Are you just guessing on channels or using an actual scanner app? This was well worth $4 for me to find the cleanest channels at various locations...

There may be a lot of WiFi crowding where you live. Download a tool like Network Stumbler (Windows) or WiFi Scanner to see if there are any free channels. Set your router to use the emptiest one available.
