I may or may not have been the guy who helped the guy translate that in french, actually ;) Didn't it stop working when Google changed the Drive APIs? It's been replaced with overGrive, IIRC. Couldn't get it to work on Arch though, because of dependencies named differently. I communicated with the developer back then to try and make it work - seems like he figured it out himself since then. Might get down to making an AUR package like I was supposed to do when I got it to work!
I use overGrive. It's not free, but works quite well (not perfectly). It's well worth the $4.99 to support the development as that's a lifetime licence and devs need to eat!
There's a free trial.
You will probably get the best experience with overGrive. Instruction links are at the bottom of the website I linked, and you can use the Ubuntu option to get it installed.

Consider using Overgrive. It's not free, but has a free trial period. Tried different solutions myself. The built in Online Accounts didn't work for me. Too slow and instable connections. Happy with overgrive now for less then $ 5.
I've been using Overgrive (https://www.thefanclub.co.za/overgrive) for a couple years now, Very happy with it, it costs $5 one time, but IMO it was well worth it.
I am using overgrive for that. Look: https://www.thefanclub.co.za/overgrive
Licenses start at 5$ if I remember correctly.
Overgrive has a few issues for me, mainly it sometimes forgets my credentials on my notebook. But other than that, it works like a charm.
overGrive appears to be the successor of the no longer maintained Grive Tools.
With GNOME (Ubuntu's default DE) you apparently should be able to easily access Google Drive, too (see, e. g., https://linuxconfig.org/google-drive-on-ubuntu-18-04-bionic-beaver-linux).
After installing armbian on it you can install overdrive https://www.thefanclub.co.za/overgrive/installation-instructions-raspberrypi as google drive sync and and an smb client to see it in your homenetwork.
Your device -> to opi usb hdd-> google drive and the way back.
I've used overGrive for the past few months without any big hiccups. It has autosync and locally stores the files, which I prefer to other solutions. It isn't free, it costs $4.99 for a license, but there is a 14 day trial to see if it works for you.
A couple of years ago I got sick of all the runaround that had to happen to get Google Drive on my linux machine. So i downloaded OverGrive: https://www.thefanclub.co.za/overgrive
Automatically syncs both ways, runs on startup, and you can selectively sync folders. It's $5, and it was totally worth the expenditure
