I used this app a while back and it was great for quickly creating my own custom icons. I'm not sure if it's a feature of the app, but you could always give it a go.

Material icons are built in, font packs provide theirs via content URI, so not as easy to search. I personally make my own icons using Iconic Icon Maker as these can be bundled with kidapps and hardcoded into variables, then swap as needed. More work, but, better icons.
You have to remember the physical size of the displays are around 400x400 pixels. Just tested 50x50 on my Huawei 2 and SW3 both center and edges and i can't replicate that tap issue (using watchmaker on both). Taps work effortlessly.
Icons can be funny, it's usually best to use images the same size as the icon. There is a scaling option which may help, but i stick to using Iconic for making them, as you can adjust the dimensions on export.
I actually have the whole paid upgrade implemented already but I decided against releasing it at the last moment (I've also added a light theme as a potential upgrade perk). I'm only following my experience, almost as soon as I added IAPs to my other app, it's rating went down the toilet.
So I just want to tread super carefully with Timbre. Not to mention I didn't plan on monetizing Timbre at all so I don't want to restrict any features.
I'll likely roll out the paid ad-removal upgrade soon though.
^(Disclaimer: Shameless self promotion)
I'm the developer of the android app, Iconic. It's basically an app to create icons for use in apps, websites etc. The app currently includes icon sets such as font awesome, Linea, Material design etc.
Here's a screenie.
It's under active development right now, I'm in the process of finalizing simultaneous multiple resolution exports among other things. Looking to add tons of more features. Would love some feedback :)
Here's a bunch of other apps I've found to be useful:
I'm kinda nervous being the first to comment, but here goes. (Although, this app is targeted at developers)
A couple screenies. You know how it used to be such a pain in android development to find an icon, make like 5 copies and drag and drop them into the drawable-hdpi etc. folders? Originally, that's what I made this app to solve, to create icons, quickly and painlessly. Although now we have tons of much better solutions for this in android development (like plugins), the problem of creating icons quickly remains just as relevant elsewhere, most notably in web (and game) development.
The app has a bunch of (freely available) icon sets like font awesome, material design etc. You can customize the icons in a ton of ways and export them and use them wherever you want.
I would love to hear the opinion of other developers. How does it look? How does it feel? Are the screenshots ugly?
As it stands right now, the app needs an IAP to export images over 72px. That's terrible I know. Which is why I've been working on a huge update for over 2 months, completely rebuilding the app from the ground up. Among the upcoming (free) features are a brand new photoshop-esque layered editor, a dedicated SVG editor, support for custom SVGs, text (with custom fonts), images and a lot more (including a much needed change to the pricing).
I just realized that I can probably give out some promo codes, I'm not sure whether IAPs can have promo codes. I'm gonna go check and come back.
*Edit: It does work with IAPs ^.^
I don't know where else to put it so I made a gist with a bunch (50) of promo codes. Here. (The promotion is set to begin at 12th June 2016 +00:00 GMT, so the codes should be valid in a while). If it runs out, feel free to message me any time and I'll send you a promo code.
This is good one:

I just use Iconic to make them. 128x128 is what I used.
I've used Iconic for this sort of thing before
Iconic is pretty great. And Plaid and Design blogs.
Is there something specific you're looking for?
I use Iconic, make customized icons, put them in my dropbox, and then resize them using 9-path resizer.
I try to mostly stick to material design icons, for which I use the quick and easy android studio plugin Android Material Design Icon Generator. But if I need more customization the above works well.
