Also, earlier today I was discussing Firefox based browsers with someone so I thought I'd also let you know about Light (formerly lightfox). It's a trimmed down version of the most recent Firefox Extended Support Release - and it's really useful when working with weaker machines and vm's you only need a minimal browser in and don't want swallowing up the host's resources needlessly. I often install it alongside Firefox DE in my more general-use vm's...so i can use the correct power as the task requires...also good when you want multiple instances of Firefox or want to keep one plugged into something like Burp...
DevOps guy here - the new FF is pretty quick. If you want a smaller footprint. Consider looking at Light. It is a light weight browser based on Firefox
this can help
disable startup programs in task manager
look for game/silent mode in the antivirus
use another browser like vivaldi or light firefox https://sourceforge.net/projects/lightfirefox/
'I hate facebook.'
I do not like google chrome.
What is my #1 favorite thing ever to do with Google Chrome?
Download Firefox DE and/or Light depending on a few variables.
Other than that I just use Chrome under macOS, for compatibility with a few add-ons / websites and for testing some things...
My standard browser under macOS is also Firefox DE.
