It doesn't compare your stats to your teams, it compares them to other Reins at your level.
If your performances are statistically lower than other Reins at your MMR you will get less SR. This isn't perfect but it can help you get an idea:

Googled "Overwatch daily performance app" and this was the first result, interface looks like it matches up.
No, you just get the standard SR rank on the main screen, that's done with OverSumo PlayStore link. No sign ins or anything, just pop your Live/PSN/BattleTag into the search and it gives you a breakdown.
> I looked at some of the resources here but didn't remember seeing anything like your example of "are you harassing a back line as flanker".
I don't really have any resources on that. I'd suggest to figure out what heroes you like, and try to find a playstyle with those heroes that you enjoy, but also allows you to fulfill the role you when playing that hero.
For example, you might enjoy Rein, charging into a group of enemies and hammering away. And while that might be a good play at times, sometimes your team just needs protection.
As far as resources go, I think the best thing might be to look for individual hero guides, and see what those guides claim that hero should be doing.
Coming back to tracking stats, performance and improvement. I know I talked about the inaccuracy of stats, but higher stats do often mean better perforance, and there are some conclusions that can be drawn from them.
Here are a couple tools you can use:
All these tools also compare you to their other users (with in what percentiles you fall), but take that with a grain of salt. These tools are used far more by higher ranked players, which means that averages and percentiles over their userbase are a lot higher than over the games playerbase.
Edit: Also, im only a plat support main. I'm not really the best person to ask for advice.
Check out "Oversumo" it does exactly (and only) that. To add to what Tullino said below, it is indeed subjective and I don't agree w/ every counter in it, but it's good for a quick reference during games.
If you want a handy App try using OVERSUMO. I use it a lot to track how I average with each character daily/weekly whether it be Quick Play or Competitive.

On that note, I actually just discovered two apps that do that via another post today.
Youtube:
Other popular but less in depth youtube channels include Unit Lost, YourOverwatch and OverwatchCentral.

App - Oversumo (for Android, for iOS
I strongly suggest to start at the /r/OverwatchUniversity guides section and then moving to others. If you want hero specific youtube channels, I know a few. Ask for the ones you want help.
Overbuff and Master Overwatch are two pretty common ones. If you are looking for a mobile app, I also use OVERSUMO and like it.
That a neat app.
