I have this link that lets you join <strong>without an invite code.</strong> (it just lets you follow the link and click 'Join'). It also joins you to my own community, /t/underdogmusic, but you can easily leave if you're not interested in it.
Snapzu is seriously great and shows a lot of promise. It also helps that it's not trying to be just like reddit. Of course similar communities have popped up from ex-reddit users, but they don't seem to be trying to emulate it exactly, rather grow as a community with its own quirks.
Hey guys, if you're looking for something new that's similar to how Reddit was a few years ago when it was just starting out, my team and I run Snapzu.
We'd love a few more members so hit me up if you'd like an invite and I'll get back to you with one. Cheers!
Me too, thanks.
I'm with my co-mod at Snapzu, /u/FatZombieMama in thinking a stable Voat platform is probably our better choice if we ever have to move again - if only because the commenting interface is more like Reddit's. They do need to keep upgrading, and the look/feel is drab.
That said, you can join /t/freefolk at Snapzu by following this invite link... http://www.snapzu.com/i/4dams/to/freefolk and see for yourselves. It's different, and kinda slick.
Thanks for the reply/feedback, this is exactly what we're looking for!
I've been tweaking the text for about a month now, so this is definitely going to be considered. The actual tools/widgets are still being worked on, so we won't have an example (live case) until the real launch (in approx 4 weeks).
Would adding some links to some of our more popular tribes/communities, such as http://www.snapzu.com/t/books/ be helpful in grasping the concept?
Thanks again.
I still come on here, but I've been spending a lot more time on Snapzu. The ability to cross-post to multiple subsections is an awesome feature. There are also cool features like a rpg system that levels up your profile as you gain experience. The place could probably compete with reddit if more people joined. BTW if anyone wants an invite code, I have some.
This is great news for Reddit but frankly I've moved on. I've discovered the warm embrace of Snapzu. It's basically Reddit if the admins got their shit together and updated the site better.
Better community, better readability, more powerful mod tools, and there's a system that rewards you for contributing to the site.
You still need an invite code but you can grab one at /r/snapzuinvites
I've found http://www.snapzu.com and https://commentum.io/ two really good alternatives. Both have small communities, but they're growing fast. Snapzu appears to be a bit more populous and committed. From yesterday's 'front page' to today's, it's already seeing a night and day difference in content.
