It looks like an online application from http://paper.li/ where anyone can make an online newspaper. I think you just plug in a bunch of other feeds, cause for some reason it has a lot of Funny or Die shit on it. It's really just a big fucking mess.
A few of the best blogs to follow for digital advertising are Ad exchanger, digiday, mediapost, allthingsd, exchangewire, advertising age, ad week, venture beat, marketing week, campaign, etc.
I actually track a lot of news from digital advertising blogs for work, and since im aggregating it anyway I'm starting to put it into a daily paper.li post: http://paper.li/3Jon/1347465206
Sorry for the god awful formatting. Writing from my phone.
I use a Twitter aggregator to gather as many ideologically diverse news stories as I can: http://paper.li/vaslittlecrow/current-events
I have the Economist there. If you can suggest other newspapers or sources to add into my aggregator, I would love it.
I enjoy using Reddit, YouTube, Google Plus and other user-driven sources for my news. I also like reading bills, historical documents and Supreme Court rulings.
I've used paper.li for a while. For example: here's a link to a paper I've done from all the Twitter accounts at Google.
There are a few advantages to this, IMHO: * Rather than expect people to follow you throughout the day, they can catch-up with your topic by viewing a one page summary * The links to articles in the paper are followable
About the followable links: they are followable for now. If people start abusing this they will stop being followable. If the only reason you can think of using paper.li is for these followable links, you are missing the point.
"Link-Chasers" (SEOs who exploit linking opportunities until they are no longer valuable) are always playing catch-up. Some see this as a risk worth taking. Me- I would never expose my clients like this.
