During calls I (my cheek most likely) randomly hit the screen, so 4G might get disabled, wifi same, the LED torch turns on, etc etc etc
Also, apps that rely on the proximity sensor, like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.runtastic.android.pushup.pro&hl=en tend to miss some pushups.
If you google for "Xiaomi A1 proximity sensor", you may notice I'm certainly not the only one suffering: https://www.google.nl/search?q=xiaomi+A1+proximity+sensor&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-ab&gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=dVeZWpfcL-PG8AfXl7y4Ag
Yeah I could do 20 last year but I started working out regularly in January this year and it paid off. I plan to get to a 100 consecutive push ups by the end of this year. If my body can manage it, then I will get there.
If you're into mobile apps then may I recommend this app: Runtastic Push Ups Pro (Android, iOS). It costs about two bucks and I've been using it exclusively for my push ups training. I like it because it does all the rep counting and tells you when to stop and when to continue, allowing you to focus on, you know, actually doing the exercise. You can try the free version before you buy it.
Good Luck!
~~Firstly, apologies as some only offer less than 50%. Can a mod remove the "+" in my silly title?~~ (Can't be edited, I need to lessen my derp next time)
Take note that ALL "Free" apps have some sort of IAP: mostly to upgrade to Pro. Some are subscription-based, some are item-based and some are one-time purchases.
Feel free to report the prices you see.
OTP = One-time purchase/upgrade
