I've been down this rabbit hole, and there actually was a rise in the use of Satanic symbolism and ritual murders in the 1980s. Lt. Col. Hmmm the eye anomaly itself is not that big a deal, about 3% or so have it. It's the high percentage of certain public figures that have it that I find alarming.
