Edit:
Background:
Nov 10, 2017, a lawyer in Supreme Court of India acted as whistleblower and sent a confidential document to judges in Supreme Court of India with proof that 45 crore #Aadhaar cards (40%) were bogus and asked for it to be scrapped.
Read. Keep copies.
Go to program files and delete the "Airtostrongs" folder then change the homepage to "about:tab" or whatever page you want it to be.
Edit: It may also be malware. This report details a piece of malware that creates and runs a service called the same thing. Every other place i look on google that mentions "airtostrongs" anything is about malware/viruses so you may want to run a scan to be safe.
What's more you are having trouble getting rid of it and it changes your homepage and won't let you change it back and to me that yells malware.
Get one that is cloud based if you want it really lightweight, like Panda. Also a lightweight cloud based anti-malware is herdProtect.
Not saying you need this, just throwing in what I use: I have a combo of paid Avast Internet Security (3 years now, going to switch to Bitdefender this year after my license ends), paid MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit, herdprotect and GlassWire for additional firewall. Browser wise I use the Avast extension, ublock, HTTPS everywhere & adguard. Another good security measure would be to use something like KeePass to keep track of unique passwords on all sites; long, strong ones.
First up are you lazy or do you like features?
If you're lazy: BitDefender Free is good.
If you like features: Avira Free.
For second opinion anti-malware I recommend MBAM of course and HerdProtect (a lovely cloud scanner; think HitmanPro but free with a bigger library of engines).
Of course common sense helps a lot too.
You can search all loaded DLLs (ctrl+f) with Process Explorer. IIRC you can also use a filter in Filemon/Procmon. Compare it's filesize against the file mentioned here:

Windows Key+R type in appwiz.cpl hit Run. This will take you to the Control Panel Uninstaller. Look for EVERYTHING that says McAfee. Uninstall them all.
https://should-i-remove-it.en.softonic.com/ Should I Remove It can also be helpful with this and if you're looking for an anti-virus software than Malwarebytes tends to not be too obtrusive and their free version is pretty good, although a lot of people like Avast.
https://www.herdprotect.com/ Herd Protect is a good addition to whatever main anti-virus you are using as well.
Other fun Windows key combinations for anyone interested.
Windows Key + D will take you to the Desktop and then pressing it again will go back to where you were at.

Should be impossible to have Defender and a third party AV active at the same time. Defender should disable itself (at least the run time scan engine part) when a third party AV is installed.
File could be related to an Asus GameFirst VI app

Ah, I understand the misunderstanding now. Bitdefender didn't block the update. It blocked the executable. An executable, which, doesn't appear to be a legitimate executable.

Where did you download WhatsApp from?
herdProtect is totally free but I use it as a compliment to Malwarebytes.
>defense malware scanning platform powered by 68 anti-malware engines in the cloud.
So downside is you need a internet connection. But it's quite powerful and lite since cloud based.
The only comparable anti-malware that's at the level & polish of Malwarebytes is Emsisoft Anti-Malware (but free trial).
Intense. Good to hear. Check out herdProtect also, since it's many anti-malwares in one (cloud based), worth a check too.
You didn't mention it but you didn't remove the pagefile right? A lot of blogs/posts have this the tip that if you have a lot of RAM and/or SSD, you should disable the pagefile, which in my opinion is misguided. Lots of programs, etc, still use the pagefile for swapping optimally. Not saying you did, just mentioning it.
