LG actually has their own app called LG Mobile Switch that lets you transfer everything (apps, photos, texts, contacts, etc) from one phone (any brand) to your new LG. In fact, that's what I used when switching over to my V60. I dunno what carrier you have, but the clerk at the T-Mobile store I bought my V60 at recommended Mobile Switch to me. Took maybe an hour, but I was able to transfer everything from my old phone (coincidentally also an LG phone) with zero issues.
I was impressed how thorough it was, too. Instead of seeing what apps I have and telling the V60 to download those apps from the Play Store, it copied the APKs themselves, including stuff like Amazon App Store apps (I had a few that I bought on my Kindle Fire when I was younger) and even an app I made myself in high school (a stupid little soundboard app made using a Scratch-like basic app builder).
Have you tried LG Mobile Switch? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.mobilemigration&hl=en
I moved from a G2 to a G6, the above app wasn't that great really. In the end, I plugged the G2 via USB into my PC, copied the folders etc and then transferred them to the G6.
> And I'm having all sorts of frustration carrying over my old stuff onto my new phone, they say they can't help with that since it connects with a c cable
Have you tried LG Backup (sender) to transfer your old stuff to new phone? I've used this on many phones and generally it makes for a painless transfer.
Yes I transferred from the s7 using this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.mobilemigration
Then use the usb a adapter that comes in the box and it'll transfer all your phone messages and even apps. You will have to re enter your user pw for every app though and lose your home screen layout
You might be able to use this:

The problem is the Google restore doesn't bring over saved game data. This is why I really only play games with cloud support now.
I used the LG Software that came with my phone to do it. Just keep in mind that it'll replace any texts you sent from your G4, not add the ones from your old phone onto them.
What phone are u transferring to?
I been using LG Switch App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.mobilemigration&hl=en_US&gl=US
Though after switching to LG V60 in a year or 2. I wonder what are other apps to switch to future android phones.
For contacts and photos, at least, she can install the relevant Google apps and sync what's on her old phone, and then install them on the new phone.
When I go back and forth between my LG phones, I use this app. You may be able to find something similar for hers.
LG has an app too. LG Mobile Switch.

You can download the "LG mobile switch" app from the Play Store, but I find just doing a clean install works better.
I just used the LG Mobile Switch when I upgraded:
Then look for the LG Bridge software ;) Or this one. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.mobilemigration
In Google Play check for LG Backup (sender)
That usually works pretty well.
