8 hours for work. More hours for fun.
Get outside (an increase in time spent outdoors was found to have a protective effect for the onset of myopia). Get a break timer and listen to it. Get an ergonomic setup (keyboard, mouse/trackball, chair, monitor arm, backlight).
Aside from eyesight, you also have rsi to worry about.
As an aside to my normal duties, I'm an ergonomics consultant at my university, which includes workplace performance (from both a physical and mental context). I suggest that folks use a system to force intentional breaks to support both contextual performances; personally, I use (and recommend) Stretchly.
A timer might help you to realize when you've been doing something longer than you'd like.
An app like stretchly will let you setup times to be notified when you need to take a break from your computer.
I developed actual bruxism while on Vyvanse. I cracked teeth. That, combined with intense dry mouth and poor symptom management, led me to switch back to Dexedrine ER.
I still deal with muscle tension, just not located in the jaw. Magnesium at night helps, but really "mindfulness" around my body helped more. (I know that's annoying, just what worked for me.) I use an open-source, free app on my work computer (Stretchly)--it goes off every 30 minutes and reminds me to look away from the screen, drop my shoulders, relax my jaw, etc.
If self help doesn't...well...help, you might consider talking to your doctor about switching meds. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth it. (Sometimes they are--everyone's body reacts differently!)
Cosa fare ogni 30 minuti?
Thanks for the feedback! Maybe some day you'll like doing 750 words (not my project) - a few years back I used it at some point and it has a very therapeutic effect for a while, but I couldn't keep doing it daily because I ran out of things to say (also maybe I was too depressed at the time to have, yk, thoughts). Sadly takes longer than your 2 minute thing, which sounds really good! I'll probably try to do that in some form.
And again, thanks for the thoughts - I guess it would be cool if it could detect your meetings from a calendar and automatically lower the volume by 80% or something. Hopefully if it catches you off guard one day you can just pretend you don't know where it came from :D
There are things like EyeLeo, Workrave, Eyes Relax, and most recently, Stretchly (free, open source, windows, mac, linux) that can be configured to be silent - they're mostly meant as reminders to rest your eyes, but they're equally useful for "oh shit I've been looking at houseboat prices for 20 minutes already". And in case of Stretchly it can go away with just pressing Ctrl-X on windows, so nobody has to know (unless you're sharing your screen - and even then, when it happened in my workplace, people loved it and started using themselves without me pushing it)
I've been using this app Stretchly: https://hovancik.net/stretchly/ It reminds you to take regular breaks. It's easier to slack off when you schedule it.
I also pair this with the StayFocused chrome extension to block access to distracting websites: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stayfocusd/laankejkbhbdhmipfmgcngdelahlfoji?hl=en

You can set it to prevent you from skipping breaks.
I used to use workrave: https://workrave.org/
You can make it lock the screeen, although I haven't used that feature, as I use it for work and have meetings.
It will take longer than you think it should. Im six months out right now and can say with stronger certainty that most symptoms are gone. Just be patient with yourself.
If you do lots of computer work, i recommend the app stretchly. It reminds you to take breaks. You can download it here. It was massively helpful to prevent exacerbating my symptoms.
I have been using a computer app named StretchlyStretchly to remind myself to take.breaks. it works wonders. All the best. I hope you are able to find a good rhythm that works for you.
