Reads out your notifications for you. Great when Im on the bike, driving or otherwise cant use my phone but want to be able to make sure Im not missing anything urgent.
Its real power is its flexibility, you can configure its active hours, whether it only works on wired or bluetooth headphones or even without headphones connected per app, exclude apps or keys words on a per app basis.
I use Audify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.codeseed.audify
Easily configured. It works best if you plug your phone into an aux jack or use Bluetooth and tell it to read notifications when those are connected. You can also tell it to only read it certain apps (e.g. just read texts).
Audify Notification Reader - Drive safe and enjoy distraction free music.

It reads notifications using text to speech engine and provides multiple options to configure the content and also to filter based on content and apps which are posting notifications. It is one of my hobby project and I am working on it in my free time for the last two years. It would be great to get some feedback from fellow developers to improve it.
Here is a blog post that i wrote about it “Part I — Audify Version 1.0 - Idea to App in 90 days” @balachandarkm https://medium.com/@balachandarkm/audify-version-1-0-idea-to-app-in-90-days-part-i-e33faa1e11c7

Have you tried Audify?
Audify reads notifications, and has per app settings. It does it as the notification arrives, from memory.

I think you're looking for this.
For notifications to speech, check out Audify. That honestly feels like a feature that is outside the scope of Pushover.
