Or skip the USB stick and get a cellpone app that allows you to download maps locally to your device. I use the paid version of Canada Topo Maps, and it's great for when I go off the grid. I also keep some survival PDFs on it.
Apparently the Leaderboard are gone for the rails-to-trails, and the other ones are only available to paid subscribers.
I've actually moved on from Strava. I never liked its interface, and the Leaderboards didn't appeal to me. I've now completely switched over to Canada Topo Maps app, which allows you to use any public map layers, including official topos, the OpenMap series, as well as Google & Bing maps & aerial views. If you get the paid version, you can even download layers to your phone for offline use.
The one downside to that app compared to Strava is that it doesn't (currently) sense who you've stopped, then auto-pause the track recording. That means if you want to take a break, you have you pause the recording manually. That's pretty much a non-issue for me, because I don't care about my times.
I use a great Android app called Canada Topo Maps, which is free for the basic version. It has several different layers available, including the 1:50000 CanTopo topographic map. I paid a bit for the version that allows maps to be downloaded and stored locally, which is handy for when I go off the grid in places like the Cape Breton Highlands.
Aside from that, I believe the map store on the waterfront (Maps & More) has a wide selection of topos.
If you find the park maps lacking or need to see what connects between parks, OpenCycleMap.org has most of the trails, some with names. I use an app on my phone that views and stores these maps offline (so you don't need an internet connection) and can then see where you are with the GPS location.
The app I use is Canada Topo Maps Pro, for Android. Here is the free version (which does not allow for downloading the maps for use without internet connection): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atlogis.camaps.free&hl=en
A few years ago I had an iPhone and used this app: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/topo-maps/id306014271?mt=8
I don't know if it would suit the task, as I don't know if it details the trails. If you search for an app, the key feature (aside from using maps that include the trails) is called offline, that is, the ability to store maps on the phone.
Totally my pleasure. It's a great country we've got here and there's plenty to share.
A couple more tips...
This site looks good for trip-planning purposes:

Dunno if you have an iOS device, but this app is wonderful for venturing out of town in Canada. Free download, free 1:50k and 1:250k topo maps, and it even works when you don't have coverage.

Looks like something similar is available for Android. Don't know if it's from the same developer though.

Let me know when you've worked out a quasi-itinerary and I'll see if I can recall some of the highlights of my previous trips. Cheers.
