Sure, it's basically a small book with creative content inside of it. The biggest inspiration for this idea was the Undertale fan zine (https://gumroad.com/l/xNIwG) If you would look into this it would probably make more sense to you!
I'm on my first play through as well, it's really a great game and amazing for a gba title, I Don't get a whole lot of free time so I usually end up playing about 20 minutes - half an hour in bed each night and what I think is so great about it is that it's always delivering you a fresh experience through each part of the game, while some of the random encounters can get a little repetitive, the gameplay as a whole keeps moving at a comfortable pace, a lot of other RPGs don't do this very well and you can end up reading for what seems like an eternity or going over the same ground, same puzzles etc.. Golden sun keeps it fresh and it makes you want to progress to the next part of the quest.
Don't over think it just relax and enjoy the game, if you ever get stuck try this Android app for a good guide/walkthrough, though the game is actually pretty straightforward
MyBoy. Then download a rom and away you go! Download a rom on your Android phone, and then find it on your device in the MyBoy app.
BTW if you didn't know this already, FAQr is a really great Android app for reading walkthroughs and guides on all games including GBA games like golden sun, I'm currently trying to figure out where I'm up to..
Like the game explains: psychic energy. So the "psy" would be like in the word "psychic" - it sounds more like "sigh." And the "nergy" as it is in the word "energy." You're saying "synergy", which carries a completely different meaning
What I did was on my iPhone I went to this website It's the official website for GBA4iOS and then I went to download, and that was how I got it on my phone. You might have to spoof it and change the date setting to backwards a day in order to get it to work, but make sure you change it back.
Then you click on the search at the top to enter your homepage (which you can change in settings, I think by default it's set to google.) You can now search for roms, and download them directly from the internet.
If you want a patched rom like I did, I had to get on my computer and patch it, then put it in dropbox. Then from the search function in the app, I navigated to my dropbox and downloaded it from there.
I used a maximum amount of 10 sound channels for "Sol Swordian" (the song actively uses about 8 channels most of the time), it's usually the raw samples playing without any additional plugins and, in some instances of the song, just the same instrument playing on 2 channels for the delay/echo effect.
FYI, I used OpenMPT (Open ModPlug Tracker) for composing, I'm just used to the tracker format since I also compose chiptunes (Deflemask and Famitracker). Honestly, I haven't used any VSTs or DAWs yet, just the aforementioned trackers.
Just listened to a few of your Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean covers, they're really nice!
Yep, his tri-ace work is among his finest (especially Star Ocean Second Story and Valkyrie Profile imo, also very nostalgic for the original SNES Star Ocean) and, yeah, I might plan to compose something with the SNES Star Ocean/Tales of Phantasia soundfont in the near future.
You can also check my other compositions on Soundcloud and hearthis.at, so far I've been mainly composing chiptunes (Sega Genesis/NES stuff).
If you're still interested in this, I found this guide here, that provides many different possibilities. Arguably, I'd say that the equipment I posted above is the best in the game. So the best build would be to tinker around with that stuff above and give it to the characters as required. (Leda's Bracelets to those who use Wind Psynergies, Riot Gloves to anyone attacking in melee, PP regen based on PP usage, valuing the attack stat on Necromage above nearly all else, etc.)
Well, thanks for your contributions. I really liked your party's class distribution, and it made me look deeper into this.
Belated Happy New Year!
Yeah that's an observation I've had for a while myself. I can certainly say, with what I have in mind for my game, there are many mechanics I have in mind to carry on the spirit of GS' combat, while doing a little bit of it's own thing. I won't go into detail though as parts of it can be subject to change, but I want to heavily revamp the turn system, magic, and everything to make it much more tactical and based on risk versus reward. :)
The other reason is I don't want to 1-to-1 copy GS, else I face a legal team if you catch my drift lol. But I hope you guys like it. :) You can catch this though for a very small taste of what I hope to do visually, (it was for an introductory programming course I took last term) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/266702539/
It's a problem with the emulator. The latest version of mGBA includes interface blending that fixes this problem, at least according to this.
Finally got them all done, very happy on how they turned out since I had no clue what to do with the paint effects ( mostly Mercury and Jupiter)
These are all 3D printed in a classic FDM ( regular plastic printer), so a lot of smoothing process is involved, still not enough for my taste.
Seen the demands, I'm planning to mold and cast them in resin( masters would be done little bigger and with resin printer), did not calculate yet what the price would be,
as I have to take in consideration the amount of people that would actually take them ( + material price and handwork of defaults repair/paint).
If I get that far, I'll maybe open an Etsy or something, don't know what the best options are ( anyone got a clue ? )

3D models are made by: https://cults3d.com/fr/utilisateurs/Starjeff3D/cr%C3%A9ations (already asked and approved the use of his models )

Some of the models gonna have a little rework for some shapes.

Hope you like them !
No idea on the material... probably some type of leather. The belt and pouch are the same material which supports this.
As for the color, the lighter part is Spring Rain (#a0c6a8) and the darker part is Cactus (#58775f.)
Ran the picture through an online color extractor, so it should be pretty accurate. Link to it.
It’s on Amazon as well as the publisher website but the first print sold out on the publisher website (I guess they’re printing a second run though). Probably easier to get it from Amazon.
