Not sure if it's maybe one of those person-to-person things where it's based on the lighting in the image, but it's definitely not pink: https://labs.tineye.com/color/f2a4e8421714a2b6b08df3d067a138dd79c5e72b?ignore_background=True&width=250&color_format=hex&ignore_interior_background=True&height=206
Sharpen, bring the whites down a bit + kill highlights. Desaturate (not too much). Expose well. Bring the blacks up to a bit more of a grey (in this case, a brownish-grey). A lot of this is in-camera though.
I didn't think it was desaturated because the palette is so nicely balanced, but check this out: analysis. It seems to be pretty washed out.
Edit: you can do most of this in-camera if you shoot with a flat colour profile.
Set the background as transparent. When making something, use a color extractor, google up the animal you're making, and drag the image there so the extractor tells you the precise colors. Also, Google drawings had guide bars that help you achieve symmetry, use them. There's also this thing called curve tool, which helps you make fins and stuff.
I used rounded squares and crescents for my leatherback skin. Use this for the colors.
No idea on the material... probably some type of leather. The belt and pouch are the same material which supports this.
As for the color, the lighter part is Spring Rain (#a0c6a8) and the darker part is Cactus (#58775f.)
Ran the picture through an online color extractor, so it should be pretty accurate. Link to it.
if you're seeing any purple there, then maybe your monitor colors aren't set properly.
