You can do what I do when I only want to purchase a month of something, I use privacy.com
It's a website where you connect your bank account and you can make disposable debit cards that you can put a limit on, so when I sign up for a free trial of something I will make a card with a limit of 1 dollar and I get the free month and never have to pay the automatic charge. You could do the same for RR by making a debit card with a spend limit of 8 dollars so you pay for one month without having it automatically recharge.
Though if you're a kid I would get your parents to email RR support themselves for a proper answer.
Doesn't Davinci have watermarks unless you buy the full version? Blender is good, though I haven't tried too much of the 2D video editing yet, I mostly 3D.
Another good free one I've tried is Lightworks. https://www.lwks.com/
OMG yes. A code block that took Lua (https://www.lua.org/home.html) would be amazing, easy to embed for AG, and it would be so much easier to grok other people's work. The current neon spaghetti maze for even trivial circuits is just overwhelming.
The idea of "compiling" a series of circuits into a lua function seems like it would make sharing functions way easier, too. Heck, you could even namespace the functions with people's recroom username if you wanted to support publishing/importing/exporting functions.
I use an Anker Cable, I have good network speed, and this is my pc: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GS66-Stealth-i7-10750H-10SF-683/dp/B092RX3H5N/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=102581435242&dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwsNiIBhBdEiwAJK4khsZq1Q4XThykw-mXNFI_euNeKeT3jzV0baGUG_8nxTayj-lE-2LTuxoCIyAQAvD_BwE&hvadid=434186258301....
You can already do it kind of.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valvesoftware.steamlink&hl=en_US&gl=US
Clearly... you don't. You seem to be confused. I don't profit at all if someone buys one from customink or spends their own 10 minutes to make one at the many sweatshirt screeners on the internet. I'm just a fan that hopes AG will update their threadless offerings to include something like it.

By your logic here I am "selling" an actual game called "Rec Room" by including a link to Amazon where it can be purchased. Clearly it's being sold by me, the person that linked to it, and not Media Supplies Outlet and Fulfilled by Amazon.

Maybe ill add support for android wear os
"' "configured' some code via a website" He needs to "compile" it and install it on his iPhone.
If your on Android look at Hermit (play store link), you can just do this in an app.
You can use an android device as a voice changer - just use our app "Hi-Res Audio Recorder" on Google Play:
Click Effects - Voice Changer - you can choose from 12-voices usable for Darth Vader, Batman, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, C3PO, Gollum, Smaug, Ultron.
Just plug in earphones and then click Record to monitor in earphones - or do same with aux cable and the android device behaves like a real-time voice changing microphone. Plug aux cable into your audio equipment (keep volume low initially).

>Ten-year-old twins Ethan and Emmy’s parents have never told their kids what they do for a living. Then just before Halloween, Ethan, Emmy, and their best friend Jax discover a HUGE secret: could their parents actually be . . . witch hunters?
>There’s only one logical explanation: they’re witches, and the meals they serve are spiked with a dangerous potion!
Yup, can confirm, wifi (even 5gz) is flaky. Using powerline adapters (I've got the TP-Link AV1200) give much better reliability than a straight-line < 25 foot 5ghz wifi connection to a normally-robust router.
If you have bad lag, though, try hopping into a different game. It doesn't seem like you're necessarily pinned to a nearby colo-- proximity and lag seem to be random luck.
