I'm currently in school to become a commercial helicopter pilot so my apps may not be that impressive to everyone, but the apps called METAM (having trouble finding it on Google Play store ATM) and another, which isn't aviation specificm called MyRadar. Great apps for anyone who wants a detailed picture of the weather in your area.

On Android, i like MyRadar.
Check and see if MyRadar works outside of the US. Since the app rights purchase seems like a ploy to give their no-name weather app a popular facelift, I wouldn't expect the new Timeline to support anything MyRadar doesn't already.
I lean on weather radar apps moreso than the per-hour predictions that many apps offer. It'll let you judge if you're able to beat the worst of it by hustling, or if you're going to get soaked no matter what.
Also, if I wear anything too waterproof/non-breathable, I turn into a big sweaty mess which negates the whole point. So I tend to lean more on quick-drying fabrics that have some DWR rather than full-on rain paints, and a Marmot Precip for the jacket.
I wish I could block the sentinel from my router settings. gonna look into it. as an alternative for important weather alerts - MyRadar is a great app, sends out instant NWS alerts. I've gotten all the tornado warnings timely tonight from them. the radar map shows a pink overlay of the tornado warning alert, and tapping on it gives you the full text of the NWS alert. it's pretty perfect as far as radar / weather alert apps go.
and BONUS - this company is based out of Orlando! noticed their office was next to mine after seeing a bus wrapped in a MyRadar ad parked there and looked it up.

I'll second MyRadar. It has an unfortunate shovelware-sounding name, but it's got quite a ridiculous amount of features. I have the Pro version for ease of keeping up on hurricanes, but its rain and lightning alerts work great.
As for severe weather alerts, I've had the best luck with this app providing the most rapid alerts (oftentimes mere seconds after the NWS issues them).
It's an Android app called MyRadar. Worth the extra couple of bucks to get the premium version. You can select per-station radar and then select reflectivity or velocity.
MyRadar is the absolute best weather radar I have been able to find.
Antimatter icon pack is very well put together. Over 3000 icons but it's sitting at 1000 downloads.
I like MyRadar. Its really good at predicting weather within the hour. I've been helped many times by the alert "rain coming in 15 minutes."
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I love this one. Bare bones and it sends me 20 minute rain warnings. So far the most accurate weather app I've ever used.
Edit, there's a pay for pro one that has more data than I'd ever use, but may be of interest to the rest of you.
Flash floods anywhere near JT can be incredibly dangerous and obviously they happen that quick. I was caught in one and it still haunts me years later.
I keep a good radar app on my phone now, you simply can't judge what's coming with your eyes, sometimes it's simply to late, especially when your exit routes are limited.
Edit: spell, plus this is the app I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
It's served me well, but there very likely could be better one's out there.
It's a bit far, but might be doable. First I'd let the car plan the route. If it's close, you could spend a couple hours at a destination charger or public charger. Maybe go watch a movie?
Use the Trip Chart in the Energy App to make sure everything is going as projected. And use hypermiling techniques.
Rain & headwinds are the biggest silent killers of range. I use this app to see wind direction.
I would add MyRadar Great app to see how big that storm really is and if it's coming your way.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
On android I use MyRadar. It will send alerts of incoming rain with up to 30min notice sometimes.
On a computer I go to WeatherUnderground.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar&hl=en_US&gl=US
Another good source if you're app inclined is the MyRadar weather app. I'm not quite sure where they source their fire data from, but I find it's mostly correct. Mostly, because sometimes mid fire the wildfire icon will sometimes disappear long before it's out. But it can be useful to see which ones are in the area overall.
I like the app as a whole for weather tracking and for the persistent tray notification with the temp and weather. Plus rain push alerts and hurricane tracking/alerting if you pay for it (one time in app purchase).
I use this on Android. Used it last December for the tornado near St Louis. Not as detailed as radarscope but works really well
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
How does it compare to the pro version of this? I've been using this one for years and have loved it, but am willing to give other apps a try.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
MyRadar. Has lots of options. Wind direction, fires, hurricanes, rain. It has a yearly sub of $10, which I gladly paid. Has nice widgets also. I had to turn the fires off because half the US is on fire and it was bogging my phone down lol.
Sure thing! MyRadar , normally I use Dark Sky but apple bought the company and removed the app for android. So if you have an iPhone I recommend dark sky
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
Using the default google weather for basic information and MyRadar for radar and hurricane info. No subscription, really nice options, few IAP to unlock all options and remove ads. I'm very happy with it.

My radar : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
Recommended to me back when I worked at the airport by one of my supervisors, haven't used another app since.
Lots of options and different views, hurricane, fire and earthquake tracking, rain warning and it even has decent little widgets I use on my home screen.
Gives me alerts when it might rain "light rain starting in 25 minutes, possibly stoping within an hour"
Free and premium versions available
I always loved a full screen radar app with no ads. MyRadar has been that solution for years now ever since the full screen weather radar from Weather Underground went.
I have used it for hurricanes just to monitor (tracking is extra and it's not worth it).
For me wind and humidity are almost more important than rain forecasts because wind and humidity play a roll almost every day and rain only affects my run once in a while.
I use MyRadar for weather radar and Pilot Weather for temperature, wind, humidity and forecast information at the airports. I live near the lakefront and normally using Gary or Waukegan airport for weather provides more accurate temperature and wind information than O'Hare and Midway. I've found that a lot of Chicago weather apps will use a temperature that is much higher than what we get on the lakefront.
At the advice of someone last time this was brought up I went and tried out MyRadar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar&hl=en_US
No subscription but multiple IAP are options. Ads, hurricane tracking, 3d radar, and lastly aviation charts and that one is a subscription.
The radar itself has a ton of options including wind, lightning, even wildfires and earthquakes. I have to say that I am really impressed by this and love the lack of subscription for standard information. It does take a bit to initially load up but that might just be my original Pixel XL being a bit slow nowadays. It also has a fun feature that lets you share a short gif of the radar which I've had some fun with.
It does have standard weather with precipitation, hourly rain/temp week, 5 day, wind and all other details. No source options that I can tell but personally for basic information like that I just use the google weather shortcut and use this for radar.
Personally a huge fan of myradar. The free version has a banner ad at the bottom but no critical functionality is locked behind premium. It does have a few premium add ons if you're interested in hurricane tracking, individual weather station stats, or aviation charts. But for general weather forecasting and live radar it's killer.
Better start installing MyRadar app from the play store. They actually "predict" and tell weather conditions in game on the planets/moons in addition to real life Earth and Mars.
I like My Radar.
It has a layer showing national weather service watches & warnings. I also like the hurricane tracker but it's a paid add on.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I use My Radar and set it to open when I swipe up on the weather timeline icon (with nova launcher)
here in FL, weather is crazy so its nice to be one swipe away from a good radar view without having another icon cluttering up my app drawer.
Welcome to Star Citizen CitizenCon 2017 Summary.
Procedural Cities
They showcased procedural cities an entire planet (ArcCorp) covered in city. It was populated by NPCs, seamless transition from ground to space. Everything was visit-able & actually there whether you saw it on the horizon OR from Orbit.
They also went on to show that they can not on procedural generate the exterior or the city BUT the internals too so potentially we could be looking at fully explorable cities in the game.
The Demo also showed off improvements to the engine both graphically and performance wise. Modular Space Stations (tho only the externals)
And another planet with a different city type and biomes Hurston. Where ArcCorp is a sprawling metropolis, Hurston is slightly more sparse BUT very much more Industrial and has Oceans.
Water in the game is fully wave simulated.
The Whole thing was extremely impressive to see and at the end they showed off some of the Flora but also Fauna little alien critters “Oni Crabs”.
Other cool things to note during the presentation were the differences in engine trails in space compared to atmosphere.
They want meaningful travel times and the travel time between ArcCorp & Hurston was around 8 mins (they show how the tools for city generation & interiors worked during this time)
Roadmap / Release Plans
They gave some words on Release Models and Patches moving forward & into 2018 expect.
Date Driven Releases for Alphas, with Quarterly releases.
They will be heavily Updating the Schedule Report.
An expanded Star Citizen Roadmap is being added after 3.0 goes live, so expect to see rough plans for patches and mechanics leading up to 4.0/Beta.
SQ42 Episode will be added to the Schedule report in the Holiday Livestream (SQ42 will also the focus of that December Stream)
There will be Ship Sales During the Star Citizen Anniversary Live Stream in November.
Pioneer / Base Building
The Pioneer went on sale with a limited amount of sales 2000 were pre-sold to concierge BUT another 2000 were made available 1000 with warbond, 1000 for store credit. As of writing this only 600 warbond versions are still available.
The Ship itself is Outpost and Base Building Factory that can be used to literally manufacture modular buildings for your needs, store them and then place them. You’ll need resources onboard for the construction tho.
Buildings in bases will act similarly to ships requiring power and life support BUT also have functional uses:
Habitation
Armories
Storage
Medstations
Mining/Refining
Hydroponics
Ore/Gas Extractors
Solar Panels
Moisture Extractors
Geothermal heat pumps
Landing Pads
Turrets
UEE/Land Claim
You’ll need land to place your base, in UEE space that will need to be done via a land claim that will cost you some UEC, in less secure space you’ll be able to go more freeform without one.
Whatever you decide you’ll want to scout out and find info about the land before you build a base their, resources available there and facilities of anything near by you can use.
Setting up a mining operation requires you to find the resource you are after nearby BUT can be made much more efficient if you also build or have access to refineries near by.
You’ll be able to build defenses, get NPCs to guard and patrol as well as players to help keep your base safe.
Base Building will play a huge part of the gameplay in Star Citizen.
Other Tidbits
There were some other cool little bits MyRadar has an app available for phones allowing you to see the weather on the moons in Alpha 3.0, it’s a cool simulated thing & I hope it gets fully integrated in game at some point too in a mobiGlas App, it’s available now to use too.
One of the presentations showed off their animation tech in regards to procedural animations for negotiating terrain. This allows players and NPCs to move over rough terrain and small obstacles in a smart manner generating appropriate animations on the fly. IT LOOKS fantastic, especially when combined with foot prints being left on the ground & their IK system preventing clipping by aligning your feet and body to the ground on rough terrain and stair too.
They have released a series on how to learn the Xi’An Language with videos & documentation. It’s an in depth real language now.
And announced more officially their in the opening ceremony, Intel 900p Optane Drives that come Exclusively with the Sabre Raven (and a game package). The Drives are extremely fast (but super expensive $390-$600) SSDs the Raven is an infiltrator Sabre (lower signature) with 2 S3 Weapons and 2x MaxOx Burst Emp Generators giving it quite a unique loadout, it’s the 2nd “Exclusive” ship that CIG have ever made, the first being the AMD Mustang Omega.
If you are after one of the drives they are pretty hard to get hold of at the moment, there should be some better distribution in the coming days.
The Raven is going to be flyable in Alpha 3.0 which was another little surprize.
They did talk about Optimization of the game, of which they have been doing a lot, they said their vulkan integration doesn’t mean that they will ignore DX12.
The Game will be optimized for many CPU threads in the future.
And they keep on adding graphical/performance improvements too.

I'd highly recommend the MyRadar app as well
For those asking, this is the MyRadar NOAA Weather Radar app.
Other excellent radar apps for serious weather nerdery are Radarscope and PYKL3 Radar.
My favorite is myradar and Ive gone through a bunch.
We recommend MyRadar (of course)! It's FREE to download on iOS, Android and Windows Phone!
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/myradar-weather-radar/id322439990
Myradar - best hyperlocal weather and radar app. Worth it for pro to remove ads.
Looks like the MyRadar app. It's probably the nicest radar app I've found so far
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
Have you tried MyRadar? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
Fyi while not as detailed as radarscope, MyRadar is my go to for weather radar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I use MyRadar on Android and always go by what I see on the radar over forecasts for rain.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
MyRadar does a nice job
Give this a try:

Or build one of these:
That's what I settled on long ago, probably the best I've used.
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I like MyRadar
My Radar is pretty great
MyRadar - Has some Slick Radar Animations also has other tools you can use
From a UI perspective, I really like MyRadar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar

MyRadar is a 10 and Ive tried them all
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar&hl=en
My Radar has a wind speed and direction widget.
Wow, that's a terrible deal. Friendly reminder that pretty much all of this information is already available free-of-charge, ad-free, and with no hype at https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ and https://www.weather.gov/ - I'm not a weather nut, but I'm pretty sure that it's mostly all the same data.
If you really want an app, I used this one for a long time, but eventually caved and paid for ad-free(?) and the hurricane tracker(?). They might have been one purchase, it's been so long since I bought it that I don't really remember. I did like the app even when it was ad-supported since it was just a banner ad. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
MyRadar app is legit.. Best one I've used so far. Amazing detail. The news channel apps suck.
I like Dark Sky for general weather, and My Radar for the best radar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I think this one has the best radar. I love this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
I really like MyRadar! Its the best radar app out there. I do wish WU's storm would make it though
Great list. I prefer My Radar to Rainy Days.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar
But don't but the add-ons like hurricane tracker or professional radar pack because you cannot disable them once they are installed.
Pathetic.
My Radar gets it... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acmeaom.android.myradar[My Radar image of hurricane](https://i.imgur.com/RMpMBnm.png)
Then how is My Radar getting it?
