So that's a name I haven't heard for a while (well at least not since a RL conversation with a friend earlier tonight). I decided to look it up, and sure enough, ICQ still exists, now with video and audio calling and a bunch of other snazzy features.
18184933! I just spent the last 5 minutes trying to figure out what the hell my password was.. haven't used it in a good decade or so, long enough that the 'forgot password' stuff doesn't even work for my account.

Concerning chatting, I think that'd be cool! I've been using ICQ (http://www.icq.com) for years. If you can install that software on your computer and create an account, I'd give you my user ID and that'd be it.

Ahh yes, ICQ. I was thinking about it, but was posting from the men's room, lol. It's been so long since I've seen that little daisy icon that I completely forgot what the hell it was called. And....whoa, they still use the same icon, just with different colors ;-) (Hell, I'm surprised they still exist)
Well, if you're good at ignoring trolls the ICQ French is good. Often I see the same users everyday but the trolls.. it's like "4chan the chatroom" at times.
Another chatroom is here but it is usually dead I think. Some activity around 12pm ET.

My first personal email account (not including mailboxes from my parents/school Demon accounts) would be pretty old, , but I think crosswinds went offline in 2001, thanks to some dude named Bin Laden.
so.. Who would buy Reddit? and why?
The greatest lesson learned from the Digg fall-out is that the second you sell out your user base, the user base will vanish.. most people here like the non sellout attitude "The Team" has had in the past. The relationship has been two-way and both parties have benefited from it.
Loose that and the community will switch to another just as "hip" fresh upstart.
Conde may make money off reddit but whoever buys it next only stands to loose it..
