Can I suggest an app called Vaulty?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theronrogers.vaultyfree&hl=en
When you've recieved a photo through text or whatever, just hit the "share" button and select Vaulty. It gets saved in Vaulty which requires a password to access and doesn't show up in your file system so other apps don't see it either. It's worked fine for me.
Thanks for help but sadly neither app is working as I would like it to.
What I'm really after is something like Vaulty for Android
People should use this app and place private pics in a vault instead behind a pin. I know people shouldnt flip through pics, but just for my protection from random peepers I vault my private images.
I'm not sure if .nomedia will do that, just that I know it will keep them from showing up in your Gallery apps and such, so it won't be scan so it's quite possible that it may not show up under the recent files in My Files.
An alternative that you can look into, would be to either use the Private Mode storage that comes with your S5, Vaulty or Andrognito 2. While both the apps are actively updated, the later is much more advanced, newer and such too.
Always keep a backup of your data elsewhere though. Even if that means simply copying the photos/etc to your computer and using Winrar or alternatives to password protect the archive file.
Just because I'm a wise man, I'll give you some wise advice
I think Samsung phones may have this feature built in too
I use Vaulty.
Fucking, Vaulty.
Jesus.
How about Vaulty? Seems to be what you're looking for.
