If that's the feature you want then WordWeb is excellent. It similarly has wildcard search, local database(~60MB). Additional features - customizable definition view(show/hide antonyms, synonyms etc.), alternative words( in Australian, Canadian, British and American), random any/common word(access from definition view), bookmarks, open word in wikipedia, wictionary, google. There are more comprehensive paid dictionaries from the same developer if you need them.
You can take action on selected text directly. I use it with Google Translate and WordWeb (for dictionary lookup).
Haven't found anything better than WordWeb. Works offline and has zero ads and is as minimal as an app can be. If yiu're looking for a FOSS alternative, you can try Aard 2 (available on fdroid).
I was pretty pumped to recently notice that, of the apps I have installed with a pay option (either for a pro version or to remove ads), I have bought every single one. The others were monetized via other methods, à la Google, or were simply free, such as the fantastic WordWeb dictionary.
I really like this app called wordweb. It's a nicely designed app that does not display ads.
MobiSystems? No thanks. I'll stick with WordWeb.
As u/GuPanzu already mentioned, try WordWeb, it's by far the best dictionary app, and it's completely free.
Try WordWeb instead.
Try Word Web. Link is from the play store.
Wordweb, it downloads everything on first step.
