EDIT: Also, Antonio Banderas told me a few times that I sounded "tall and beautiful" which I thought was hilarious.
In Thai, the number 5 is pronounced "ha" - so instead of saying "LOL" or "haha", people just write "55555". So if you see that anywhere on the interwebs, it's not some crazy number cult, just Thai people laughing!
Edit: I feel like it's my duty to inform you all that Mashable/The Atlantic have used our comments as inspiration for an article (and they've even called this thread "amazing"!): http://mashable.com/2012/12/12/laugh-online-languages/
I read this in Dilbert the book : > > Grab a handful of paperclips and find an office/meeting room. Shut the door and lie down on the ground with your feet against the door. Sprinkle the paperclips in front of you. Now have a nap. > > If someone tries to enter the room, the door will hit your feet. This will naturally cause them to pause (and stops them entering), it wakes you up and lets you reach for the paperclips which gives you a ready excuse ("Oh sorry, I was just picking up the paperclips")
We know how Republicans feel about protecting Internet Freedom. Is Internet Freedom an issue you'd push to add to the Democratic Party's 2012 platform?
“I am a little worried that smash’ll be out of reach for my lifespan though and that mega sucks if I’m being real with yall,” Taylor said. “It’s kinda dumb to want a video game so much that I’d beg for it over my passing and would feel greedy and scummy because there are 3 games that fall into this category (Isaac: Repentance, DMC5, Smash) because I’d be holding my death over their hands.”
Nintendo apparently found out and gifted him with playing the demo. After a 3 year battle with bone cancer, Chris has decided to end his treatment and this was a very nice gesture in his final days.
Well, according to my Twitter replies, there's a thing happening on Reddit about me! And here we are.
I did that photo for fun with Buzzfeed: http://www.buzzfeed.com/veronicabelmont/veronica-belmont-cleavage-1n4
I had been noticing on my website that a lot of people were searching "veronica belmont cleavage" (lulz) so I decided to have some fun with the search engine optimization. Glad you guys (or, some of you) got a kick out of it!
This was a long time ago, though, weird how these things come back around.
Pretty likely that it was this article from Monday that pushed it over the edge: You can’t offer to murder cops on Reddit unless you’re on r/TheDonald
I would add - as world leaders gather in NY to discuss future climate change action, Musk had a quite insightful response to AGW and the transition to renewable energy that most probably haven't seen: >"By definition we must move to renewable energy, how can one argue against that? because to argue for it is to say we will eventually run out of energy and die, or civilization will collapse, so obviously we must find ways to produce energy in a renewable manner, the question is just how hard we should try what pace should we go at. And i think logically we should go as fast as we can, because since we know we have to get there eventually, it is better to get to a renewable future a sustainable future sooner rather than later, get there before we do the environmental damage not after, even if one can say maybe there isn't that much environmental damage, to play the devils advocate - maybe the environmental damage wont be that bad - Why take the chance?"
I thought this comment from a discussion on this topic on another forum was insightful:
>If you are interested in undermining these communities that are repressive to women, one of the most important and effective ways to do that is to provide women-only gathering spaces outside the control of the men of the community where women can network and be amongst each other without men policing their thoughts and speech. And even better is women-only spaces that belong to the general community where women in oppressive communities will have the opportunity to interact with women in the general community, and to build the sorts of connections that allow them to safely escape repressive communities.
>Women-only gyms, pools, hairdresser hours, nail salons, etc., are where an awful lot of women who end up fleeing closed religious communities (or domestic violence situations) meet the women and get access to the social services that help them escape. There's a reason DV and cult-escape groups do a lot of outreach through commercial and community locations with women-only hours.

Someone ~~answered~~ asked, "Why are you so awkward?" And she responded, "Because I'm 13."
Well, prior to that, when I would bring up reddit AMAs, people were sort of still at the point of "Hmm, can you explain that some more?"
When I pitched Gerry and his team on doing an AMA, he was like, yeah let's go for it! So we set one up and I will never forget the energy of that AMA. It was like being in a concert. You literally felt the energy of all those millions of people asking questions all at the same time. It was electric. He was really, really inspired by it, and so was I. And so he taped that thank you message. And the rest is history. People started to "get" reddit and why I loved it so much.

Totally depends on each person - some folks like to share the computer screen with me (Elijah Wood, for instance), others like to read the questions themselves and dictate their answers to said questions (i.e. "I like this question from SeniorPoopedMyPants - can you find that one? It was something about my favorite video game!"), and still others like me to help them navigate it because they can't look at the screen (For example, Ron Perlman was driving around Los Angeles during his AMA and talking to me on the phone so I was reading him questions).

Haha!
Aw! Well when Elijah Wood did his most recent AMA he was actually really sick, poor kid, so I gave him advil and orange juice and tried to help him through it. He was a trooper.
ALSO: he recognized me from his first AMA. which was really sweet. You have to consider the fact that celebrities meet thousands of people every year.

I live in NYC and am absolutely dependant on google maps.
I am seriously considering getting an android phone because of this clusterfuck. I literally had the iphone5 in my shopping cart yesterday when iOS 6 was released, and I'm relieved I tried it out on my iPad before shelling out $500 for the iphone5.
If the owners of those photos or media send us takedown notice, we'll respond accordingly (likely asking them to contact the original media host, for things outside thumbnails).
Sending a properly formatted DMCA takedown notice is not difficult. We have received them from plenty of claimants who have no legal representation. A quick google search will give anyone an idea of how to go about doing this, and DMCA contact instructions can be found in our user agreement.

"Amok is a Malay word for the homicidal sprees occasionally undertaken by lonely, Indochinese men who have suffered a loss of love, a loss of money, or a loss of face. The syndrome has been described in a culture even more remote from the West: the stone-age foragers of Papua New Guinea.
The amok man is patently out of his mind, an automaton oblivious to his surroundings and unreachable by appeals or threats. But his rampage is preceded by lengthy brooding over failure, and is carefully planned as a means of deliverance from an unbearable situation. The amok state is chillingly cognitive. It is triggered not by a stimulus, not by a tumor, not by a random spurt of brain chemicals, but by an idea. The idea is so standard that the following summary of the amok mind-set, composed in 1968 by a psychiatrist who had interviewed seven hospitalized amoks in Papua New Guinea, is an apt description of the the thoughts of mass murderers continents and decades away: >"I am not an important man... I possess only my personal sense of dignity. My life has been reduced to nothing by an intolerable insult. Therefore, I have nothing to lose except my life, which is nothing, so I trade my life for yours, as your life is favoured. The exchange is in my favour, so I shall not only kill you, but I shall kill many of you, and at the same time rehabilitate myself in the eyes of the group of which I am a member, even though I might be killed in the process."
The amok syndrome is an extreme instance of the puzzle of human emotions. Exotic at first glance, upon scrutiny they turn out to be universal; quintessentially irrational, they are tightly interwoven with abstract thought and have a cold logic of their own.
From How The Mind Works by Steven Pinker"
>Here is a fun game to play: If you spot a black bird, mimic their noises while staring at them head tilted. For whatever reason, staring directly will only scare them. Now as you repeat their calls, they will vary the sequence seeming to try to throw you off. Keep repeating the sequence back to the bird. Repeat the squawk as many times as they do. Keep this up for a few more minutes. The bird will continue to vary the sequence. This is to identify whether or not they are hallucinating or if, you, the human down below, really is being this strange. Stick with it. Eventually the black bird will make some weird noise it had picked up. A poorly emulated car engine start, or some stray human syllable. If you can make a decent impression of it then the bird will try another noise, or less creatively, make the same engine noise in a vague rhythm. Once you fail, however, it is extremely likely the bird will take flight and circle the neighborhood making this unemulatable noise. Now if any other black birds come by this game is usually dropped and you cannot get to the very end, but keep trying.
> This game works better for crows and ravens than other crovid, but try it out!
> It is like an easter egg for REALITY.
Full disclosure, this photo with a similar comment appeared somewhere else on the web about a year ago I think. I stumbled across the photo today and thought I'd share it :-)

A comment made by Metafilter user Doroteo Arango II
> What is the name of that feeling were you feel awed and happy and infinitely sad at the same time?
> Octopuses give me that.
> They are so smart and beautiful. When kept in aquariums they can learn to recognize their owners, and they can be trained to do all kinds of tricks. They can even answer to their name, if the name is a shape painted on a card or some other visual symbol. They have their own individual personalities, and they come up with tricks of their own.
> And once they know you and trust you, they will let you touch them, and will come to you and give you hundreds of loving kisses with their little suckers. And they look into your eyes and you look into theirs and you feel that a fragile golden thread of communication is connecting two of the most advanced and alien intelligences on earth, and that gives you hope for every little living thing.
> And then a year has gone by and they die in front of your eyes and you have to learn to say good-bye and there is nothing you can do about it.
> Keeping octopuses is like Fry's dog in Futurama ever year for ever and ever.
> I am happy there are braver or more masochistic scientists and enthusiasts advancing the state of the art in octopus breeding every year. Dolphins and apes are intelligent, but too much like us. Even parrots and corvids, the tiny dinosaurs that made it, are just a few branches apart in the tree of life, like half brothers, all tetrapods. Octopuses, who are not even vertebrates, are as close to an alien intelligence as we will probably get before we are all dead.
I'm gonna quote a super-smart dude from MetaFilter on Black Widow:
>You are missing the point of Black Widow. She can kick ass and shoot stuff and all, but her REAL value is she's AN INTELLIGENCE AGENT. She's already read the dossier on the massive eldritch robotic space horror. She's got the blueprints. She's paid off the massive eldritch robotic space horror's college roommate and she's been rifling through his sock drawer. She's got a guy who knows a guy who happens to have the only anti-massive eldritch robotic space horror gun in the galaxy, and she's bribed the Kree ambassador to smuggle it to Earth.
>And all this was like three years ago. THAT'S Black Widow. Her super-power is being PREPARED.
I'm blanking on that- but I am remembering the most awkward response to have to ask about spelling. I remember saying "How do you spell Superjew? for Danny Trejo...
I read somewhere that Amazon accounts for 90% of cloud hosting. Microsoft 5%, Google 1%, and 4% to every other cloud provider.
I don't have a source, but this article alludes to that fac: https://thenextweb.com/offers/2016/03/11/amazon-web-services-dominates-cloud-services-market/
> AWS had more than 10 times the computing capacity in use than the next 14 largest cloud companies combined
EDIT: To clarify, I believe this stat is specifically for public cloud hosting. Private cloud and hosting (e.g. Google's own servers) were not included in the stat.
Here is another one.

From the Hacker News comments: He had his account re-activated, and was offered an internship at Uber.
> Amos here from Uber. First of all, this was a very cool app Will. I love your passion for technology and your interest in Uber. For some pretty obvious reasons (many of which are mentioned in the comments), we didn't have a choice to but to suspend your account. That said, there's no hard feelings. We've re-activated your account and would love to chat with you about an internship this summer. I hope you continue creating and exploring!
Interesting discussion happening at Hacker News
TL;DR
Sony earlier faced similar issue vis-a-vis Baidu (Sony BMG copy protection rootkit scandal). This seems to be lot worse.
A guess: Baidu’s push service is used for pushing content to MyXperia, which can remotely track or lock your device. Poor choice of provider.
Just unpacked my Sony Z3 compact, haven't installed a single app and its connecting to China. I am not so concerned about the folder itself but my phone now has a constant connection to an IP address in Beijing which I am not too happy about.
They should report both. Those people familiar with computers should expect the OS to take up some room. The difference here is the proportion. My desktop had a 500 GB hard drive. I realize that maybe 10GB of that is the OS. My iPad has 64 GB, and iOS takes a few GBs. Generally, around 5% is expected, and 10% is acceptable in some devices such as low end models.
In this case it's practically 50%. It's just way beyond what is expected or even considered acceptable.
That said, I would approve of all manufacturers stating capacity and available storage on their packaging when the product requires that the storage be used for the product to function (I.e. an operating system).
EDIT: Actually, iOS 6 only takes up 957 MB (largest iOS to date).
I really don't like quote dropping, but I've always found PC master race to be the epitome of this one:
>Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company.
-René Descartes (maybe, I'm finding conflicting sources, give me a minute)
according to wikiquote...
>The original source for this quote, as far as I can tell, is a Y Combinator user named DarkShikari. See https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1011498.
IDK, IDC, it applies to PCMR and that's the important thing.
EDIT: And yet, despite being fake ... and a repost ... and not really all that funny ... it still makes the front page. Good job, everyone.
[–]Andrea845 [+2][S] 66 points 4 hours ago* > Under American jurisprudence, gathering evidence like the NSA does is illegal itself. Also, illegally-obtained evidence is supposed to be suppressed in court, because of an established legal doctrine called "fruit of the poisonous tree". > Google for "parallel construction". This is a corrupt practice whereby the crooks who are trying to ruin someone's life (in this case, Ross) can't actually find anything to ruin him with, so what they do is they obtain illegally-gathered evidence, and then use this illegally-obtained evidence to retroactively fabricate plausible "evidence" that they can show in court; this allows them to avoid being charged with crimes themselves, and gets them their goal of ruining their victim's life. > This is not the first time it has happened. You'll find quite a few other cases in which evidence obtained illegally through spying and other warrantless methods was whitewashed to make it appear legit. > So why does this matter? Well, if the people doing the accusing can freely lie about how they obtained evidence, and use those lies to exploit illegally obtained evidence, then there is no denying that the "justice system" is a scam. > I hope this puts to rest any doubt that the Silk Road case against Ross Ulbricht is anything other than a kangaroo trial.

It's the last one in the US, not the world. And their Twitter account is hilarious @loneblockbuster. Sample tweet "A lot of people don't know this but we own a large portion of Netflix. Just kidding our electricity just got shut off."
Edit: After further review, u/certified_anus_beef s comment below mine is correct. The Twitter account is not associated with the store in Bend... https://thenextweb.com/shareables/2017/08/04/the-last-blockbuster-might-be-the-funniest-account-on-twitter/amp/ . It's still a super funny Twitter account
Let's share another one that i haven't shared yet - LeVar Burton. I GREW UP on Reading Rainbow. I'm a total PBS kid. So I did geek out a bit at the beginning, but then he started talking and we really got started answering questions, and it was moving along at a prodigious pace - and then he literally started crying at this question. He was so incredibly moved by the showing of support from everyone online. I was choking up on my end as well. That emotion really came across in the AMA, I think. It was beautiful, and touching, and precious.
Stupid girl. She got arrested for this, then actually boasted that she got more twitter followers for it. Follow up articles below.

Limit of 50 would allow a person to try 50 most common passwords:
e.g:
http://mashable.com/2013/11/05/20-most-popular-passwords-adobe/
This would significantly increase a chance of a breach than a lockout after 5 tries.
Chances are they are with me in person - if it says I'm assisting them, that probably means I'm helping out with their AMA via phone. It depends re: me going to them, or them coming to me - as you can see in some of the pics I shared above, we have had some really fun people come by the reddit office (and DARN I just realized I forgot to include Tim Gunn's photo - our entire NY office LOVED HIM. TIM GUNN IS SUPER SUPER NICE!), and in others, I've gone to them (like Nas, who was also really cool).
Legally it's not, but a Black woman who swam there said she was treated rudely and kicked by multiple Hasidic women.
De facto it looks like it's a Hasidim-only time.
> In the pool — basically all the worst kind of passive aggressive lap swimming stuff: pushing off in front of you, jumping in front of you, not moving from the wall when you need to turn, etc., plus being kicked underwater, multiple times by multiple different people. In the locker room — cutting for the shower as though I wasn't waiting and staring, mostly. I've swam at other times, so I know it isn't just that the pool has a culture of chaos. And you know, it's possible other people found it calming and wonderful (and I am not sure how much being black would have to do with it either), but it was super uncomfortable so I stopped swimming them after a few tries, because who has time for that kind of shit?
IIIIIII LOOOOOVEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUU JEEEEEESUSSSSS CHRIIIIIIIIIIISTTTTTTTTT
That being said, I fucking love that album and I really want the time traveling Jeff Mangum theory to be real.
No. It's usually because they're shy or holding back or reserved. They usually warm up by the end. Like Mark Ruffalo who was awesome but he started off a bit reserved - by the end we were having a blast.

The discussion about this article on Hacker News is interesting, and given the author and another native Bengali speaker don't agree how the character in question even should be represented, it's not particularly surprising the Unicode consortium hasn't figured it out, either.
"In his latest stunt, promoter Jeff Beacher, dressed as Big Britney [Spears], "collapsed" at Jet nightclub at The Mirage on Monday and was wheeled to an awaiting ambulance. Wee Matt, one of Beacher's Oompa Loompas, is holding Beacher's hand. As for the guys in the rabbit suits? Need we say staged?"
One of the VLC developers commented on Hacker News:
> VLC does not (and cannot) modify the OUTPUT volume to destroy the speakers. VLC is a Software using the OFFICIAL platforms APIs. > > The issue here is that Dell sound cards output power (that can be approached by a factor of the quadratic of the amplitude) that Dell speakers cannot handle. Simply said, the sound card outputs at max 10W, and the speakers only can take 6W in, and neither their BIOS or drivers block this.
I'm being told that articles like this one are the reason the action is actually being taken. So again it's not that they did it but that it got out and is making Reddit look bad in the media.
Goddamn blog spam. Here's the original (and much expanded) article:

Reddit is the 3rd most popular site in the US and gets more traffic than Facebook or Youtube. This isn't some secret club that only a few people know about
Pretty disappointing. As this comment from HN says, Oracle themselves are guilty of this.
I hope this goes up to the Supreme Court. I imagine that Google are sure to appeal this.
'rayiner at HN made a good comment that's worth repeating here:
>Offices are a really great example of the push to keep programmers from thinking of themselves as professionals, either by treating them like IT or tech support, or like college kids. Google or Facebook's revenue per engineer is probably 3x that of a law firm or consulting firm, but the overwhelming practice in the latter sorts of places is for each professional to have an office with a door.
>When you're a growing startup, having private offices costs you flexibility as well as cash because open plan is easier to reconfigure as you grow. If you're at the point where you're commissioning a Ghery, you're well past that excuse.
Technically, the attendees weren't trying to shout down the Puerto Rican speaker, but were trying to drown out boos from the Ron Paul delegates.

A lot of drama because of a fork from FFmpeg called "libav". I think there was a lot of aggression between the two forks and Michael was under a ton of stress from both sides. HERE is a thread from earlier today on HN, and one of the top level comments is from the president of VideoLAN, and that draws a lot of fire as well.
FFmpeg is amazing software, but I don't blame Michael for not wanting to work in that kind of environment.
> After the deletion and restoration of Toy Story 2, the team was likely hoping for an uneventful path to release, but it was not to be.
> In the Christmas of ’98, after the release of A Bug’s Life and the promotional tour was done, John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and legendary story man Joe Ranft all came to the production team to take a look at Toy Story 2.

The top comment over at "hacker" news (lol) is:
> That comment was taken out of context. Wired wrote an entire article about an offhand remark.
> I was at ChefConf, the comment was made during a panel discussion on open source [1]. On the panel there was an engineer from Facebook, an IT Director from Gap, and Mark Russinovich the CTO of Azure (note Azure, not Windows).
> The conversation went something like this (paraphrasing):
> Moderator: "Microsoft used to really suck, and they were really anti-open source. But now they are open sourcing things like CLR on GitHub. I bet one thing they will never open source is Windows."
> Mark: "You never know, it's definitely possible. Crazy stuff happens."
> Nothing more on the subject.
So ... yeah, probably not. Nice clickbait by Wired though. Did they hire some buzzfeed writers recently or what?
This reminds me of the amazing metafilter thread on emotional labor and particularly a comment explaining why sometimes women are too tired for sex with husbands who don't pull their weight at home. Operative quote:
> I pointed out that women are biologically disinclined to have sex with their caretake-ees
The Oregon stuff, basically. The Republican legislators fled the capitol to deny a climate change related bill but the governor is empowered to send the cops after them.
After saying they would indeed send the cops, militia types (3%ers and the like) stated they'd kill cops if they came to get the legislators. The_Donald celebrated this.
There was an article on Monday that pointed this out and bam, they got quarantined two days later.
The one who threw the punch later went on the pose topless for a tabloid newspaper.
Despite this a lot of people here think reddit is some kind of free open forum that is there just to serve It's users... Seriously, we gotta raise awareness about they pushing the narratives they want because there has been an agenda about destroying the level of discussion on reddit. It all started with eliminating being able to see the upvote and downvote rate in order to encourage circle jerking and hide brigades.
Check out saidit and make sure to post there if you can but don't stop posting here either!
I'm actually curious whether anyone knows of another example that is worse without dipping into alt-med/new age/free energy/tabloid sites. (This one popped up in my Google newsstand feed.)
Edit: a few have said that they do not want to give pageviews/ad money to an article so atrocious. Here is an archived version from the Wayback Machine.
This comment on HN on the subject, from another ex-Amazon employee who was also sued, is pretty informative:
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7975428
tldr "Amazon has pursued this particular non-compete "hundreds" of times, and has never [...] prevailed once"; they theorize it's to frighten other employees who consider leaving.
All of it seems odd, but the strong push towards BitLocker is really weird. It's not just on that page, but even when you install this new version you get a message box saying to use BitLocker instead.
And if they're pulling a Lavabit, why the push to BL which is undoubtedly backdoored? Why not just leave it at the "TrueCypt isn't secure! Now you can only decrypt!"?
There's just too much weirdness for this to be legit. See here and here.
Warning: Newcomers from YouTube, post your comments wisely! "Lol that ws and awesome comment" or even "lol" or "haha" Will Get Down-Voted.
This is a good place to get acquainted
They do - among other components. Nevetheless, Samsung is a big corporation with different divisions - each having to try to make a profit. And as long as they can make money - they will sell(make deals) even with Apple. Business is business...

>[HTTPS by default] will be happening. Rolling it out this way allows us to ramp up, get API clients on board, and fix any bugs which might pop up. Forcing it to be default for everyone immediately would be asking for catastrophic failure and rollback.
>Soon.
This is how they did it in Home Alone
>1. The picture Kevin finds of Buzz's girlfriend was actually a picture of a boy made up to look like a girl because the director thought it would be too cruel to make fun of a girl like that.
It’s especially insulting when when its a small token amount just hoping to evangelize in order to increase adoption and thus the value of their “investment”.
Kind of like when someone from your past gets in touch and wants to meet up, but then you discover that they just want to try and recruit you for their multi-level marketing program... It could be a nice gesture until you realize their motives make it self serving and scummy.
Having to pause the video ruins the flow of what was intended. Here's a better option, 1) open this in a new tab music and then go through 40 of the Most Powerful Photographs Ever Taken. Right in the feel.

This article was posted on fittit about a week ago. Seems to corroborate OP's experience. Woman weight lifter is living at poverty level in order to compete.
The ones I've already listed out, probably - plus Jeremy Wade from River Monsters. My 3rd dream job (started out wanting to me an entomologist as a kid, then paleontologist, then finally marine biologist with a focus on fish not mammals- and then realized I was horrible at math and had to go into communications) was focused on fish and I LOVED talking with him about his show!
A lot of this happens because the things are running Real Time OS's that prioritize Data I/O speeds over security. A standard computer is a 'time shared OS'. Which means there is a non deterministic amount of time between and Interrupt happening on the chip level, and the correct program receiving the data.
Writing a secure RealTimeOS is really hard, and only 1 company to date has succeeded and they sold themselves off to blackberry (QNX).
Its nice to go on, and on about system security but sometimes is just impossible, and air gap is all you can have in some situations.
Source: I write code for a lot of these things for a living.
I had this discussion once on Hacker news if you would like to read it here is the link
I'll take that as a dare :)
I got a message from mods:
> When people of a specific gender are made the butt of a joke - in this instance 'divorced men' - it is sexism. Hope that clears things up.
And then they deleted it all anyway and started again. https://thenextweb.com/media/2012/05/21/how-pixars-toy-story-2-was-deleted-twice-once-by-technology-and-again-for-its-own-good/
> After the deletion and restoration of Toy Story 2, the team was likely hoping for an uneventful path to release, but it was not to be.
> In the Christmas of ’98, after the release of A Bug’s Life and the promotional tour was done, John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and legendary story man Joe Ranft all came to the production team to take a look at Toy Story 2.
> It was not a good film. They dedicated the winter vacation to re-writing the project almost entirely from the ground up. Production shut down on December 15th and came back after New Year’s in January, when the story team re-pitched the movie.
It's run by a few employees of that store, not the official Blockbuster company itself
Edit: After further review, u/certified_anus_beef s comment above mine is correct. The Twitter account is not associated with the store in Bend... https://thenextweb.com/shareables/2017/08/04/the-last-blockbuster-might-be-the-funniest-account-on-twitter/amp/ . It's still a super funny Twitter account
What's scarier is the fact that if you don't have a Facebook account, Facebook's face recognition already has a shadow profile of you based on your friend's photo upload/behavior.

I rather thought it had to do with paparazzi prevention. Everyone wants to get pics of Leo's body, so he wore a shirt to make the pictures less valuable. Like how Marilyn Manson walked around LAX with "FUCK" written on his face.
you can actually. just read yesterday about a guy who was banging his brother's fiance for years and didnt say anything until THEIR wedding day. He hasn't spoken to his brother since
Yours was my view to begin with. This changed my view: "When a white supremacist murders blacks or Jews, no one doubts that his murders are driven by his hateful, bigoted ideology. When homophobes attack a gay youth, we rightly label this a hate crime." I still think the rampage was primarily about mental illness, but there's no reason to exclude a discussion about feminism and misogyny from the discourse in our efforts to reduce the frequency of these events.
We don't have to choose between contextualizing this as the act of a mentally ill person and that of a misogynist. It was both. And it's worthwhile to address both misogyny and mental illness in our (apparently futile) hunt for a solution.
Remember though that this is the same amendment the ACLU opposes, citing the significant restrictions it allows congress to place on the first amendment. https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/2fwu46/aclu_urges_no_vote_on_sj_res_19_a_constitutional/
Stanford University researcher trained an AI that picked out gays with 90% accuracy using facial photos. A bit scary actually.
