Woah, I didn't know the subscriptions URL was deep liked to the subscriptions tab in the app. Thanks.
This is the one simple solution and it's way better than using an Xposed module.
This might help someone reading the thread: I don't use Chrome and was wary of it needlessly caching in the background after the redirect.
You can use the app URL Shortcut which lets you add an icon widget with a destination url. It doesn't leave a process trail for itself :)
You can change the widget's icon in Nova Launcher.
Found a solution (and possibly the solution I had previously)!
I installed URL Shortcut from KebabApps (they of the automation app, Llama) and lo and behold!
Now when I choose swipe action on the browser icon, I can go to Nova's shortcuts tab and there's a new option called URL shortcut, which allows me to set the link address and a label, and enable swipe to open that link.
Thanks again for your suggestions, much appreciated!
You can use Url Shortcut on the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.UrlShortcut It's quite old but usable. I haven't found a better one. Just configure the icon's swipe-up gesture to a Url shortcut and setup the page you wanted to open.
How about adding bookmarks directly to the sidebar? Via entering the url?
Alternatively any app that can create shortcuts to a url would work. Maybe this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.UrlShortcut
Not the perfect solution, but at least you can create your bookmarks for using them in any sidebar app yourself
The App URL Shortcut fits my need!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.UrlShortcut
I found this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.UrlShortcut
It allows you to add shortcuts to URLs on your home screen. Using the comment by /u/Sharknader27 this means I can copy a link from notion, paste it into the URL of a new shortcut and replace the https://
with notion://
. Now I have shortcuts to a few pages on my home screen.
The icon's crap, but most 3rd party launchers will let you change the icon of a shortcut.
