SIMPLETASK A simple task list manager that strives to have just enough features to do GTD
(the Getting Things Done methodology), but no more. Based on the todo.txt app so all info is stored in a single text file called todo.txt.
Not nagging at all! I think I missed that question. I checked the app and it's only got a Dropbox choice.
That said, there is another version of the app (called Cloudless) which I think would store the file locally on the phone which could then be synced elsewhere...
Here's the github of that app too: https://github.com/mpcjanssen/simpletask-android
I'll continue this conversation via email and elsewhere. Anyone else watching this space, feel free to check in on how we're doing!
I use Simpletask by Mark Janssen. It stores data in a plain text file so it's easy if you ever want to switch to another system. It syncs to Nextcloud or Dropbox if you want it to. I think it's open source (https://github.com/mpcjanssen/simpletask-android). It's free. It's good if you don't want companies snooping in on your data or trying to control your note-taking habits.
The SO and I use simpletask, synced via nextcloud in a shared folder.
Entries are just
milk 2 @walmart eggs 12 @farm-shop
You can tick them off in the app and they get sorted all the way to the bottom. You can also easily un-tick them next week, we rarely delete entries.
In a pinch the list is just a simple text file, so you can use just about anything to add/remove entries.
Tjanks for clarifying the subject. I checked on their github where the android version is v1.9.1 from Dec, 13th. While yeah, it's 1.9.3 on GPlay, which I hardly thought would happen taken the additional layers 8-o (wouldn't happen for any mozilla add-on for example)
Guys how many diferent dev channels do/can we have here? Can you further clarify (take me into the wagon)? Eg
Repeating tasks are supported using rec: see https://github.com/mpcjanssen/simpletask-android/blob/master/src/main/assets/index.md The ui doesn't support this yet so you'll have to type it out for now.
Textual timestamps are not supported, but if you add a timestamp with the menu or the buttons there are some common options quickly accessible. (Tomorrow, 1 week, 2 weeks and 1 month)
