I was working at a coffee shop in New York and Jesse Camp walked in and asked if he could use the bathroom. I said, "yeah if you buy a coffee," and he was like, "Don't you know who I am?" and I said buy a coffee or get the fuck out. He got the fuck out and the owner slapped me on the back. I hated that guy.
You'd be surprised by the age demographics of this site. I know I was. Maybe it's just that the youngsters are more visible through posting and commenting (I'm looking at you, Pokemon references).
EDIT: The site seems to be going down a lot, so here's a link to Google's DoubleClick Ad Planner demographics for reddit.com.
EDIT2: As requested, here are the demographics for 4chan.
Google search results are unique.
The main reason is that there are many variables that Google looks at when returning your results. It uses past searches, region, your browser type, what ads you've clicked on, where you shop, third-party accounts you've authorized, browsing history and most interesting inferred interests and demographics. You can test this by performing a search and then signing out of Google, closing the tab and opening a new one to start a new session then doing the search again noting how the results change.
One variable you can't control is which data center is returning the results. There are a few in the US and some internationally. Which one you hit is random and varies with each use. Data centers are consistent with one another but a few are different because they are not using the same algorithm.
Can some one explain to me why everyone hates uggs? They just look like hybrid between comfy slippers and boots. Crocs are an actual abomination.
Most nautical knots have no known origin. They are likely 1000's of years old.
12 inch wooden ruler for sure. It always worked successfully.
Wrong, Mr. Circlejerk Vet. It's a chicken kidney. http://www.hertsandessexobserver.co.uk/Bishops-Stortford/Chicken-kidney-found-in-Stortford-KFC-safe-to-eat-say-food-experts.htm

I hope you know the international sign for choking!
> Google should at least offer a download containing an archive of the account's emails, documents etc. first.
for anyone that wants to make a backup of the shit on your google account:
use https://www.google.com/takeout/ for some of the more social stuff
for docs, select all items, then go to Actions>download>all items
for calandar, you might be able to download them as feeds
reader, options gear> export
gmail, use an email client to download the emails easily.
Edit: also look at ptman's comment(and also whosywhat, both on this comment page) as well for more ways to get your data so you can backup
Tyvek protective suits are pretty cheap. Like $10 a pair. You should invest for those really bad houses.
The most important thing to keep in mind that Puntin's approval rating is slipping, and many Russians are expressing their dissidence and calls for political reforms through the internet, where in the past, fear would have paralyzed them to do anything about the endemic corruption.
This is as good an excuse as any to post a picture of Ellen's girlfriend.
edit: Yes, they are married. Now go look at that picture again. Or better yet: here.
I came here expecting tons of Milla already being posted and found none. FOR SHAME!
Obviously Leeloo dallas multipass, aka Milla Jovovich
Or if I have to post full sci-fi names FINE, Leeloominaï Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat to be precise. aaaand now I need to go watch The Fifth Element, later all.

Ahh... Eurypterids, my favorite prehistoric pants-shittingly terrifying water bug.
They could get much, much bigger than the model in the picture.
If they were alive today, no one would go anywhere near the beach.
Seriously, they could fuck you up quicker than a shark, and without all the messy thrashing about in the water.
I just love that word, it rolls off the tongue so well...
Eurypterid.... Eur-yp-ter-id... ahhhh, what a good sounding word.
Did anyone else think the thumbnail was a picture of a gillette fusion razor?
probably would have been funnier had it not been posted all over the internet last year.
Here's what you actually authorising (taken from Angry Birds):
View your name, public profile URL, and photo
View your gender and birthdate
View your country, language, and timezone
View a list of people from your circles that you may want to engage with
The list is ordered based on your interactions with these people across Google

Old way, store locally, backup remotely. New way, store remotely, backup locally. Not that complicated.
I have a $50/year Google Apps account with an extra 80GB's of Google Docs storage for another $20/year. So my cost is $70/year for email, documents, file storage, calendars, tasks, bookmarks, and so on. I also use Google Voice, but I kept my own number.
I use Thunderbird (free) to store a local copy of all my email on my computer. If I have an important document and I want to immediately backup, I email to myself and Thunderbird will automatically download a copy to my computer.
About every couple of weeks I download all my Google Docs. I keep them all in a folder(s) and right click to download the folder. It zips all the files before it downloads them, but it gives you an option to send you an email letting you know the zip file is ready to download. It's convenient because it adds a date for the zip file which makes it easy to archive on your computer.
I also download my calendars, contacts, bookmarks and other stuff in my Google Docs account as well and keep a copy of that.
I delete old copies on my hard drive after awhile, it's not like I don't have everything already stored in the cloud. I don't bother to back them up to disc because it's already my backup. So I don't waste money or time using discs or other media to make more backups.
tl;dr I use the Google cloud to store all my data and I use my local computer to store backups of the data stored in the cloud. The local backups only take a few minutes a month and is free and simple to do.
Just figured out how to reverse it if you've played a game already. Go to the Google Dashboard, and under Account, you should see "Websites authorized to access the account", click that and disable the games. I have to say, at least they make it clear what you are accepting, and easy to opt back out later.
That looks like a brown huntsman
No, it's called rainbow kush.
Pardon, but what the hell do you think you are doing here? The very point of a Currywurst is that it's cheap and quick and you buy it from a street vendor. It's manna from heaven when it comes with a beer and good company. It derives its name from the copious amounts of curry powder added to a ketchup/brown gravy mix. That's the only connection to Indian cuisine there ever was. And German brats are NOT "at best a good hot dog"? They are worlds apart. Next time you are there, go explore a little.
Call your concoction whatever you want, but it's most certainly not a real Currywurst. And don't even get me started on the rice. What are you going to add next? Mango chutney?
This is how it's supposed to look like. Note: Pommes Frites/French Fries, not rice, for the love of all that's holy.
Edit: I didn't mean to sound this snarky. Must be the withdrawal...I have been craving Currywurst and won't make it back to D for a while. :D
Those images are nowhere near the top results, these are.
NSFW, may include vagina diagram.
Youtube some videos of that, and you will see the result. Depending on the ignorance level of the 'agent', they either let you go or arrest you. There was a pastor (if I recall) that routinely video taped himself denying identification, with some success - until he was tazered, arrested and beaten:
You are not required to have identification, although law enforcement would like you to believe otherwise.
At first, I was about to upvote you for literally noting all of the things China does have.
Massive shadow banking system? Absolutely -
Central bank that targets inflation? You betcha -
Huge persistent debt levels? 20% of GDP (not huge but it's there, and that's just what's reported).
"Goldman Sachs"? If you're suggesting that monied and powerful interests in China don't control the strings behind the scenes (ps, "behind the scenes" is where everything happens in China), you're completely delusional.
Dysfunctional political system: Any country where you can be "disappeared" in the middle of the night; where rule of law is weak and property rights arbitrary would be considered by many to be generally "dysfunctional." Having a one-party system with a complete lack of authorized dissent does not make for a great decisionmaking body.
I think you have more research to do -

Not sure what to think about this.
Homophile is technically correct, but homosexual is the generally used term.
See: [Google define:homophile] >A homosexual man or woman.
It all has to do with what term came around first, and wasn't eventually deemed offensive like the word "nigger" was(Now we are juggling "African American" and "black"). Eventually we'll probably start using a new term for homosexuals, but for now, that is the accepted name.
You could say it was made to be offensive, but we have and use the term "heterosexual" just as easily.
EDIT: I think I should take a moment to bring your attention to the homophile movement.
>The homophile movement also refers to the gay rights movement of the 1950s and '60s. > >The term homophile is favoured by some because it emphasizes love ("-phile" from Greek φιλία) rather than sex. Coined by the German astrologist, author and psychoanalyst Karl-Günther Heimsoth in his 1924 doctoral dissertation "Hetero- und Homophilie," the term was in common use in the 1950s and 1960s by homosexual organizations and publications; the groups of this period are now known collectively as the homophile movement. > >The term homophile began to disappear with the emergence of the Gay Liberation movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s, replaced by a new set of terminology such as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender, although some of the homophile groups survived until the 1980s, 90s and even the present day.
Three choices which I use:
Prey. Excellent for laptops or phones. Can track, lock, scream, etc. remotely.
Autowipe. Will wipe your internal memory and SD card under certain conditions: Special text message is received, the PIN/pattern/password is failed too many times, or the SIM card is swapped.
Google two-step authentication. Allows you to set device-specific passwords. At the very least, you can revoke access to your Google account from the device by just deleting the specific password for your phone.
Did he actually ever say that? The only source I find for it is somebody's forum signature.
You don't have to believe, you really can google it...
https://www.google.com/history/
You have to have had Web History enabled though. I have ever since I got my account in 2006 and I just straight up don't believe that kid googled more than twice what I have in less time.

This just takes me to the Google homepage. I can navigate to an international google with https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en but all searches from my search bar, on my phone, all links to google services and the android store are still Spain-centred and in Spanish.
Unions don't represent the 99%. Unions represent 12% of the workforce in the US.
Since only 62% of the population is in the workforce
and 12% of 62% is about 8%
So the 8% won big in Ohio.
Do you think we can get some verification? I don't want to call you a troll, I just get a little suspicious when I see google image search results. Please set our minds at ease.

Given that, according to Google, only 4% of Reddit users are under 18, it is a little bit surprising to come across a front page post from a 12-year-old.
Easy, use google apps. It will allow you to use your own domain for gmail. So can be hosted on Google for free and access like Gmail.
I think this is where you can start off: https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new
During setup you will be instructed to add certain MX records to your DNS.
Hope this helps.

I don't think you're looking into this enough. The comment is a facade to distract us from the real message. If you take the user's name 'ZatarainsFood', reverse the letters 'doofsniarataz', switch around the letters some more, take some out, and add some, you get 'Door on the left'. Now, what does this mean? It alludes to a Choose Your Own Adventure Book. Now, if you Google the user's name with "Choose your own adventure", you come to this Reddit page: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/lg92l/i_fucking_adore_leafs/
Now, scroll down to ZatarainsFood's comment, it leads to a Starburst commercial. ZatarainsFood is an advertiser for the Starburst company and has created an advertising scheme that delves so deep into our sunconscious that we will have random, impulsive cravings for Starbusrt candy.
Well played.
You're always welcome to take a gander at this.
Horrible show, but I like these kinds of things. I think it's oban 14

If you don't want to bother with a magazine, add this collection I made to Google Reader. There might be a little cruft in there, but overall it is an excellent resource.
P.S. I'm taking suggestions for other feeds to add if anyone has some good ones.
is that in reference to Edward Gorey? If so: bravo, sir.
Google says reddit is 68% male. An informal poll from a year ago found reddit was 82% male.
reddit is predominantly males. Males generally prefer looking at women.
What are you trying to say through your list of top links for the week? How women are put on a pedestal? How men's rights are being trampled by this grievous injustice? What?
According to Google's content rating guidlines:
> Apps rated "Everyone" must not host any user generated content or enable communication between users. Apps that focus on allowing users to find each other and communicate should be rated "Medium maturity" or "High maturity."

Maps falls squarely into that category because of latitude.
I stopped smoking using bupoprion, which I chose because the side effects sounded so much less severe/milder than chantix. The funny thing was that bupoprion IS an anti-depressant as well as a stop smoking aid and was originally intended as an anti-depressant until they found it helped people stop smoking as well. Go figure. Still don't smoke 4 years later.
Actually, the side effects were pretty awesome: increased energy, weight loss, euphoria, increased libido (oh man, that was crazy). Although I did notice I was also a little more nervous/irritable than usual and I started sleeping only 4 hours a night. I was also more impulsive, I made several life decisions that would have consequences for years while I was taking it, good decisions for the most part but it was funny that it happened that way and certainly the drug influenced my decisions. Some people end up shopping or gambling compulsively.
Do you want to keep the car forever? If not, and you want to keep its resale value, use Plastidip. It will peel off if you find you don't like it anymore or want to sell the car, it's pretty cheap, and all you have to do is mask off the tires (roll of masking tape, an old newspaper, and a deck of cards will do it) and spray. They have it in a matte black finish for about $8 a can I believe, and you can use a can per wheel. It can come out very nice if you put care into it.

It's the third result for "dale emch 427" on google:
A course number and professor's first name are very unique identifiers. If a course roster is posted online somewhere, we could probably figure out your team too.
This is one of those questions that could be googled very easily. I'm not sure it's appropriate for /r/askscience. From the /r/askscience guidelines:
>If you're still wondering about your question, we ask that you do some basic research before you actually post it. Most questions are vague and broad. By doing a little bit of background you can say "I don't understand X about topic Y, can someone explain it to me?" Since all of our posts are self posts, please use the text area to tell us a bit about what your background searching turned up. Did you try to read the wiki article and only get so far? Did you not understand any of it? Did it sound wrong to you? These are the kinds of things people answering can't know unless you tell us, so please do. It will help you get better answers and us spend less time answering something you already understand.
*edit: I seem to be getting downvoted. How am I wrong? The mods have repeatedly asked that the community keep the quality of the questions high and reposts limited so that the "experts" can devote their time and effort to better content. This question is answered with a 2 word Google search: moon composition.
This isn't an attack on the OP. It is simply one of the many ways that we can help to keep the quality of this subreddit at the high level that it is known for.
Here is an excellent askscience thread posted a few months ago on the same topic.
If you're curious as to how I found it easily.
As others have said, you'll probably find a better conversation and explanation over in r/askscience for questions like this.
I was thinking the guy from Tango & Cash: This guy
Didn't they do some demographical questionnaire and find that most people on Reddit are surprisingly old (considering the expected outcome?)
