Too bad they don't refund you because the developer was a douchebag. I bought automatic call recorder and the developer makes you set up an account and I changed phones and the fucker wouldn't reactivate the account. I've sent numerous emails to both Google and the developer to no avail.
Fuck that developer.
Edit: Added link to the douchebag app so y'all can avoid it.
Phone recording - there are a number of different apps out there, all with identical or very similar names. This is the one I've used for years, and I can vouch for it. It's one of the 2-3 apps I've ever bothered to get a paid version for, it's that good.
It saves all calls with a filename that includes full date and timestamp, and contact name (if the caller is in your contacts), or phone number if it isn't. The files are mp3, so easy to move over to a computer, and you can set the app to not record calls from certain numbers (eg spouse).
I gave up trying to find one that would work on my N4. In the past few months I have switched to a Galaxy S6 and this app works beautifully on the S6. I don't think I ever tried it on my N4, so maybe give it a go.
My calls are auto-recorded and then auto-uploaded to Dropbox. I'm prompted on screen what I'd like to do with the recording on my S6. I always choose Delete, but the Dropbox version stays there, which is nice to have that record.
It's just called "Automatic Call Recorder" with a picture of a cassette on it. I liked it enough I paid for the full version and am happy with the purchase. The big thing I never bothered to figure out is that the other end usually sounds a lot quieter than you do in the recordings.
Toiminut moitteetta, mun puhelimessa (Galaxy S4) pystyy ainakin tallentamaan suoraan linjalta.
For Android, I found "CallRecorder" (with the vintage cassette player icon) the best app made. You set it and it records upon you calling or receiving calls. I have tried many apps and these by far tops it all. They used to be on the play store but don't see them anymore. Here's the link from their app support https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord
Good luck
I use Automatic Call Recorder. It backs up automatically to an email account, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive (or all of the above, of you really want it that way). You can choose for it to record automatically or manually so you can save space by only recording particular calls.
It's pretty easy to set up as well. Here's a view of what the settings screens look like:
The paid app unlocking features like selective uploading (only upload calls from particular contacts) is $5.48, but there is a free 2-week trial at first to ensure it works well on your phone.
One thing I would caution against- I ran into an issue at first with the recording playbacks. It would play the caller's end of the call but not mine. I had fiddled with the recording settings and done what I felt would work best. Don't do that unless you have tried it already and the settings need to be changed!
That's about it, but if you have any questions about it, fire away. This app has been a lifesaver in the custody battle for my son (in some states you do have to let the other party know you're recording in order for the recordings to be admissible evidence in court. Please check your local legislature before using the app for legal purposes so you don't end up with a pile of proof you can't use!)
Here's the play store link. Cheers!
