Try running Advanced Task Manager
That is the one that I use all the time, it will show you what is running in the background and you can close them.
The apps do start up again, but try closing them all and then see if the ads are still on the unlock screen.
If they are gone, then wait until apps start loading up again and the ads come back, then open advanced task manager again and see what is running. Might have to close 1 or a few at a time to work out what might be putting them there.
250+ here, too. I don't know where they come from, but they're (t)here xD
When I had lags, I just checked a Taskmanager (just like in windows) and knew where the culprit was, maybe it helps you too.
I used this app
Download 'Advanced Task Manager' and use it to close all the apps running in the background.
Unfortunatly some of the apps will start up again and use battery in the background.
Have you looked at the battery information in the settings to see what is using the battery? Mine used to last around 6-8 hours and then started to use Advanced Task Manager and got rid of some apps that kept showing up in there in the background, now my battery lasts around 22 hours.
Get rid of Avast on your phone, you don't need it.
I used to use 'Cleaning' apps too, ones that close apps running in the background, they are not good, remove any that you have.
The only one that I have found works and doesn't slow your phone down was Advanced Task Manager
That's the unfortunate thing about Android, apps will just start up without you even starting them, even closing them they can start up again.
I also used to use something called 'App Freezer', but haven't used it in a long time and forget which one it is that I use, but it basically will 'Freeze' what apps you select (it can mess up your phone so if you use it be careful what you freeze). The apps will not run until you start them again.
But honestly, the only way to keep apps from slowing your phone down, remove them. It's the only way. Use Advanced Task Manager to see what is running, uninstall those apps.
Logged into the same Google Play account?
Time to open Google Dashboard (google it) and see the security section at the bottom, Security Checkup.
You must have an app on there that is recording conversations and then being synced through something, Most likely Google Cloud, because it will create backups and if he has the password to login to it, it can sync on another device.
You could also try running Advanced Task Manager

Which might pick up what app is doing it running in the background. Go through the list of apps that are picked up by it.
Use Advanced Task Manager there are apps that run in the background and can slow down your phone, use your battery in the background (but they shouldn't cause the battery percentage to drop so drastically), it's worth using the app to close them, stop them using battery, stop them spying on you.
Hmmm. I don't really know how to determine such, however you might try to get some of "Task managers" from market which will hopefully get you a list of currently running apps....
That one that I've used last time was really nice (Play market link though) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.taskmanager
Or maybe this...task killer, read more in description

you can still access it with any provider (I think I read it here somewhere), just search for it in the sub ELSE use Advanced Task Manager :D
I am using this for nexus player: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.taskmanager
You need to use the Side Load Launcher to be able to access it though.
Try installing Advanced Task Manager ..Set it to what you like. I have it set to auto-kill background apps when i lock the phone.
I had a problem with my battery life getting abysmal on my M7, so bad it would barely charge anymore or take all night to charge. Turns out some background processes of my apps were pegging the CPU, wasting my battery and causing it to run slower than normal.
I use a program called Advanced Task Manager and it seems to help detect when that happens and lets you kill the processes.
You might want to give it a try.
