Oh man! Does this mean I can finally stop using Simple Last.fm Scrobbler?
Edit: Well, it let's me restrict scrobbling to be Wifi-only, but doesn't let me restrict it to be Charging-only. That might be a deal-breaker. It depends how badly this affects battery life, I suppose.
You probably have the Simple Last.fm Scrobbler* App as well as the Spotify Last.fm App enabled at the same time.
Simple Last FM Scrobbler. Your search stops here. It caches scrobbles from both music player apps & Spotify. Been using this one for 1.5 years... No issues whatsoever.

In my case, the official last.fm app apparently does not save my offline scrobbles so I decided to switch to this app that actually does save and upload offline scrobbles.
In order for this to work, you need to log-in (duh), play music on the music players you use on your phone and tick them back in the app so that the app can detect scrobbles and you're done!
Also, ayyyyy I use Phonograph as well!
I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler. I 'pin' the app to make sure it doesn't close in the background to make sure it scrobbles everything. Haven't had any issues with it.
I've always had issues with the official last.fm app, and therefore I switched to Simple Last.fm Scrobbler a few years ago. It's never missed a scrobble - I've gone on several long (10+ hrs) road trips and scrobbled thousands of songs with it. It's pretty lightweight and can cache scrobbles when it's out of network coverage, and sync them when you're back on the network.
Simple works with pretty much every standard music player out there. You can also look up the history of your past scrobbles from the app itself.
PS: If this answers your query, please reply with "Solved". Thanks!
re: Last.fm
Prime Player is a fantastic Chrome plug-in which includes in-browser scrobbling support.
Plenty of scrobbling options on Android. Personally I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler which seems a lot less crashy than Last.fm's official app.
I use Simple Last.Fm Scrobbler, which detects music players and scrobbles from there, though it can still be a little wonky in detecting new or lesser used media players. Works great with Google Music.
I too would be at a loss if last.fm vanished, been a member since 2005 and it's always one of the first things I get setup on a new device. Hell, I only made the switch to streaming music once I had a reliable Chrome extension that would scrobble for me. However, the numbers being as they are, last.fm has become a very niche service with almost no discernible income sources. I wish them all the luck, but it definitely does not seem promising. Hopefully another service with an already established business model can incorporate the concept (and maybe import data) into what they're doing should anything happen. Though, I admit, it's a music nerd's concept and can't imagine it ever really catching on or worth the bother to most.
The App I use the office one for last.fm on every other app and I use Simple scrobbler for libre.fm and all my apps
You can use this to scrobble from most music players. I've been using this with GMMP for a long time. I have yet to find a better player for my needs.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
I find the official app to have worked great for me with Google Play Music.
However got tired of GPM (don't have a subscription) and I've wanted to go towards more open-source stuff lately so change my scrobbling app to Simple Last.fm Scrobbler and Vannilla Music. It's a good mix. They are both availlable on f-droid.org too.
You're welcome!
Don't forget to download this last.fm extension if you're using Chrome! And if you use Android, you can use the official last.fm app (also available on iOS) or this app to keep track of your scrobbles, even offline!
Good question. I believe the way it works is that you primarily scrobble to Libre.fm with their API, and it will forward the deets to Last.fm. You'll have to check your music player to see if it supports Libre. In my case, I use foobar with a sort of hacky way to scrobble to both at the same time.
On Android, you can check out <strong>Simple Last.fm Scrobbler</strong> which supports Libre.fm.
Warning: I use android.
I tried to use the official app for android but it's trash so after googling a little I found this one that works 90% of the time.
It lets you choose when to scrobble (after 25 songs, when you press a button, etc) which I think is a really useful feature.
When I'm on my laptop I just use spotify and I have enabled the "scrobble to last.fm" option.
Hope this helps
I think I found a solution! Simple Last.fm stores played songs in cache and uploads them to Last.fm when having internet connection. The only downside is that you sometimes have double scrobbles, but that should only happen when you have WiFi connection while scrobbling through Spotify. Edit: Solution to that is disabling the connection with Spotify/Last.fm
Not sure, as I only use the Spotify Android app from time to time on my Samsung Galaxy II and don't have any local files stored on it. That at least works for me, as I only connect it via WLAN.
I guess you could also check the Last.fm forum on Get Satisfaction for more related answers when searching for "android". The external scrobbling app for Android that gets mentioned the most is Simple Last.fm Scrobbler, as far as I know.
I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler with Shuttle+. It works in the background and I think it works with the majority of music player apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=en
I recommend using Simple Last.fm Scrobbler. It lets you edit the scrobble cache before scrobbling to last.fm which is very useful to prevent accidental duplicates and missing scrobbles.
You don't necessarily need to edit a host file to scrobble to libre.fm. There are scrobbling apps that work with both last.fm and libre.fm.
On Android, I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler, which also supports libre.fm. No rooting needed.
Use the standard google app and this app to scrobble: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
It listens for any media player and sends the data in. Been using it for years, never fails!!!!!!!
For anyone with an Android phone, check out the Simple Scrobbler app. You have to give it permission to monitor your notifications, but it essentially looks for media player apps in your notifications and asks if you want to scrobble plays from it. It's useful for scrobbling plays from services that don't have built in last.fm support. I use it with Google Play Music, myself.
> what do i do?
Wait.
Seriously. Mine sometimes failed to submit scrobbles too.
Fortunately my app have "cache" feature for unsubmitted scrobbles, and it will try to submit it until successful.
Sometimes there's server problems in lastfm part.
You are right, I am using pinboard as the intermediate step before storing a json in the DB.
//Individual recording in couchDB { "_id": "08cb0557e67a9d89ada74cc3a511d173", "_rev": "3-bdd0b2f38d0c4db02919fc10ad04213f", "extended": "", "description": "20: Matt Cutts, Head of Web Spam Team at Google by Cool Tools | Free Listening on SoundCloud", "tags": [ "listeningnow", "len=20", "pod=cooltools" ], "period": 20, "href": "http://tracking.feedpress.it/link/7810/529589", "meta": "7ad135033cb7100adf5f149ab3e0e32d", "time": "2018-01-08T17:39:30Z", "shared": "yes", "podcast": "cooltools", "toread": "no" }
But something like Simple Last.fm Scrobbler for podcasts will be awesome.
I trying to setup tasker. I will let you know how it goes.
you can scrobble offline with an app called "simple last.fm" which saves your scrobbles as cache, and sends to their online database when you connect to the internet. heres is the link ;) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Wail Beta (scroll down for APK). Unfortunately it's not maintained anymore :( but 0.7.5 still works pretty well. You don't have to do anything, just enter your account in the app and then it will watch for other apps that play music and scrobble automatically. I'm afraid I don't know which apps work and which don't, I mainly use Google Music and I know it works with that. You can give it a try, perhaps it works with Poweramp.
You can also try SLS (Simple Lastfm Scrobbler) (also supports Libre).
if you want to also scrobble on your android device i would suggest this app. I've been using it for over a year now. The UI is kinda ugly and old, but you only look at it once when setting it up and sometimes to check to see that its working (at least i do) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler has yet to let me down. It's free and works with loads of music players. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
I was using Simple Last FM Scrobbler For years https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&gl=DE ...but i hate the last updated
so I switched to Pano Scrobbler a few days ago, like it very much so far
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arn.scrobble&gl=DE
try this one, simple and reliable
Simple last.fm works great, and you dont/shouldn't even have the official app installed, they have nothing to do with eachother
Linux PC
Spotify
Mobile
iPod Classic running rockbox with laspyt for submitting the log
If I ever scrobble from Android it's with the Simple Last.fm Scrobbler
Radio
Scrobble Along if I'm ever listening to the radio
I don't scrobble podcasts cause last.fm's just for music for me
Simple last.fm scrobbler on android supports ListenBrainz (and is open source).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Android: Simple Last.fm Scrobbler will scrobble from TuneIn Radio and Podcast Addict. Should support other apps that identify themselves as Android Player or have support. As far as an app with built-in support, I'm not aware of any.
I use Simple Lastfm Scrobbler] on android, Lastfm Scrobbler on Chrome, and the built in one in Google Play Desktop client. I've been doing it for 11 years.
I used Simple Last.FM Scrobbler when I used Android. It works the same and better as scrobbleme on windows.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=en
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler should work. Amazon Music is listed as a supported app and it works for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=en
I scrobble with several tools:
If it doesn't scrobble, I'm not listening to it!
I would maybe look into Simple Last.fm Scrobbler. It can pull the music from Spotify and a few other apps. Link here
Have you tried this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=en
Wail is not really reliable. I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler without any problems.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
If you're only after a scrobbler, try Simple Last.fm Scrobbler: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Supports most audio player apps (that I've tried, anyway)
I use Simple Scobbler on Android, Web Scobbler on Chrome/Windows, and Web Scobbler on Firefox/Windows.
Hey, ok, sorry, I told you the wrong app. While I have Scroball sideloaded, I updated it today and can't even auth to last.fm anymore...so that's obviously not doing my scrobbling.
I dug through my TV apps and found it's been "Simple Scrobbler". You'll need to sideload the app, but let a song play and it should get scrobbled on completion.
Here's the play link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Result is https://i.imgur.com/My9uLy1.jpg
If you need help sideloading, you can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yablio.sendfilestotv installed on TV + Phone, then an app like APK extractor to share the apk file. Can alternatively download from a site like apkmirror, then send using the app.
Hoping this helps get ya going!
i'm using simple last fm scrobbler
A lot of people have had issues with Huawei, dating back 3 years (from the GetSat forum). The only thing I could find is a partial solution here. From what I know your best bet is try the Simple Last.FM Scrobbler (or try this link, I'm not sure which one works best) and go to the app in order to submit your scrobbles after listening to tracks. :)
Yup, I currently use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=en_US to scrobble so it would be good to have thst integration.
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler works nicely too:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
I still have a Facebook account and decided to check out Fella, so thank you for the suggestion. Either this app doesn't support multiple accounts or I am missing the location of that option. And only other gripe is that I do not see how to log out.
Also decided to give bitwarden a try, as well as the purchased apps app. So thank you!
I'd also like to recommend:
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler which as it's name suggests is for scrobbling. I use it in conjunction with Poweramp. It not only works for Last.fm but also libre.fm and MusicBrainz.
Muspy for Android is an app I'd recommend for keeping up with releases by artists you like. It can connect to your last.fm account to pull a list of artists you've scrobbled.
Swift Installer is another app I use that I would recommend. It allows you to easily theme Android apps as well as some of the OS itself. If you are still on Oreo there are more customizable option available, but does work for simply allowing you to give apps without night mode just that. Read the instructions.
check this out :)

Not an in-app count... but create last.fm account and install this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
which supports many music players.

If you're using Android, Simple Last.fm Scrobbler works for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms&hl=nl
This work for me.
I don't know what phone you use, but I have an android phone and I use the Simple Last.fm Scrobbler. I have it set only to upload the scrobbles when connected to a wifi. (There is also an option to do this only when the phone is charging.)
If you go to settings, you can find this option under "Website." Then playing music on the site will look like this. It will automatically play the next song from the list you used (like your library, an album, artist's top tracks etc.). But you're right that you can't make playlists and not every song can be found on youtube.
I use MusicBee to convert FLAC to MP3 on the fly and manage playcounts per Last.fm using Simple Last.fm Scrobbler to scrobbel from android and the build-in MusicBee scrobbler for PC.
Have you tried Simple Last.fm srobbler? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms
Thank you for the link! Even a simple scrobbler like this one isn't easy to make?
