A service for converting WoT replays into YouTube videos would be great. Simply one where you can upload them is fine. I thought the same thing, but I A) Don't have the processing power to spare. and B) Doubt if it's worth it. It would probably be immensely popular ... With a feature to upload directly to YouTube under our own account (WorldOfTanksReddit for example) with advertisement for r/WorldofTanks. How would you capture the video?
Edit: Taksi http://taksi.sourceforge.net/ . Beginning to sound more interesting now.. Do you have any Windows machine to test on? (With the required graphics card, and such. We want good quality replays, right?)
I found the source to taksi rather useful as well as properly learning how SetWindowsHookEx and the detours libraries work. The detours help files are actually pretty in depth.
I just installed Taksi. I've only used it for screen captures. but it's the only one I could find that would accurately capture an OpenGL screen.
It's very easy to setup, and free.
The console will stay, but the commands will have to be reworked, since it's mostly a multiplayer game, and the players inventory stays between sessions. I'll probably disable any weapon pickups if you use cheats, so you can still destroy everything while invincible, you just don't keep what you got during that game session.
I used fraps for recording and virtualdub for editing, but I'm looking into alternatives for recording. The only usable alternative I found is Taksi, which is slower than fraps but allows realtime encoding. The website says it doesn't support audio, but the latest dev versions can record sound.
