The biggest defining feature between MathStudio and other comparable software is it's scripting language. For instance you can work with external data with just a few lines of code. http://mathstud.io/manual/Working_with_JSON
You can see more examples of what users have done with MathStudio's scripting language here including fully interactive games. http://mathstud.io/share/
Just use the web version of this — it's free. http://mathstud.io
Tbh I have not found any app anything as good as MATLAB on iOS. The closest that comes is the Wolfram app but it requires internet and I think recently they have introduced some subscription stuff.
Another great app is SymCalc by Voxeloid Kft ($10) full version or freemium ($2 yearly subscription).
If you haven't got it yet get https://apps.apple.com/us/app/graphncalc83/id744882019 (it's free).
I just bought it so can’t provide much insights yet. I plan to use it as a (very simplified) mathematica alternative. You can check out its functions and try them yourself on their website.
Thanks for your post! I'm working on getting MathStudio Express back on the App Store. This is similar to the last version of SpaceTime.
As far as the full current version of the iOS version there are no plans to bring that to Android at the moment however you can use MathStudio in your web browser on any device for free.
