My girlfriend recently come across this book in a used book store. I dropped the map of SF in r/sanfrancisco and u/cosileone made a request for NYC. Being my home state, thought I’d drop this here for everyone to enjoy, or get pissy about and complain.
ill find out if it will.
I am using a projectile motion calculator https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/trajectory-projectile-motion
Looks like 25 degree angle the bridge that is up.
From The top of the vertical bridge to the road looks about 20feet.
At 50 mph it can travel 162 feet before it drops 20 feet in height to the road.
B. , is there a second draw thing that is up but not in the photo. If so, it can not drop any feet at all, if the draws are at the same height. That would mean it could travel around 125 feet.
So as long as the gap is either less than 162 in case A or 125 feet in case B. The car will make it.
Uhhh there's an app that lets you get around that, you put in your current balance and it gives you like the next 3 options up of how much to put on so the balance comes out to $0... I haven't had anything but multiples of $2.75 on my card for years, because why would I? Edit: not sure if it still works, but I was told MTA is getting rid of bonuses anyways: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roxbury.apps.metroreload

Research shows that it is actually more annoying to hear only half of a conversation because your brain is trying to fill in the other side and predict what the response will be.
Here's a PDF version of the list, if you prefer.
Here's an alternate PDF link. You might have to download it first before viewing it correctly though.
The document is close to the 100 user limit (did not expect it to be so popular!) If you can't get in, try refreshing.
This is misleading because the iPhone dots are actually on top of (and thus hiding) the Android dots. Here is the interactive map; try turning off the iPhone layer to see for yourself. As posted the picture only really tells you that iPhone users don't go as much to poor areas.
The clear ones are actually awesome to use, too. I carry my baby and hold the dome over both of us - you get more coverage since you can see through the umbrella. Mine comes down a bit more though (Totes Signature Clear Umbrella)
Yes.
But heres something worse. It's a worm. You drink it's eggs in contaminated water. It burrows through your stomach, enters your blood stream, circulates through your body and lands in your foot.
Then it digs through your feet. One day you look down, and see a fucking worm poking its heads out from between your toes. So you run to the nearest body of water to try and drown the demon spawn. As soon as the worm hits the water, it releases thousands of eggs, contaminating the water and infecting dozens of more people.
Westfield paid $600 million to the Port Authority for the retail space, and the Port Authority still gets a share of the profits. NYU studied this and found that the Port Authority will recoup at least 97% of the tax dollars put into the entire WTC project.
>The up-front costs incurred by the PA in rebuilding have been high. Nevertheless, our analysis suggests that the PA is likely to recover, on a net present value basis, almost all of the money it has invested from its own resources in the World Trade Center. Moreover, the complex will for decades to come be a major generator of tax revenues for both New York City and New York State (and to a lesser extent, for New Jersey).Ten years ago, no one anticipated that redevelopment of the World Trade Center would produce such a favorable set of outcomes.
But please, don't let that stop the circlejerk
None. I also found it on Amazon just now. I would buy off Amazon if given the choice, since their return policy and customer support is superb.

The NY Times article only focuses on the "Jewtropolis" portion of it. Engadget and Ars have some of the other, less dog-whistle-y changes...
> One vandal with the username MedwedianPresident was recently blocked after committing a series of changes to roadway names and other map details in New York, including changing the name of the Manhattan Bridge to "Ku Klux Klan Highway," changing the name of Franklin Delano Roosevelt Drive to "Zionist Cannibal Drive," and renaming the Hugh Carey Tunnel (formerly the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel) to "Adolph Hitler Memorial Tunnel," among other things.
and...
> An additional change that was caught re-labeled lower Manhattan as "“INSIDE JOB.”

I got you: The New York Nobody Knows. As a sociologist myself, I actually thought the parts that read more like a memoir (walking with his dad) were the most compelling.
This guy happened to be doing it around a similar time, I think.
Not a lawyer. But:
> .2. "Mechanical overhearing of a conversation" means the intentional overhearing or recording of a conversation or discussion, without the consent of at least one party thereto, by a person not present thereat, by means of any instrument, device or equipment.
>We now reverse. It is not unlawful to eavesdrop on telephone conversations with the consent of one of the parties to the conversation [...], nor is the tape recording evidence in this case to be excluded because the consenting party, who was a government employee, may have acted contrary to the rules of her employer [...]
Unlawful surveillance does not apply, as there was no right to privacy expected and no one was getting undressed. Unless…
That said: Judges in New York state have a right to throw out recordings even if they had one-party consent at the time of the recording. I doubt it would need to go to court over it.
Your Human Resource department should investigate the claim regardless if you have a recording or not. If there was more than one person there, there'd have to be a lot of people denying your claim. The recording would be nice insurance in that scenario.
Also: Talk to a lawyer now. You may not need to do anything like this to have a claim—and if you try to provoke someone into doing it again just for a recording, it could hurt your chances of getting a fair shake.

I very distinctly remember 80 degree temperatures into mid October last year. I think it's (relatively) normal. Seasonal lag and living on an island tend to delay seasons.
Here is the weather last year on this date:
https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/ny/central-park/KNYC/date/2017-10-7
Almost identical to today!
10/7/2017: High: 81 Low: 66
10/7/2018: High: 79 Low: 66
In fact, looking at the forecast, it looks like our fall temperatures (Low 60s, 50s) are arriving at the exact same date as last year ~ October 12.
I got a temperature regulator and a window fan. Now its comfortable in my room in the winter.

Hey there, thanks so much for your support! Truly honored! Lots of thoughts on this.
First of all, most voters don’t pay attention to the candidates until the final weeks leading up to election day - so now’s the time where getting through to voters really matters, and we’re doing that. We came into the race late, and didn’t have millions of dollars behind us, so we won’t get the big flashy press or having the prime time TV ads. Instead, we’ve focused 100% of our efforts on talking to voters directly - some in-person, but the majority online, like this AMA. We’ve been DMing thousands of voters over twitter, linkedin, and instagram, which is much more efficient (in both time and money) than door knocking, and that direct personal connection really resonates with people.

Another part of our plan is working with the other progressive candidates, like Joycelyn Taylor. Yesterday, she and I announced our cross-endorsement of each other, and we’re interested in adding a third to our slate, so we can consolidate votes for a progressive outcome. And lastly, you may have seen the NY Times piece yesterday, where pollsters admitted to having no clue how to poll this race, and have no clue how Ranked-Choice Voting will play into the outcome.
I’m not naive, but I do think the polling has not been accurate, and we’re going to shock people by how much we punch above our weight.

Because they got to Penn Station first. They wanted to do the same thing to Grand Central, and pretty much the entirety of NYC was like, "Fuck That" and protested.
You have no chance. They begin distributing tickets at 1pm, and if you're not on line by 10am you probably won't get tickets. This is what my friend did when he came to visit a few years ago. He was in line for hours.

Your recommendation to buy makes sense for people with the financial means to do so. But a great deal of people don't even have adequate savings for emergency expenses, let alone enough for a 20% downpayment on a mortgage.
Per the Federal Reserve, nearly half of Americans would struggle to cover an emergency expense of $400 (https://www.fool.com/retirement/general/2016/03/11/the-average-americans-saving-habits-9-scary-statis.aspx)
With that in mind, there will always be a huge population of renters in NYC. Instead of limiting the supply of housing through rent control & overzealous zoning restrictions, I think people should be focusing more on how we can increase the supply of housing, build better transportation infrastructure to make affordable housing elsewhere more accessible, or increase incomes.

Well, to be fair, Obama massively decreased the number of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan (see the last graph). He's made some stupid interventions since (Libya) but none of them have resulted in a war on the scale of the completely unnecessary wars that George Bush started.
Obama wasn't perfect, but if you opposed sending American troops to die in foreign wars, his presidency was pretty good for you.
This is correct. The subway train schedules are updated every few months IIRC. There is no real-time service data other than this: http://mta.info/status/serviceStatus.txt
The service statuses are usually pretty delayed (Like the L train would be out for an hour and you wouldn't seen an update until then), you're better off trying to pull service delays from their Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/#!/NYCTSubwayScoop
You really can't make people's experiences better when the data you're providing is pretty shitty.
I know they have those new service screens now (whatever they're called) on the platforms that indicate how many minutes until the next train. The L line also has those screens that show you where the train is in the system. I'm not sure what data these are pulling off of, but if developers could get access to them then we'd have some real meat to work with.

Yes sometimes but I try to focus on what I like. I think it's about finding your community(s). I have a solid gym community, and then with my main friends I do House of Yes or other similar stuff in Brooklyn, or friends / house parties, some cultural events / thursday art night openings etc, and then find events that align with my niche interests on Instagram or through my friends. There are a so many things I'm not doing. But the things I am doing (or the personalized blend of activities I am doing), I know are kinda only possible in NYC. So even though I'm not doing EVERYTHING, I am doing a bunch of stuff that I couldn't do anywhere but NYC.

FOMO will never go away, and sure, some of that is unfortunately about money. But again I think it's about finding good communities that align with your interests. Regardless of what your interests are (even if they're chilling and reading), you can find people who are doing that as well, and to me, being able to find people who are a) really awesome to be around but also b) have similar interests to you - even the super niche ones - is one of the best ways to take advantage of NYC.

I've been here about 10 years and pretty much all the awesome scenes and activities I've gotten into have resulted from connecting with people who share my niche interests. Photography, clothing, cycling, jiu jitsu, psychedelics, art events, etc. Each one of those things has helped me take part in incredibly amazing experiences. Stuff you can't find on Meetup.com, stuff you can't just drop into as a random. So yes, I might not be doing everything, but I can honestly say I've had MANY incredible, rare, special only in NYC type situations. And I think everyone can. But you need to be authentic about what you're into, and put the time / effort into becoming a part of whatever community is is.

What kind of stuff are you into?
When i moved here from the country my cat was really depressed too. That's why I adopted a second pet.
You're not missing anything. Besides the gross hot dogs that are overpriced and not even as good as they used to be, this book cites a DNA test that found 0% crustacean DNA in their "lobster roll" (it's 100% white fish). So, I figure it's a safe bet that they're lying about what everything else is, too.

It's called the Mpemba effect, and the only question is what causes it, not if it exists, but, as seen in my first link, in late October of 2013, some scientists may have figured out what causes it.
Great decision. I'm glad the city is doing everything it can to make this uncontroversial and respectful, although I had heard stories about the city not allowing first responders into the ceremony either.
According to Weatherspark, the exact time period that fits his criteria is the last two weeks of September.
This Intercept Op-Ed about Guiliani's media appearances at the end of last year can help give you a sense of both why people don't like him now and why people didn't like him during his tenure. The thing I remember most about Guiliani's tenure is him defending the NYPD after the assaults and/or killings of unarmed black men Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, and Patrick Dorismund. Most black people I know, including myself, never really forgave him for that. If Giulianni had any compassion, he sure didn't show it- he seemed more intent being viewed as "tough". Bloomberg at least showed some sympathy, calling, for example, the 2006 Sean Bell shooting "inexplicable" and "unacceptable."

Don't forget to use the Reported NYC app whenever you find drivers blocking a bike lane illegally, and putting people in danger.
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/reported/id916072964?ls=1
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cab.reported.nyc
Obviously that's only a stopgap measure for now, since any real solution would make the lanes physically impossible to block.
$125/night on E51st, $130/night on W87th, $142/night on E31st, $131/night on E17th, $149/night on W56th, $117/night on W17th, $122/night on W97th
And that's Manhattan, you have even more options if you go to Longisland City or Brooklyn or Queens.
And yes, you get more amenities/bigger space...no shit. But again, I was talking solely about the price. Now let's look at airbnb listings under $120.
Just a bunch of shitholes which are either tiny or a mess....or places that are in Harlem. So you aren't even winning when it comes to room size or amenities. And there are only 21 options...and if you don't want to be stabbed and eliminate any place that has no reviews...you are down to just 7 options
I lived in CT for five years before moving to NYC, and came down to the city pretty regularly. I always found it tiring. The people were mean, the weather was gross, the subway made no fucking sense, I'd blow way more money than I wanted to, and by the time I got home I'd need a day long vacation to rest from my weekend.
I moved to NYC, and within a month loved it. There is an ebb and a flow to the city. When visiting, I'd always been pushing against it—now I move with it. People are rather nice, just in a hurry. The subway is open 24 hours and gets you anywhere. There are cheap and free things to do if you know how to look. The Metro North takes me to nature and hiking trips whenever I want. I love living here, but only because I've let NYC change me, and have accepted that NYC doesn't love me.
Also, the weather is still shit.
Tried to take it with the longphone but there wasn't nearly enough light, so I ran back home and grabbed my Nikon D90. I stitched this together from nine very hastily shot photos, using a tool called hugin.

Article says he was making a few thousand a week last year.
They don't seem to define what "made" means (it could count all round trips without netting out losses) but it is near zero probability that this kid has earned (reported to IRS) and paid taxes on $72 million.
This is also legal, and a lot more lethal and intimidating than a keychain (last three fingers through large opening, thumb and first finger wrapped around - but not through - small opening). Here's another one. Carry with a related book or some supplies just for plausible deniability. You can get something similar in a dollar store - not as durable, but still very lethal - make sure to get the large size, not something smaller. Not saying you should carry or use, but since you were asking about legal weapons, that is one of them, and definitely would be a deterrent if you had that in hand in a dangerous situation and you looked like you wouldn't hesitate to use it. (But note: Initial awareness is best, avoidance is next, escape is next, use of a blinding light is next, pepper spray is next and an actual wounding weapon is last - as far as desirable safety tactics.) Also get and read 'The Gift of Fear' - you can get it used and cheap on Amazon and it's a classic. Mostly about awareness and listening to one's own gut.
I remember that -- and then, Rudy and Bush took a page from The Shock Doctrine, and played Americans for fools.
little know fact: the only reason Guiliani got elected the first time, was because secession from NYC was on the ballot on Staten Island, and there was a ginormous republican turn-out there.

Someone got a hold of the full indictment and put it on scribd. In my humblest of opinions it's probably not as bad as you might imagine it is, but I still believe it is not for the faint of heart or people who were a victim of child sex crimes/molestation/etc.

bands in town is one I have heard good things about. Also the livenation or ticketmaster apps are supposed to be good. Although I think you need to "like" or follow specific artists to get notifications - they might also make recommendations based on songs you have downloaded.
And historic preservation zoning throughout the country!
>There are many important Brennan decisions on land use, but none so celebrated as his 1978 decision in Penn Central Transportation Co. v. New York City - better known as the Grand Central case, in which the Supreme Court upheld for the first time the principle on which landmark preservation laws are based. When a city declares a building like Grand Central to be a landmark, Justice Brennan declared, it is acting for the public good. The burden that landmark designation places on an owner must be balanced against the public benefits that can come from saving a building like Grand Central Terminal.

There's no requirement to identify yourself to any cop who decides to ask for no reason. Only when being detained on reasonable suspicion of a crime. (If you're not sure whether you are being detained, you can ask whether you're being detained or are free to go. Here's a description of the three levels of interaction with a police officer: contact, detention, and arrest).
The best article on this whole video thing was from a sociology professor who basically said the video is bullshit, designed to go viral, and only serves to edit down footage to a standpoint the creators already had. Link is here
Almost all the footage is shot on 125th St in Harlem; and all the white men were edited out because their behavior wasn't creepy "enough" to sensationalize. The professor analyzes it as she would any other sociological study, and says the methods, sample pool, and thesis are all way too manipulated to ever be taken seriously. She also chimes in on what this article mentions, that it's men of low socioeconomic status who're targeted, and all the implications there.
Very outside chance.
Heres an article from wunderground that gets into it.
Fun fact, the wunderground commenters are usually amateur meteorologists and theyre fun to read.
Just to provide some context:
Native American population had crashed hard before the fist settlements of North America really too hold: https://plot.ly/~anabeatriz/10/native-american-population-decline.png
By the of Jamestown in the early 1600s and the Mayflower in the 1620s, they were pretty much all gone. The land, by then, was pretty much empty.
Unfortunately, disease spread up from south and central America (where there was far more contract with Europeans at that time) like wildfire; faster than the Europeans could travel, even. Most tribes that were wiped out had been so without even seeing a European.
> In some instances, the spread of disease preceded the arrival of European settlers. For example, the tribes of Massachusetts and other parts of New England experienced epidemics that killed up to 90 percent of the indigenous population between 1600 and 1620, before the Puritans and other groups colonized the region.
Of course, there were atrocities against the native peoples, but in context, that was only a small portion of them that were eliminated through actual, intentional genocide.
This was the one time last winter where there was significant snow, and all 30 inches melted soon afterwards. The average high temperature last winter was 47 degrees. This winter is actually cooler thus far.
Girlfriend, and i had been to amsterdam back in '10, stayed in a hotel. It was okay.
We decided this time to try airbnb. Difference is night & day.
We stayed a block from the oude kerk which is in the heart of the red light district, basically. Stayed in an awesome loft apartment where the terrace had a perfect view of the clock tower.
the host rutger left the fridge stocked, with drinks, snacks, etc. awesome place, for a really good price.
I'm an airbnb believer.
Edit: here is the place in amsterdam we stayed at.

I doubt you’ll actually learn something because you’re a dolt that likes conspiracy theories.
You should read "The Shock Doctrine" if you haven't - it seems that post-Apartheid the previous government of SA negotiated with Mandela's government to keep things the same economically. For example, they negotiated lifetime pensions for Apartheid government workers; these now make up a large chunk of SA's ongoing debt.
On the surface, things were better for South Africans (no segregation, for example,) but economically things became and have gotten much worse. To say that their suffering has ended is simply false...more are now displaced, more are without water and electricity, etc. Every time the government mentioned nationalizing industries, etc. to make things better for their own citizens, the worldwide markets would cause a hit to their currency, thereby maintaining the status quo.
What I took from it is that those in power will paint things in a pretty light to appease the international community while maintaining power for themselves.

Totally, but there's the whole everyone doesn't have the ability to "just throw money at it," which perpetuates inequality. I don't have an opinion either way, it's a great opportunity for someone who's coming up short in the psych or ed space, or someone who really just wants to work closely, like a tutor or mentor - in a way there's an opportunity for everyone in this city. However, you need to consider how jobs like this perpetuate disparity outlined in this article.
I will forever be a tourist in your fine city. I've probably been 40+ times and every single time it's like my first. My last trip this past July was my first time actually going up ESB. Amazing views... I might go back again this summer.

I spoke too soon! I had not looked at these photos in a while and thought that they were of the west side highway. Turns out they are from the construction of Riverside drive. Here is a link, in case you're still interested: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMmYjKodHZQZ1pIsIuZvJeaJPgIsdrRkZPEuIr0h3jENj-P6uoSAGa-YFim9OkDLw?key=ZXZRak93SndqVTB3WlY1b1lHUllDd1ROajY4UTBn
Microcenter in Yonkers has a great selection and really good price (Like a retail version of newegg), you can get there by taking the 4 train to woodlawn (last stop) , going downstairs and taking the White plains bound 20 bee line bus to the following location on the map
Once you are there you just go up those red stairs you see on the map and it's right there. You then get the bus back at macys (bedford park bound) and hop back on the 4.
This is great but I am confused. If it is illegal to run air bnb out of your apartment, and all these people are using air bnb, why not just look them up?
I know that sounds dumb but I feel like im missing something.
Like this person:
Why isent she getting a fine right now?
there are couple of russian stores up in Washington Heights but you really need to make your way to Brooklyn - Net Cost Market, there are 4 locations my favorite one is by Neptune Ave (E on googlemap) and to get there is pretty easy - take B or Q all the way to the end, seriously, you will not be disappointed!
Washington Heights: Moscow on the Hudson, West 181st Street, New York, NY and Food Palace 4407 Broadway - these are pretty small but you will get your pelmeny and marinated mushrooms by the pound or in cans
edit:words and more locations
hotel prices in any rich urban metropolis are high. it's not like you can go to london or tokyo and find reasonable hotel rates
although tokyo does have a solution: those micro hotel rooms that are literally small coffin pods you climb into. there would have to be some legal wrangling to get those introduced into nyc, but that would definitely be a cheaper option
Disclamer: I AM NOT A LAWYER.
I skimmed through the legal terms of the Common Creative license that Youtube automatically appends to all videos. I believe "CC BY" is the type that Youtube uses and in layman's terms it means that:
Asking for permission is considered a courtesy, but for news organizations, I assume it's a legal ass-covering ("does the owner of the video really want their name/username all over the 11 o' clock news? Let's be certain.")
As for the Gothamist, as long as they credit the original author, they're a-ok.
Going to atlantic city for IPL3: origins
Its a starcraft 2 tournament, but I'm splitting my time with poker/drinking as well. Also, if anyone was interested the tickets are free now.
According to this http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/53rd-6th-halal-cart-nyc-combo-platter-chicken-lamb-pita-lettuce-yellow-rice-3870749
Each platter has over 2000 calories with approx 40g fat. So if that's the only thing you eat in a day, you'll be ok calorie wise. It has virtually no other vitamins / nutrition than protein and fat though.
The two awnings in question are here. You'll need at least a 100mm lens (as did your father) to flatten the background like that. Unfortunately, the corner of 7th and 34th has since been cluttered with even more obtrusive advertising. The curtainwall (glass and aluminum) building in the background is 1 penn plaza, and it may be more obscured by the ads than it was then, but there should still be a clear shot of some of it.
Strip Club just don't spend your train fare.

Completely unrelated, but : Cognitive Dissonance
Don't feel bad. Almost literally everyone is using it wrong.
edit: wait - I didn't even read the parent comment. derp derp derp.
Each train car alone costs ~1.5 million bucks and most trains are more than eight cars, that's ~10 million bucks for each train. Damn, I had no idea these were so expensive.
Big discussion in the neighborhood. One day it was there, the next day the marquee was empty and there were signs saying “Theater closed today”. So we hoped it was temporary.
A friend and I were discussing and thinking maybe a Loews or similar movie Corp would take it over. Though I loved the indie movies they’d screen, and the half-price matinees.
Found the source link through some sleuthing.

Me too! So much wasted real estate that could be really valuable.
One of my dreams is to buy the roof of a high rise office building and build one of those pre-fab houses on amazon on it. It's probably foolish for a lot of reasons but oh well.
Yeah those lifetime ones seem sketch. I use NordVPN, paid a hundred bucks for 3 years because it's supposed to be the best. Their android app has an option to automatically connect when you join an unsecured wifi network. Works great so far, no speed issues.
It would have to do alot more to unseat Transit which has timetables and routes for pretty much everything as well as data from both Bus Time and Subway Time.
Lift up the top of the stove, unless the stove is new, it is one of the best places to check out for mice droppings. Supers never lift this up and clean it and no one looks here but mice love it. There are tons of food and grease drippings in here and its dark. This is much easier than moving the appliances themselves. Look to see in the building entryway what exterminator services are offered. You should have monthly, or bi-monthly exterminator services, this will fend off the buggers as well.
This is one that has always perplexed me: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=11201&hl=en&ll=40.690995,-73.99174&spn=0.002843,0.006539&sll=40.697488,-73.979681&sspn=0.727779,1.674042&hnear=Brooklyn,+New+York+11201&t=m&z=18&layer=c&cbll=40.690972,-73.9916...
The glass doors are always locked, I've never seen anyone coming or going . I guess it's the newer nicer way to close down a subway entrance?
Harriman state park is a great place to go thats nearby. Just planned a hike for next week starting in Tuxedo via NJT Jervis line (or car).
Thank you for all your questions. I’m so grateful for your interest, time and energy. I’m going to have to sign off now -- I apologize that I didn’t get to all the questions, but you can keep asking me anything by signing up for my Zoom Open Office Hours! Sign up here!
Looks like the walkway between Robert Moses SP and the Fire Island lighthouse.
Anyone want to participate in a documentary?
I'm a documentary filmmaker creating a feature length film composed entirely of community video submissions submitted daily as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. We are looking for people (anyone!) to submit daily or at least frequent short videos documenting and discussing their lives during this pandemic. Everyone is in this together but experiencing so many different things, so we want to use the power of cell phones and the internet to create a global picture of how humans are fighting and coping with COVID-19.
More about the film via our sign-up page: https://airtable.com/shrMT5PyLJ8QpDFJR
PLEASE feel free to ask questions, I want to be transparent. I may not be prompt, but I will answer any questions I can. We have applications in with the International Documentary Association for fiscal sponsorship, and have a pending application for a National Geographic COVID-19 journalism grant.
My heart goes out to everyone fighting this; we're in this together.
I tend to follow weatherspark instead since they ~~get their data straight from the NOAA~~ and tend to be more correct. Plus, they show more actual data.
And weatherspark says less than half an inch, meh. http://i.imgur.com/ltMyZuj.png
