I'll see if I can find you some links for jobs (electrician?)
With regard to alcohol it's weird and is heavily influenced by religion so bear with me.
3.2% domestic beer (bud, miller, coors) can be sold cold but not in a liquor store (you get this at gas stations, grocery stores, etc).
No liquor can be sold cold.
No liquor on Sunday (3.2% beer can be purchased on Sunday)
Liquor can only be sold from liquor stores.
Liquor stores cannot sell anything cold but they can sell beer over 3.2% ABV.
Oklahoma does not allow beers that have not been pasteurized. Some beers are not pasteurized because they are kept cold from bottling to store and as such cannot be sold in Oklahoma.
No BYOB bars.
Bars can't sell bottles (like to take with you, no to-go cups).
Grocery stores can't sell liquor, only 3.2% beer. (this may change in the near future but i wouldn't hold my breath)
No alcohol on election days (though I think this may have been repealed recently but it's not like it comes up that often).
I'm probably forgetting some stuff.
I'm not really familiar with the electrical industry but if it's similar to others around here then a lot of it is based on who you know (and not what you know).

Try the Sleep Inn. It's a fair price, a quick drive to the Zoo Amp, and next to some really good dive bars (the Hilo, Drunken Fry, Edna's, and the Speakeasy).
I would recommend Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge as well.
As someone else said, Arcadia Lake has some good spots too.
On , Private Internet Access (A VPN) always has a $30/yr special going. Sometimes $28...sometimes $32....regardless, it's a SUPER easy install and will "spoof" your external IP address to be anywhere in the the world for that matter.
Also works great for phones/tablets. They pride themselves on not giving up the logs as well, for those who need to download those "linux isos" but don't want that letter in the mail from Cox.
As well, a VPN is highly recommended for usage on public wifi, when accessing sensitive information, and as well for just overall security. Doesn't prevent viruses, but can help prevent identity theft.
I highly suggest such a thing, and I guess that's my contribution for the year.

Obviously looking at it on a daily basis isn’t great, but I was curious.

I don't buy any honestly. I buy stuff online, but nothing local. Local designers have been getting a lot better (or at least they are being marketed correctly now) and I'm looking into purchasing some.
Sorry, didn't mean for you to look for designers. I meant I look at those designers portfolios and look to see if they do any apparel stuff. For example, I loved this shirt. Guy is in Austin. Contacted him, he had a few left, paid him and got it in the mail.
Wouldn't say there's an issue, necessarily.
The faculty at UCO is full of people from the industry who make sure folks are going to be prepared. They pretty much know most students by name. I don't know that would be common at a larger university.
You should make time to go visit with them.

This professor and his wife are pretty awesome.
> I'd agree if you got rid of the word violent.
I used that word for a very specific reason.
Let's look at the definition:
> Behavior or treatment in which physical force is exerted for the purpose of causing damage or injury.
> Intense force or great power, as in natural phenomena.
Now in that first definition one might be tempted to focus on the casual effect. That violence is perpetrated in order to CAUSE someone damage or injury.
But if someone doesn't intend to cause damage but still does - wouldn't it still be considered a violent act?
"Your honor, I didn't mean to hurt anyone when I drove my car at 100 MPH so it's not fair to call it a violent act just because I injured some people." Most people wouldn't agree and would still classify it as violence.
IMO it seems all too easy to dismiss the needs of people wanting to attend church services.
It's also seems quite easy to dismiss the effects that such shutdown actions are having on people.
Yet to ignore such things in light of lots of evidence of increasing issues is too short sighted and constitutes a violence.
Denying people their abilities to worship as they want is a violent act because it is harming people.
Perhaps I've persuaded you, perhaps not.
We may just have to agree to disagree on the point.
Nothing wrong with that. Cheers.
Here's a related question and answer related to teachers and students:
How Can I Track Anonymous Evaluations?
After reading that webpage, you might recognize that you've been assigned the identifying number "6293061820". I hope that's not your telephone number. Anyhow, when you respond to the survey, that ten digit number will be embedded in your submission. They will be able to tie your responses to your cell phone.
Also worth noting: they said that your responses will be kept confidential. They didn't promise you any anonymity. And if you want privacy, you'd do best to keep those answers to yourself and not reply.
Hope this helps!
This is one of my favorite routes. It starts on roads, but Grand is very low traffic and you don't have to stop a lot. https://www.strava.com/activities/353684485
Other than that, the river, Hefner, Overholser, Stanley Draper (more dirt roads and trail running), Oklahoma Christian, Dolese Park, the Katy Trail, and Thunderbird (dirt trails) are all nice places to run. If you want water fountains, I'd stick to the river or the south side of Hefner. Small parks around the metro are also good for water if you know where to go.
The landrunners are starting up their marathon training again next weekend, if you are looking for people to go with--just be ready for an early run (6:30am I think). http://okcrunning.org/
Most people use that site. There are others but they're not really popular. They have an app for iphone and android or you can purchase a standalone gps unit. It's a fun hobby but I haven't gotten to do it in a while.
GPU and CPU you can buy on amazon that’s pretty basic. I’d get some really good high speed ram because ryzen loves to use that high speed ram for some reason, it runs really well on 3200+ ram.

Edit: 3000mhz will probably suffice.
We had one of those Skip Doctor things back in the mid-90's. Worked reasonably well.
Your mileage may vary, but my first trick was to use Lemon Pledge and a microfiber cloth. Worked half the time. Seriously. For those that didn't work, the Skip Doctor usually got the rest.
Good to know - thanks! I've been frustrated with Homelands quality recently and just getting into Jerky myself.
I got this Nesco dehydrator and my first batch was marginal at best. not the dehydrator's fault tho....the meat had too much fat and gristle and the marinade was a bit too spicy with too much woristichere sauce. Gotta a couple of more recipes to try tho.
It's a struggle every creative person has to deal with right? How to make enough money to live on that will enable one to pursue the creative side without getting stuck doing work we hate. I think you'll find you have much more free time post graduation than you realize but yeah, if you're writing copy all day, perhaps it won't be much fun to come home and pursue creative writing.
If you haven't already read it, I highly recommend the book The War of Art it's an easy read and not too expensive.
Have these in stock and these in mind:
With regards to COMPUTERS:
Although, keep in mind that Microsoft is trying to work to a system where you eternally lease your operating system, and associated programs. Just as it used to be with IBM and the mainframe computers.
I don't know about most other users, but there is no damn way I am going to ever lease Microsoft's Shit operating systems. Time to learn Linux! It pisses me off that you essentially have to purchase MS office anymore. Consider, it is not like MS is going to come up with some giant leaps with regards to Word processors, Spreadsheets, databases, Powerpoint, and Crist, they have not updated Publisher in literally years! Yet we willingly pay $65 or so a year for that crap that most people use, but is essentially static programming. Intercourse that!
With regards to CARS:
It is equally disgusting that in the year 2022, we are still playing endless games with automotive dealers to purchase a damn car. The endless games with trade in's, finance, and the endless, "let me run this by my sales manager" horseshit. Incidentally, IF you are buying a car, there is a great book by a fellow named Remar Sutton called, "Don't get taken every time."
Here: https://www.amazon.com/Dont-Get-Taken-Every-Time/dp/0143038885
Well worth the investment if you are going to play their game. Sutton highlights all the stupid tricks Dealers want to play, and how you can put a stop to it.
I could have sworn there was something pocketable that could do it but now I can't find it. This is a little slimmer than the Midland but it will still be munching AA batteries.
The good radios will just be radios. No extra gimmicks like a crank or solar panel. The best of them will have something called SAME alerts. These allow you to filter alerts by severity and location.
While that radio says it has "automatic alerts" there are 2 different types of alerts. The "all hazard" alerts and the SAME alerts. It doesn't have SAME so it will only respond to hazard alerts and will go off any time there is a alert anywhere in the state.
I would get this instead: https://www.amazon.com/Midland-WR120B/dp/B00176T9OY/ Great radio that does everything and from a quality name brand. But if you want something designed to be portable then I will have a different recommendation.
Well, I found this article from weather.com https://weather.com/news/news/oklahoma-building-codes-tornadoes-earthquakes that says buildings are built to withstand winds up to 115 mph (F2), Moore has stricter requirements.
I don't doubt what you're saying and obviously mileage is going to very building to building. I never took tornado safe to necessarily mean your home won't sustain major damage but more, the walls will be standing. My house was built in the 30s and I doubt building codes were as strict as they are now.
If you don't have a storm shelter or basement, an interior room of your house is probably going to still get the job done.
(I've also never seen anyone claim a building, outside of a storm shelter, could withstand a F5. That sounds borderline reckless on whoever is making that claim.)
> A lot of people don't realize that electricity on a typical grid isn't stored; it's basically created on demand and used immediately. There are not huge batteries holding excess electricity that OGE can tap into when their grid is under heavy use.
What??? No way!!! News to me! /s
Flip side: A lot of people don't realize electricity generated by their utility company near their home may go onto a trading market.
Anyway, I wouldn't call it a "struggle" for OGE to produce at peak times. It simply costs them the most. If power demand continues to grow, they will have to build more generation capacity. That's what utilities do for their customers. Maybe they can find the money in the $355,000,000 they paid to shareholders last year. To me, it smells like OGE telling its customers "We'll help you save a little if you help us save a ton."
(Here's a wild idea, maybe another good way to avoid conventional plant building in 2020 is to build the hell out of wind capacity. Iowa, which is fairly similar to Oklahoma in land area and human density, gets 25% of its power from wind, Oklahoma less than a third of that. Don't get me wrong, we're trying! But we could speed it up.)
I'm all for smart meters and a smarter grid. Energy efficiency as a practice and goal is pretty impossible to argue with (maybe not if you supply the fuels, ha). But the bottom line should be serving customers and better managing our collective energy resources and needs, not just helping private monopolies pinch their pennies.

Thanksgiving 2015. I lost a fifty year old tree in the 2015 storm along with the power line to my house. Took me a week to clean/cut it all up. https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blogs/weathermatrix/2015-thanksgiving-weekend-ice-storm-was-a-whopper/16632
I love hiking Elk Mountain (near Mt. Scott), but it's closed for covid at the moment. Robbers Cave has some nice longer trails and is currently open afaik.
This.
These guys have a brotherhood. When one dies, they set aside rivalries to honor their lost brother. They drive in packs across states to show respect to their fallen brother. The minor inconvenience that you experienced is a minor discomfort to what they are doing that day to honor of thier lost loved one and the protect the safety of the group that is riding to honor them.
If these guys are riding with their colors they will do whatever they need to do for the safety of their group, regardless of what's legal. If there is no police escort it may not be legally permitted, but the presence of a MC that large is well known to local law enforcement. Its probably not a matter of being permitted as much as being tolerated.
These are not people that should be messed with, there is a certain amount of respect that comes with permitting them to briefly transgress on your daily driving. They mean you no harm, and if you get a chance to meet them, you will find they are genuinely kind and helpful people, unless you show them disrespect. That is something that is not tolerated within their culture. I believe that the police not being present is likely an intentional sign of respect in the form of turning a blind eye.
I'll get off my soap box...sorry for the word dump.
PS. If you have any interest in knowing more about this culture, here's a book that changed my perspective on MC's for life. By Hunter S. Thompson no less.

I'm working on my Spanish through a tutor at preply.com. I've had good luck using their interface and my tutor is awesome. We video chat once a week and the price is pretty reasonable.
Thanks. I found Sheesh Mahal here, but not a website. I think it's more acceptable now for businesses to forgo a site (especially if they can't maintain it) and rely on review and delivery sites. Sheesh Mahal does seem to have a page on FB, but none of us are going to FB, right?
I bought this one when I moved here, used it a couple times and I’m really happy with it! Holds a charge well and the flashlight is nice and bright.
Keep one of these in your vehicle. It lets the person know they've fucked up without actually doing any damage to their vehicle. Just loosen up their valve stem and let all the air out of their tires:

Hey I know this is probably a complete longshot but Sooner State Pawn had a honda generator for sale but I'm almost certain it was this one. Or a similar smaller camping generator.
I figure it's worth it to at least call them up and ask, but I'm sure if you're posting here you're checking with local pawn shops as well.
I know how you feel I had my running generator stolen out of my back yard in October along with the grill that I had chained it to. I'll keep an eye out.
I have a neat little washer that is electric, it’s geared toward campers but I’ve used it many times. It’s great for between laundromat trips. It’s kind of a pain for rinsing but it works great for underwear & socks. This isn’t what I have but this looks niftywashing machine alternative
Amazon has Korean cupping therapy sets. No need to risk infected burns. These work very well within the limitations of what this therapy can do. Please don't use them on your face or neck.
This is the set I have. My husband has to do it on my back--I don't know if other people are able to use it on their own backs. It might just be because of my disabilities that I can't reach.
Life without an ad blocker (ublock origin for the curious of what I use) is a life I can't live.
(There's also VPNs like Private Internet Access that have ad blocking aspects, or if on iOS Wipr is pretty good)

Just go to Amazon and Search "Cable modem docsis 3.0" make sure and get an all-in-1 wifi router/modem. I got a 4 port, 2 phone line, wifi router/modem for like 27$ (128$ New!!!!) The cheapest one I'd purchase from the "used" section now is 33$ from Lyon's Electronics. I wouldn't trust the other lower priced ones.
https://www.amazon.com/TG862G-Telephony-DOCSlS-Wireless-Xfinity/dp/B008KRLZCW
You shouldn't have to upgrade unless you find you're always experiencing downtime or the speeds you're paying for can't be fully implemented due to your equipment being unable to operate that fast. Check router/modem documentation to see its max speeds.
I would suggest googling your models and seeing what the specs are, and comparing those to what's available today. My bet is that it's time to upgarde. I'm not a super tech-y person, but buying a new router (having bought my old one only 3 years earlier) made a HUGE difference for me.
As for your modem, make sure yours is DOCSIS 3.0 or better. In most situations, you want 8x4 channels or better, too.
This is the modem I have: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-download-Certified-Cablevision-CM400-1AZNAS/dp/B0111MRLES/ref=pd_sim_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=A76TFGV21W579DWMC6BK&dpID=416Y7zgKuBL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail
Just based on age, I'm thinking yeah, probably time to upgrade. I can't seem to find solid data, but as my memory serves me, the average household broadband connection at that time was 5 or 10 mbps. Hell, when I got my first Charter package in 2012, the best I could buy was 30mbps (vs. 100 or 120 when I left in August 17 though I couldn't get that speed at my house). And I would think that the mid-market technology available at the time would have been created for that kind of output vs what we have today.
Home Depot and Lowe's sell different types of screw extraction kits. This one is kind of different than mine but same principle - you drill into the screw making room for the extractor. You insert the extractor and it gives you a "bite" on the screw which you can then use to extract the screw.
Keep in mind you don't actually want the drill bit to touch the screw threads as that might cause more damage. You simply drill enough to where the extractor can bite on the screw then you unscrew the screw.
That sounds smart to me, the not having smash as the only fighting game thing, but if you are not planning on getting CRT TV's for the wii's/game cubes I would suggest buying something like this to help with the lag considering you seem to be wanting to cater to the competitive gamer. This can be a big deal to many of us.
Neat video! I had never seen footage of Springlake before, only photos. My mother remembers the park before it got shut down in '81. This is a great book on the park if anyone is interested!
