Also mein Lieblingsandroid Spiel ist 80 Days.
The first "game" that I can immediately think of that you could play for 30 seconds without losing progress in would be the Lifeline series, since you can quickly give input within such a small time frame. Unfortunately they're not particularly long and don't have a ton of replay-ability.
80 Days is the only other game I can think of. Has much higher replay-ability if you ask me and can easily be done in bursts of 30 odd minutes.
Outside of that, I'd suggest that you try emulating some games (/r/emulationonandroid) since you could easily load up a game, quickly make a save state, then come back and load that save state once you're back at a desk.

80 days (same devs as sorcery) is really good: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.eightydays
Can also suggest Devil's Attorney:
I didn't see the original post so I'll write some games from top of my head:
80 days (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.eightydays): you choose your own route around the world as you are traveling, while managing what items you carry and the time you have left, it has a LOT of reading and it works offline, has landscape mode too.
Danmaku Unlimited 2 & 3: if you like SHMUPS this is one of the most polished ones, great soundtrack. Works offline.
Euclidea: geometry puzzle, works offline.
FOTONICA: first person infinite runner, you only have to jump, cool effects, great music, works offline.
Leap day: platformer, you have to complete random generated leveled everyday.
LYNE: logic puzzle, calm music, lot of levels, works offline.
Paddocks: sudoku-like logic game, has infinite puzzles, lot of themes (Amoled too) and it works offline.
Spellsword Cards Origins (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oneupplus.SpellswordOrigins): slay the pyre kind of game, different classes with abilities and lots of cards.
The choose-your-own game "80 days" is sitting at 6500 reviews* on Google Play, with an $8 (CAD) dollar price tag.
It has only 650 reviews* on Steam and is available for $15 (CAD).
Based on that alone I'd say there's actually a fair market for that kind of game, but you should find many games similar to yours that are available on multiple platforms, chart them out, and see what the numbers look like.
Quality and advertising budget play a big role in this so you'll have to compare it against games that fall in line with yours.

*Keep in mind these are reviews and not purchases, and each platform has a different purchase-to-reviewer ratio. There's no way of knowing actual sales numbers so reviews are often used as a proxy.
Eu am descoperit 80 days inainte de ultimul zbor. Are o poveste interactiva grozava si e foarte distractiv sa-l joci in timp ce calatoresti.
Also netflix are functie de download. Poti downloada un serial intreg.
I'd say 80 Days is probably the best game you can play on any phone right now. It's just that good. (It's by the guys who've done Sorcery!)
part of the problem is - people, for some reason, don't like to pay money for games on mobile devices (by that I mean smartphones/tablets, not dedicated portable gaming devices). That forces various F2P models. There are a lot of awesome mobile games that deserve more love.
for example 80 days is an awesome game, quite innovative (I like the online aspect of it), very fun, beautiful art style, immense replay value , it costs just $5 and it has ... 10-50k users on android. there are many other examples of great, polished mobile games that just don't have the sales (remakes of Z RTS games, Valiant Hearts).
It maybe also is because "casual gamers" are not interested in "proper" games and and gamers have their preferred platform and see mobile just as a side-kick for quick casual games. it just seems there's no market for good mobile games).
I think I have "game dev story" from them, quite decent game, though gets a bit repetitive after second or third playthrough and doesn't support tablet layouts. Currently my favorite paid mobile game is 80 days.
I recently found and fell in love with an amazing storytelling game called 80 Days.
It’s a retelling of Jules Verne’s “80 Days Around the World”, but this is interactive fiction in the tradition of those old Infocom games for the Atari. You are Phileas Fogg’s valet Passepartout, and you choose not only your route and what you buy and sell along the way, but also who you interact with and how…even what details you notice in a new city.
There are roughly 500,000 words of writing in the game, and most players will never see it all because there are so many different places to go and so many choices that branch out, like Choose Your Own Adventure books, to open new choices and preclude others.
I find that I care about what Mr. Fogg thinks of my conduct — whether it reflects well upon him as a gentleman, for example — and I have been occasionally horrified by what I see. The alternate past of 80 Days is a steampunk mid-19th century where the Ottoman Empire and the Prussian Empire are alive, but so are some of the machines made by the Artificers Guild, and slavery is very much going on in some parts of the world. There are potential romances in all combinations, and your choices can get people killed by oppressive colonial governments or jealous rivals. And there’s a lot of reasons to replay the game once you’ve reached London (or, tragically, once you’ve gotten yourself and your gentleman stranded in a deadly place).

good mobile games do exist they are just hard to find. Here's some mobile games i'd recommend:
80 Days: A fun little game based on around the world in 80 days.
Hitman Go: A surprisingly good Hitman puzzle game.
Threes: A fun little number puzzle game. Have you heard of 2048? Well this is the game that 2048 ripped off.
Million Onion Hotel: A really weird Japanese puzzle game. It's a lot of fun.
Reigns: A game where you play a king dealing with random events that you have to choose between.
These are all legit good games on mobile. I intentionally didn't include any free2play trash. Play them, they're good. or don't. i'm not the boss of you.
Here's what I've got installed right now. Stormbound might be the p2w exception as discussed below, though I've enjoyed it for a long time without paying anything..
80 Days is so good. I play it a lot when I travel, have been playing it for a few years now.
This is what I currently have installed in my phone, they are all very awesome games and totally worth the buy:
all of these games have No ADs, and mostly no IAP (a few games like RCT: Classic and Monument Valley have DLC, also totally worth it)
I'd love to answer anybody questions about games and my recommendations.
I'd also love anybody recommendations on fun games I should pick up! Thanks! :D
If you like Sorcery try 80 Days, also made by Inkle.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.eightydays
A mobile game that is actually good, no micro transactions, no internet connection required. Here's a list I made a little while ago :D
Here's what I have installed on my phone right now:
all of these games have no ADs, and mostly no IAP (a few games like RCT: Classic and Monument Valley have DLC, also totally worth it IMO)
On my Samsung S7:
And on my Shield Android TV (pro version)
List made using List My Apps
80 Days is based on Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days, where you have to manage your ressources and make decisions to try and go around the world in 80 days. It's beautiful both visually and in its writing. Highly recomended.
From the same company, the Sorcery! games are a pulp fantasy throwback to the old Fighting Fantasy gamebooks. In fact, they're a remake of a Fighting Fantasy series, written by the original author. There are three of them so far (out of a projected four), but as your character carries over from one game to the next, you'll obviously want to start with the first one.
Of course you could also install a z-code interpreter and play some Interactive Fiction. Of the available interpreters, Xyzzy is my choice. You can get free IF legally from the IF Archive.
King of Dragon Pass is a mostly text driven strategy game with some deep lore. Very difficult game, but at times it feels like you are really creating the story of your tribe.

80 days skulle være godt.
I posted this in another comment, but you should play 80 Days. Be sure to stop by New Orleans.
You may like 80 Days and the four Sorcery games (two, three, and four), which are all from the same people.
They are all interactive stories / choose your own adventure type games. 80 Days is a kind of aJules Verne slash steam punk theme. Sorcery is fantasy. Sorcery's combat is turn based. Note that Sorcery is basically a four part story, so just part one by itself won't feel very long.
Another one is To Be Or Not To Be. Shakespeare themed, of all things! But you don't have to be a Shakespeare buff. You may recognize some of the art style from that's from a bunch of different webcomic people.
All of the above are premium games with no ads, no stupid timers/stamina/energy limiting your gameplay time, and no IAPs.
Also Telltale Games have a bunch of games that have a bit more action than the above games, but many of them have features that are similar to interactive story games. Such as The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and a few others.
All of these are setup something like where part 1 is free to try out and if you like it, you can buy parts 2 through 5 or 6 or whatever via IAP. Besides getting the rest of the game via IAP, there isn't stuff being forced on you to buy. There aren't ads. You can play as much as you want.
80 Days is my GOTY of 2014 (not just mobile, but across all games), if you haven't played it you really should check it out. I really enjoyed #YMBAB (You must build a boat), it's a fast-paced match 3 with pixel graphics and some light RPG elements (by the same developer as 10000000).
I paid to unlock unlimited credits in Pac-Man 256, sort of a glitch-inspired infinite PacMan game by the same devs as Crossy Road, and I play that pretty much every day. You can download it for free, but it limits how often you can play until you unlock it.
Both Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go are great puzzle games with similar mechanics, so I'd get one but not both. Hitman is a tighter puzzle but LC has a better sense of adventure and exploration.
Shadowrun: Dragonfall is an incredible RPG that's a direct port of the PC version. It's a fully fledged game, but it doesn't translate super well to a small screen and will eat your battery for breakfast. This is a good one if you play for longer sessions while charging (in bed, for example).
XCOM:Enemy Within is another full PC game on mobile. It actually controls really well, and ran pretty smoothly on my Nexus 4. I haven't tried it on my Moto X Pure yet. It's easily worth the price, and probably one of the most polished and console-like experiences you can get on mobile right now.
Are you keen for a genuine freshly-generated text machine, or just some human-written text RPGs?
There are plenty of the latter about. A few of my favorites:

80 Days.
Soul Unleashed RPG.
Monument Valley.

> Android is still a single OS
I'm an android developer, there are differences you have to account for if we ignore the past (2.3 is finally dead) there's still difference between 4+ and 5+. then you have manufacturers that have their own custom android versions that have their own bugs, then you have community ROMs... I hate QA on android and I don't even make games.
>See I've never understood those old remakes, i understand people want them, but ... Kotor? Its story-driven and you'd need sound and hours of gameplay.
Yup, and there's nothing like plugging my tablet at my parents place into the tv and play when I come visit them 1000km away.
>What platform was 80 days on?
80 Days, KotOR, and Knights of Pen and Paper are hands down the best I've played. Monument Valley, Kingdom Rush, and Final Fantasy Record Keeper are also honorable mentions.
80 Days - An interactive novel more than a choose your own adventure. Comparable to Sorcery, but with better writing, better interface, and without the sexism and racism.
KotOR - An older Star Wars PC game, the port is quite good, and it's very playable.
Knights of Pen and Paper - A DnD style adventure. Good writing and very self aware. Published by Paradox, which have a VERY good reputation.
