Hamburg is famous for it's harbour, so I recommend you go to "Landungsbrücken". This is a place you can also see a lot of times on postcards.
From Landungsbrücken you can go by foot to the "Elbphilharmonie", it's just 10-15 minutes and on your way you will see a bit from the "Speicherstadt" (~ old warehouse district).
I can also recommend you to take a ferry and have a look at Hamburg. You don't have to make a harbour tour for 20+ Euros, if you buy a ticket for the local public transport in Hamburg it also includes ferrys. You will see almost the same, only big difference is that you won't get further information.
For the local public transport I recommend you the official "HVV"-App.
"The HVV GmbH is responsible for managing the entire palette of local public transport on behalf of three federal states, seven administrative districts, more than 30 public transport operators and something like 3.4 million residents. That includes all services by bus, harbour/river ferry and rapid transit - (U-, S-, A-Bahn) or regional rail (R-Bahn)."
Here you can check out how you can get to your destination, when trains or busses are driving, how much you have to pay and if you create an account you could buy tickets via App.
And last I recommend you to go to "Jungfernstieg" and walk around the "Binnenalster". It is near the central station and you will find a lot of stores there.
Have a nice stay!
Möglicherweise siehst du im Play Store auf dem Handy nur Bewertungen für die aktuelle Version.
On the weekends it runs through all night, during weekdays they stop at around 01:00 in the night and are replaced by night buses, identified by three digit numbers on black background at the bus stops.
It's probably the easiest to use the HVV app for navigation: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.eos.uptrade.android.fahrinfo.hamburg
To add to this:
If you intend to travel inside Hamburg, download this app and register inside it. The app supports the English language fine (I'm using it in English because I configured my phone that way). You can then buy tickets for public transport inside the app - usually you just buy the 9am day ticket because it's cheapest once you do more than a one-way trip.
If you want to go for food, especially from Bedpark Stellingen Hotel, take the S-Bahn towards Sternschanze (it's a 10min direct trip). Go south from the station until you find a nice place. This is the area where the Hambuirg left hangs out.
If that's not your thing and you want the touristy stuff, go to Landungsbrücken or Reeperbahn (different S-Bahn, ~15min direct trip). Food is worse, prostitutes might want to hang out with you, but that's what you get as a tourist.
From Bedpark Stellingen, you can have a nice 10-15min walk to the venue, so if all you care about is the event and sleeping, you don't need any public transport. Just be aware that the weather may be like it's in Britain. Though the food options around both the venue and your hotel are pretty shitty I think (read: Döner and pizza delivery probably).
Oh I can add to that. Hamburg has the HVV app which is terrible. It looks bad, it lags and stutters constantly, while up it burns battery like mad, and it doesn't register touches half the time.
Also, Hamburg is the only city in Germany "nice" enough to not make their public transit schedule available to other apps like Öffi. Because fuck you if you want to take a bus, use our own app no matter how shit it is or not. :s
The HVV app works great for this kind of thing. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.eos.uptrade.android.fahrinfo.hamburg
There are integration courses available, look into that. Even if you are from EU, maybe they will allow you, probably depending on number of registered attendees.

Good luck and enjoy the city! Get a cheap bike as soon as you get there. Hamburg is great city for biking around. You can find very cheap ones in good condition on Ebay Kleinanziegen
Also jobs are posted there.

HVV public transport app is very useful

As for jobs, look for Hamburg Facebook groups, often there are fulltime and parttime jobs posted (also mini jobs which are up to 450 € per month tax free).
Check with Amazon, they usually need delivery guys and language is not priority. But it is not a easy job from what I heard.
