For those of you in the US, the American Red Cross has an excellent first aid app, along with several other disaster specific apps you may find useful

First Aid & CPR Instructor here. Everybody should have this app on their phone (in addition to taking a local class)! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cube.arc.fa "First Aid: American Red Cross"
Great job Dad! 馃槉
They're both Android, but I'm sure Apple has them too. Just look for the ones by the Red Cross.

Really cool, thank you!
NINJA EDIT: Rats, looks like the British Red Cross app is region locked; can't install in the USA.

> Make sure you know some basic first aid stuff and find out if there is a health line you can call.
As an addendum to this tip, grab the Red Cross app - it's free and pretty well made:
In my city it can take up to 5 minutes for a 911 operator to even answer. They鈥檙e really understaffed.

I'm on Android and have the Red Cross app. It seems fine, but it's not focused on wilderness first aid, so it may not be as useful as something else out there for this use case. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cube.arc.fa
Great advice... I'm going to jump on your comment to reccomend everyone download the first aid app from the Red Cross. It has all you need to know and means you don't have to memorize what to do.

The Red Cross First Aid app.
It has preparatory and emergency information for common first aid emergencies (i.e. asthma attack, burns, stroke). It will also give you step by step instructions on what to do in a certain medical emergency and gives locations of nearby hospitals. It's an app you hope you'll never have to use, but you could seriously end up saving someone's life by having it.
