Depends what you're looking to achieve. As you mention those insanity or p90x workouts can cause injury because of the high intensity and once you stop doing those workouts the weight can come back on too if you dont keep on top of it.
Start off small so you dont burn yourself out. There is a great app called 7 minute work out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.perigee.android.seven you can do back to back workouts with that if you wanna get the most out of your 30 minutes. Couple that with running for half an hour every other day will get you on your way for a great foundation, regardless of what you are looking to achieve.
And as i said keep it light and easy to begin with, consistency is key in fitness and setting small achievable goals will amount to a big one when looking back.

This Android app is the one that I started using. There may be better apps or there, but this one was "Editor's Choice" on the Google Play store, so I figured it must be at least decent. I don't really have any complaints about it, which is about the highest praise I'm likely to give for a workout app 😅

Yo tengo un mes haciendo ejercicios en casa con la app Seven. Por default la aplicación te pone una serie de ejercicios por 30 segundos cada uno y un descanso de 10 segundos para pasar de uno a otro. Los ejercicios en si sonSaltos de tijeras, sentadillas, flexiones, la tabla, abdominales, entre otras, hay solo una rutina de gratis y cada dos meses se va desbloqueando nuevas rutinas con ejercicios distintos (a menos de que pagues por ello).
Yo alterno entre dos y tres circuitos por día.
I do not have a food scale yet, but I will see what my local store has to offer. I usually just follow serving sizes and sometimes even lessen it because I'm not that hungry.

The dumbbell set I intend to buy does have interchangeable plates.
Although I only use the 7 minute intervall training, this app also offers some running related trainings.
