Look at the Square Enix section of the stores, or SNK. Minecraft is another good example. Are these AAA? Not really (I'd argue SNK/Square Enix are) but how about Ubisoft (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubisoft.adventure.valiant_hearts_ggtv).
That's also kind of the point. You've not heard of them because they don't sell. They don't grow a fanbase and so are doomed to obscurity.
I'm not sure, I've never played the Android port.

iOS although the Android version does have issues though according to user reviews and on Steam over 95% of 10,000 people recommend it. Too bad its not on Vita like Child of Lite which also uses Ubiart frame work and as do the Rayman Vita games (I think)
