Wow!!! That's so exciting. I'm wishing you the best of luck on your first job and this new chapter of your life! The art is from https://undraw.co/ It's an open-source design project which allows you to use their svg images for free and without attribution. Also, I'm not a software developer haha. I'm actually a quantitative analyst for an investment company, but I dont think I can really use my job skills to make ncity more enjoyable.
Yes!! That's a wonderful suggestion so thank you for that.
Both MIT licensed and can be used commercially, don't forget to give the author some credit if you're able to. Awesome projects!
Also, you can take a look at tympanus.net for some freebies, they mention the license, so check and see if it's something you can use...
None that I can think of. I use material.io icons with pexles.com images, and now undraw.co illustrations. If you're not familiar with all three sites, check em out!
I don't think there's an actual name for this style (yet). Something like 'flat vector illustrations' might sum it up.
There's this awesome resource website where you can get illustrations like this one for free: https://undraw.co/illustrations
Other than that, you can always google, there must be tons on Shutterstock or other stock websites.
You can find/generate color palettes on colorhunt or coolors or generate a Material color palette.
I think the easiest solution for the design would be using the predefined Material widgets since Material design is a cross-platform design system. Therefore you don't need to worry about paddings, margins, font sizes. Just use the default ThemeData. It will be basic but correct in terms of UX.
You can also use Material icons (also included in the Flutter SDK).
For open source illustrations you can use undraw where you can match the selected illustrition with your primary color.
There are app logo generators too, but based on my experience they're not good.
Resources:
https://undraw.co/illustrations for all pics
I edited them as SVG in adobe illustrator to match my skin colour, hairstyle, and hair colour.
That's everything I used. I liked the result so I thought I could share my result :)
btw if you ask what daily resonance is:
like many other users, I have a daily resonance calendar. But mostly add smth into it and don't review the old stuff. But without reviewing it, it is not as useful as it could be. So I build a small formula, and now I get every day a new resonance from my resonance calendar that reminds me of that information. With that, I practise it in spaced repetition and hopefully never forget that important information :)
The landing page is too verbose, steals away from the CTA. Try cutting down on the verbosity, maybe add some illustrations.
I was bored so did a simple redesign - https://imgur.com/UvQ57PS
Also, Compile squad with no playlist throws an Internal Server Error, can be handled better. Compile Squad with just one playlist also failed. Did not try further.
The Compile squad button could be below the playlists, so that the UX is in flow - Squad name, list of playlists, add new playlist option, and then compile squad.
Maybe get rid of the card design for squad name, squad leader info.
Delete icon in the playlist card seems too big.

The OP can easily learn how to replicate a hero like this in a couple of days for free. The reality is the internet is swamped with off the shelf design assets. These assets can be quickly put together/edited to create designs without a professional graphic designer or illustrator.
While the turtle necks shit the bed over this concept, the rest of us are using stuff like https://undraw.co/
This is r/web_design not r/graphic_design or r/Illustration

You can find open-source illustrations like that on https://undraw.co/
I'm not sure about the style name but you'll find a lot of similar websites/themes under the following categories: app, app landing, Saas, design agency, crypto
For icons, it makes sense to copy/paste the svg and place it inline. So no longer via font libraries. See e.g. https://heroicons.com/ . Or use the heroicon gem to keep your erb cleaner.
For images ( https://undraw.co/illustrations ) , you can use partials or the inline_svg gem.
These are vector art or vector illustrations. A great resource for free illustrations similar to these would be https://undraw.co/ and all of their illustrations can have their color changed from a hexcode. Lmk if this helps!
Thank you, good feedback! I removed the buttons from the input field. For the top illustration I used unDraw (https://undraw.co/). They got great looking open source illustrations :)

Thanks for the site, it's awsome. A similar website I use all the time ( undraw.co) but it have illustrations. Btw all the content is open source so no need to worry about copyright issues.
Hey TuningUP, thank you for taking time to provide feedback! The color palette feedback was quite helpful :)
The illustrations are from Undraw (https://undraw.co/). It's an open source library, so there's no cost in using it.

Here’s the tldr from the license page:
> If you are working on something and want to use illustrations to improve its appearance, modified or not, without the need for attribution or cost, you are good to go. If you find unDraw or its illustrations to be in the center of what you are doing (e.g. sell or re-distribute one/some of them, add them in an app), then you probably should not proceed.
So it seems that’s the case. But always read the actual license before doing so
The overall identity feels off.
Lacks of contrast and hierarchy ( everything looks the same, my mind doesn't understand what's important to read )
The hero illustration isn't good. Try one of these for example, free to use https://undraw.co/illustrations
The UX is good, but the UI could be improved a lot
Thanks!
Oh, yes, I forgot the graphics. They are definitely not mine. The home page SVGs are from https://undraw.co/illustrations
The masks are a stock image so not readily available. I can dig out the designer if you're looking for them. These did require a little bit of editing to switch colours and normalise sizes and spacing as much as possible and for that I used Affinity Designer
Hey!
I used this tool I just found out about to give you feedback: https://app.usebubbles.com/7b12d2e1-4ed5-4ca9-a20a-e7449c981286
I only posted "negative" things because it was way easier this way. However, I just wanted to say that apart from my comments, everything looks good, the content is easy to read, the images are pretty good (even if undraw.co is a little bit overused these days).
The only thing I didn't put is that the Bubbles thing is that the text (in gray) is very hard to read. Maybe take a shade a little bit darker.
Not that I know of, but there are such sites for normal graphics, example:
https://gallery.manypixels.co/ https://undraw.co/
I have considered making this sort of thing for background graphics, but I could never find enough people that are interested in it to justify the project. Do you think there is substantial demand for it?
You could make use of fill color in svgs to set up some different palettes for your illustrations, so people could pick and choose a color or something along those lines. Like they do on https://undraw.co/illustrations
Great idea. I imagine there's some limitation on the distance of the course 😜
Landing page copy is great. Gets the idea across perfectly and I can see the value, even though I'm not a golfer. The header text on the background is illegible. The green isn't a great shade with the dark background (or with the blue text), and generally the site is a little dark. When I think golf, I think sun & blue skies. Pick brighter images with a white background and if you can't find better images (from somewhere like pexels.com) then use undraw.co
Get rid of the fade effects on the FAQ. They're distracting
Have pricing, not contact for quote. I imagine you'll have a mobile app at some point for convenient scheduling. You can price based off how often people golf, what range you'll travel, and how much warning a person should give. I'd think that offering a washing service would be appreciated
Settle for quick fixes in regards to design. Get free mocks and designs from open licensed services like https://unsplash.com/ and https://undraw.co
Learn some marketing basics from something like marketing for engineers , so you at the least have enough knowledge to start writing out a plan and know what you want from your cofounder.
> how/where did you find the people with a talent for the more important parts of starting a startup
Literally everywhere mate. My advice is not to start from scratch with a cofounder. Rather build your mvp, get one or a few clients and then find someone for sales/acquisition/marketing. I prefer to split profit with someone doing sales, rather than equity. Work intimately with someone before offering equity imo.
Already having 1 client and a MVP built, will also give you a lot more leeway when negotiating with someone doing sales. As you've already put in the work.
> Your business savvy, social media gurus with a knack for building brands and traction.
Stop worrying about your branding, social media, online acquisition for the time being. If your product allows this that is. For a plethora of products, your branding/online marketing won't be important for a long while though.

ps: would love to hear your idea!
The undraw.co vectors seem used all over the web now but I could be experiencing Baader–Meinhof effect. Is there something better?
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your feedback.
I did not code the website or the application, I created fairly detailed mockups / wireframes and a list of requirements and worked closely with a developer who built it all out!
The illustrations are actually free, you can get them here: https://undraw.co/
There was a large set of them released for free fairly recently: https://undraw.co/illustrations
They are all vector-based, so the color can change easily—note the color picker in the header of the site.

Your animated background is stuttering on my Firefox.
I would align the footer content to the right, and replace or increase the size.
On Services/bespoke...replace the the images that are being used as icons with this free vectors.
Tweak the fonts more so you can have more consistency in all pages. I
