This is what they said when they bought Kik:

>Now that a new company has bought the Kik messenger what does that mean for the Kin integration?
We are fans of Kin and believe in its long term potential. We are excited to further partner with Ted and his team on expanding the Kin integration and have plans to further support the project. We’ll have more to share on that front soon.

That was my message last week, no reply from KIK, I am at the latest step now:
"Hello everyone, I recommend the following path.
1- This week:
Lets send a strong message by emailing kik first and give them a chance:
https://www.kik.com/contact/ (Don't spend you valuable time on the chat of KIN website, it is no different than auto-reply emails and all ignored).
Also tweet to that guy as many times as you can:
twitter.com/ted_livingston
2- Friday:
If there is no tangible step forward taken by them by Friday in terms of listing on exchanges, bring together the evidence and simply fill the following form:
https://www.sec.gov/oiea/Complaint.html
I will do that and recommend the same for you.
3- Next weekend:
Following that, lets also email all main crypto news and also mainstream media and news websites about the situation, so that no one else in the future is inconvenienced dame why by losing their hard earned money.
This was the first and only ICO I have invested in and I will never do the same mistake again. I feel the same pain in my stomach, but lets bring action and see if they will keep ignoring or take action this week. If not, starting the legal action and media attention gradually. One step at a time.
So lets earn our money back, but do it wisely. If you want, then follow these, and if all investors do these all together, we WILL get out money back, one way or the other.
Take care."
According to KIK official blog. They are partnering with Rage Bot Team to announce something exciting in the coming days
https://www.kik.com/blog/kik-medialab-acquisition/
>For the time being, we will be discontinuing the video chat toggle as well as the 3rd party bots platform. Don’t worry this doesn’t include RageBot. (In fact we’re hoping to announce some exciting news with the team behind RageBot in the very near future)
This could imply that ragechat might not be happening if Rage Team and Kik partner cause Rage Chat would be a competitor to Kik, tactically and strategically.
Don't expect any further news on Ragechat while Rage team and Kik are in the midst of negotiations
This cannot be overstated enough! The GBI was brought in…there’s zero chance they haven’t scrubbed every piece digital media available in both of those homes. I totally understand people passing off ideas and theories and it’s not even a terrible idea and one many had early on but it’s frustrating when we have so little to operate off of, and the very little we do have, people refuse to accept. LE has stated that social media and/or online activity wasn’t involved in the girls murder. I’m sure they found plenty of things the girls were hiding and pursued anything and everything they found…maybe that’s what played a part in the Bicycle Road warrant, idk.
What I do know is that LE/GBI can absolutely get a warrant for kik who definitely stores transcripts. 1000%. Additionally I’m guessing all of these social media platforms would gladly offer to assist in the murder of 2 young girls…I can’t imagine they put up a lot of red tape here. And don’t you think the fact that all of Libby’s social media is still active only further validates it plays no role in this crime?
you can stay grounded but still actively DYOR
Please scroll down and do watch the old video
Fred talked about using Kin back in 2017
A decentralized ecosystem of digital services for daily life.
>"Canadian messaging app Kik got in trouble for using a SAFT in an ICO in September 2017 and remains locked in a deathmatch with the SEC. However, part of their issue was that the app itself was failing, so its Kin token struck many as a lifeboat on a sinking ship rather than an earnest project."

So annoying to see the crypto news cover our project in this way every time.

WRONG! FUCKING WRONG! KIK has over 100,000,000 downloads... The author can't even distinguish between user ratings and user downloads...
The big thing I noticed is that there are numbers attached to things if you look at the animations on the https://www.kik.com/kin/ site. "Earn 8 Kin" and "15 Kin were added to your balance" when the user interacted with a Bot that showed ads (missions), or surveys.
It's basically Kik points. I suspected and have been saying for a long time now that the high amount of Kin is so that micropayments are possible, and this confirms it.
> Obviously, Kik is known for not keeping any messages.
Source?
Just look at their privacy policy. The only reason I'd say they're better than using something like Facebook Messenger is because Kik isn't Facebook themselves. This is an absolutely terrible messaging platform.

https://www.kik.com/privacy-policy/#information-we-collect-and-how-we-collect-it
The Kin TDE (token distribution event - another name, I suppose, for ICO) happened on September 12, 2017 .
I'm not sure the exact amount of coins, but Kik limited each participant to about $6k worth - Ted mentions this limit during a recent Pomp podcast -
> I've heard due to kiks privacy settings if the other user wants to, they can get information on you.
Do you have a source? This is too vague of a statement to endorse or refute. Maybe someone claimed something serious like a security vulnerability in the app that leaks information, or maybe it's something easily blocked like Android permissions that overzealously take your location data and automatically share it with your contacts. You can certainly view Kik's privacy policoy to see what they claim.
In the end, I'm with /u/ixxxt. If they prefer Kik but you prefer Signal, then let it be a battle of stubbornness.
Also worth noting is that Wire might be preferable to Signal in this case, since Wire can use usernames. If you want to talk to one another on Signal, then you have to exchange phone numbers, which may be undesirable.
Also, it's not like trademarks mean you get to say that anything that consists of your trademark is yours. They're pretty narrow in just the specific thing that they're representing.
Specifically, kik has the trademark over this stylization of the letters kik™®, followed by a blue dot. When we find this specific logo on azer's kik package, and only then, will I agree that it was the correct decision for them to take the package down.

If you have an email attached to your account, they would probably tell you the reason why. If for some reason that isn't the case, you can look here to see if you might have done anything rule-breaking.

This sub is mainly for exposing elite pedophilia and child trafficking. However there are some in here like myself who will try to help.
Here is a link to the FBI IINI- Innocent Images National Initiative who’s goal it is to break up online pedophile networks.
There is a team of people dedicated to the sole purpose of catching and exposing pedophiles on KiK. Operation OKTaPUs- Operation Kick That Pedo User.

It depends on your location and your age. A third of American teens use Kik and three quarters are between 13 and 24. Some of the Kin submodules were released in the UK,Canada as well, so my blind guess is that they have a lot of users there as well.

Whoop!
>Kik will not be closing
Like the one that already funded them 4 years ago?

#1.) Stop with the best coders / crytopgraphers nonsense. Ya'll forked Stellar and every app y'all ever deployed has been a bug ridden mess. Aside from Kinit and Tippic (which was total gabbage and got eclipsed by the indie app Imgvue with way less of a budget) What has Kin Foundation put out that turned heads in crypto/tech?
#2.) If they blew a huge amount of the 100m on Office Rent, that's arguably a huge waste of funds. I bet the community manager who forgot about the bi-weekly update is hella comfortable when he dozes off on his naps.
#3.) I'm sure sending Chase to present in Amsterdam in front of 2 people was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
#4.) Given the number upvotes, the speculation of severance packages and yard expenses seem to be very plausible line items. Your opinion sounds like that you were offended by that post and Im sorry you feel that way.
#5.) This man is telling folks that are down 90% to be grateful after being strung along and lied to over the last 2 years. The arrogance is strong with this Kik Interactive Employee.
#6.) There's definitely free lunch (Source: https://www.kik.com/careers/ ) And by the way a lot of you folks talk the free "Kool-aid" must be bomb!
Looking at the kiks Carreers website they dont have an office in New York.
The only 3 offices listed are in
The Messenger App for phones.
But no, this isn't one of those types of crews. Though ironically, I did hear a story recently about that sort of shit going about GTA/The MC Community. Shit's really gone downhill since I was last playing that Game...
The Kin Rewards Engine incentivises developers to create a C2C economy in the ecosystem. This internal trading makes Kin a valuable commodity, and users want to earn as much as possible so they can spend.
On the other side of the equation, brands want to engage all these people using Kin, by paying them to watch videos, do simple tasks, complete surveys, etc. These brands buy Kin and pay it to users to perform these tasks.
For example, Survey Monkey has a revenue of $200 just from surveys. Mechanical Turk has a transaction volume of between $10-$100 million. Other examples would be giving you Kin to invite a friend, download an app, tweet about a game, etc. So companies like these would suddenly have a ready 'work-force' to incentivise with Kin.
An example is how brands have used Kik to reach audiences. However, picture this with many more brands, apps, services all buying Kin to incentivise users in a multi-billion dollar industry
the real question is what will happen when Kin gets dropped this quarter. I have been a big fan of metal since inception but from the new kin app I see much promise on that front. especially since they want to fork stellar
Now I agree that if Metal is FDIC then this gives MTL an advantage but both are offering rewards within app but it will be interesting to see if they will payout similar to swagbucks like kin is doing? let me know your thoughts

I really don't think that in order to curb the whole thing with pedophiles they would need to completely get rid of anonymity. Like all it would take to fix the dick pic problem would be to not allow pictures to be sent until you respond to a person, that has nothing to do with anonymity. They also make it clear https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X1A0WqJIiQA that kik in specific has a bigger problem than other sites. I think it's a huge cop out to just say that society as a whole has a problem because that kinda just pushes the problem to the side and doesn't really address anything. It's significantly more feasible to deal with the exploitation of young users on a specific platform than it is to deal with pedophilia in society as a whole.
It's also kinda debatable if they're even focused on anonymity in the first place. If your goal is a chatting app that lets you be anonymous there are plenty of other much better choices. They put a lot of emphasis on linking your kik account to social media and one look at the website https://www.kik.com/about/ can tell you who their target demographic is and what their goals are. They frequently emphasize having a safe app, but that's obviously not true. At minimum you should hold them accountable for failing to deliver on their promises or at least let people know that the app isn't as safe as they advertise which I think this video does well.
Here is the ROBLOX ToS. It doesn't nearly go into as specific terms as necessary for my issue to be answered by it, but it does mention not to mention your personal information to anyone as merely just a suggestion. My problem lies in the fact that he's essentially extorting me in exchange to be unsuspended in the group.
Also, here's the Kik ToS regarding legality. Really nothing at all.
Kik: >Kik seems to be the favorited app for when it comes to sending dirty messages. It is our current group messenger provider; however, every group has a limit of 50 people. Thus makes it a monster for mod’s to have to monitor all the groups. Kik is also currently full of bugs.
