It's a Notational Velocity clone written in Python and available cross-platform, and for free, and open sourcE: https://github.com/cpbotha/nvpy
You have to love their honesty:
> Simplenote syncing note-taking application, inspired by Notational Velocity and ResophNotes, but uglier and cross-platformerer.

Hi!
I'm looking for a note & note organization program.
The following features are essential:
Summon with customizable shortcut.
Minimal UI. (May have expanded UI, but summoned text input/search should be lite.)
Create note by simply typing.
Create searchable keywords/tags with # (for example: This is a note about #music to listen to later #queue.) The should create a tag for the # keywords future use/search))
Fully keyboard (tab & key combo) operated.
Entering # in the search lists all # tags (in a drop-down menu).
Windows (10) native.
Set content file and path manually.
Inessential features:
Would like to be able to search for notes with multiple # keywords.
Use any other operator besides #
No need for titles, body should suffice.
Text editor inessential.
Some metadata would be nice, e.g. timestamp creation, last edited, etc.
Apps I have tried:
Does this exist?
Thanks!
