Would buy if it was similar to this Blu-ray release Universal Classic Monsters: Dracula / Frankenstein / The Mummy / The Invisible Man / Bride Of Frankenstein / The Wolf Man / Phantom Of The Opera / Creature From The Black Lagoon (Blu-ray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008H33MK2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AABEHKN0290FW1MVQV3B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I did! I'm honestly not in love with them. They are cheap but I found getting the shelves to be the right heights frustrating. I basically moved everything to another shelf after taking this pic cause I wasn't happy with it.

I've been noticing Amazon Canada has just not been stocking much. Shrek 4k my pre-order just never came in. My Indiana Jones order just got "delayed" like Shrek did so not hopeful there.
I have been following a few others as well that are in stock in US and UK but not CA and just eventually caved and got Matrix Trilogy from UK for £30.
Yeah, fair point, but I didn’t say it would be the easiest. Still, OP can use the TV they have. Except, yes you need a blu ray drive that reads 4k discs. You can rip them with https://makemkv.com. It’s just an option if you’re PC inclined.
This is not a 4K film. It’s a 4K scan. Big difference. If you want the 4K it’s only available as a collectors editon and currently on sale on Amazon for $26 Donnie Darko UHD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VCL54JX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4G4VANB69YHVAW188495
Would this be a good 4K TV for watching 4K Blu-rays? I don’t need HIGH END best picture ever TV, just something that’ll show the HDR for a 4K. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BCBJP71/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
I don't think you need matrix switches. This is all you need, I think:

I use that with HDfury Arcana and the Sonos Arc, a lot of other switches don't work well, but this one consistently does.
Or try these guys
USA website who ship worldwide and they stock Blu rays from all countries
Happy hunting !
Black Hawk Down is good for the sound. Gemini Man if your tv supports the frame rate. It's interesting. 1 of only two movies out right now that have a higher framerate. I think it looks like shit, others think it's great. If you want to show people what your stuff can do, get it.
If you can get The Martian cheap, do it, there is a box with it in it that goes on sale every so often for like 20 boxs, get that one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Collection-Assassins-Martian-Kingsman-Prometheus/dp/B075QD58GM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=4K+UHD+Film+Collection+%28Assassin%27s+Creed%2C+The+Martian%2C+Kingsman+%26+Prometheus%29+%5B4K+Blu-ray%5D+%5B2017%5D&qid=...
The 4k's work everywhere, I got the box for around 20 euro's on Amazon.
Have any recommendations? Can't find one that specifically states will work for 4k players, most are for cd, DVD, and blu ray. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/Endust-Electronics-Cleaner-computers-262000/dp/B003EEMDMC/ref=asc_df_B003EEMDMC/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416803967659&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16564527664435368156&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqm...
This is the cable i bought Its a standard 4kx60 hdmi 2.0 Could the disc be mastered at 2k for space reasons? But 2001 and shining are both over 2hrs long and they are 3840
I'm not an audiophile so take this with a grain of salt, but I was having the same problem as you and found this sound bar. It uses a proprietary algorithm to identify voices in real-time to boost them (vs just boosting everything, or boosting certain parts of the spectrum so some deep voices will be boosted but others won't). The crazy loud music/explosions coupled with quiet dialogue was driving me nuts and this thing makes a massive difference
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088X4TTVD/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The giant set is this one. It's a good set of you've never owned the blurays, but it's very expensive if you only want the films, which can be bought separately (albeit without special features) for far less.
The 4k versions of the LotR films are quite controversial because they were quite heavy-handed with the noise reduction, which has scrubbed the picture of some of its detail. The colours are far better than the old bluray set, while detail is better in some shots and worst in others.
I don't know if option B is from the same master as option A, sorry. Didn't see a year of release on the amazon page, but I'm on my phone. If it's pre-2020 then that bluray set will be the old master with the janky colours but with less aggressive noise reduction.
Check out the second picture of this listing - this is an example of what I'm talking about. They come in normal plastic cases inside of a cardboard shell, no slipcovers.
https://www.amazon.com/James-Collection-Blu-ray-Timothy-Dalton/dp/B01IQJ3LOI/
Many box sets come like this and I've received them from Amazon, Best Buy, Gruv, etc.
Not at Dollar Tree, only Blu-rays and DVDs. However, I did find River Runs Red for $1 a few months ago when I was buying some titles at Hamilton Books. Figured for $1 it was worth a gamble.
We live in a new age of Puritanism driven by the woke kids. Sounds weird but they are super weirded out by infidelity and any couple with age differences of more than 5 years.
The Italian release of Escape From New York is superior, amazon.it should send it to you but it will likely be more expensive.
I’ve always gone with cheap but capable. Seems this one is rated well and can handle what you’d need.
Seems like it's around... Is it just the lenticular cover and photo booklet that's the bonus stuff in the collectible?
I looked around for more info & also saw it's part of the Buy 2 Get 1 free amazon sale : https://www.amazon.com/Jaws-Blu-ray-Roy-Scheider/dp/B087677JSY, so maybe if you can find a couple other $20 4k's then you get 3 for $40. Keepa shows the Jaws 4K Coll. Ed. hasn't dipped below $15 in quite a while, last hit $15 in August.
True but T2 is their little slut. It gets like 5 releases on each format. You can't leave that film like it is lol.
At any rate, they might never change the color timing back.
So make sure to get the old bluray version specifically this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UFMKSDW/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
No major DNR or gaffe cleanups. Just the film looking how it always did.
Here is the Japanese version which is the only version I've seen: https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%AA%E3%83%9A%E3%83%A9%E5%BA%A7%E3%81%AE%E6%80%AA%E4%BA%BA-ULTRA-%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AC%E3%82%A4-%E5%88%9D%E5%9B%9E%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9A%E7%94%9F%E7%94%A3-Blu-ray/dp/B01N0QMU48/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=15...
I got it from Amazon Italy at 100€, still available. I think the MSRP is around 165€, so it's a great deal. Like 33€ for each movie, and that's like the standard for a steelbook in my experience, so still a pretty good deal. Resellers have it for over 300€...
A couple of discs where not in their place, but the cases are not damaged and neither are the discs, no scratches at all. Everything's looking great
I own the Steelbook from Lionsgate, but highly recommend you go with the Eagle Pictures version. Much better encode. Higher bitrate and handles the grain way better.
Thanks I’ll check those out. The seller is on Facebook marketplace in Canada so the currency is a bit different. I converted it to USD in my post. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/344600009910383/

Right now it is at almost it's lowest. Lowest I have seen is 65 pounds. Highest in the high 80ties. It is almost like gambeling because the price changes daily. Was 75 yesterday, 85 the day before it.
DiabolikDVD has it in stock.
Amazon also shows that it's in stock.
These are the 4-disc version, not the 7-disc limited edition. That one's been sold out for ages.
Here is the link to the Amazon page if you ever wanna get it, just check if they ship to you. They ship to Canada so there's a good chance!
https://www.amazon.com.au/Hawkins-Stranger-Things-Exclusive-Netflix/dp/B07M5R53XC very rare, by the looks of things, I'm, assuming they'll release a 4k box set after season 5 finishes.
That is the first release that made me make sure selling my present bluray is the right choice. I have kept the T2 with out DNR on bluray and older, warmer color timing, which is honestly way better than the new timing IMHO. I can't stand that new and very weird teal look. It's just bizarre for an LA film now. And the DNR was lol straight from the 3D version. It's a joke coaster in 4K.
I will probably never sell my bluray edition of T2 bought here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UFMKSDW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That is simply T2 to me. It's not the type of film like Alien or Blade Runner that can support such a new timing IMO. I'll take a look when they kill the DNR, but I don't really see myself liking it much.

here ya go pal. $17.99 and ANYONE can buy it right now. sorry if ya aint gonna get your coveted plastic cover. all the same, you are welcome.
Definitely check for smudges. Lots of discs nowadays are coming out of the packaging with smudges or residue streaks on them. I'm not sure if it's the plastic from the cases, shoddy Quality Control, or what...but it's a rampant issue. What works best for me is spraying a small amount of Zeiss eyeglass lens cleaner on a MagicFiber microfiber cloth. You'll have to apply some pressure while you wipe the disc surface, but I've found it very effective.
The bigger problem I've had with the 820 is the audio/video sync. I have an LG NanoCell 90 and an LG Dolby Atmos soundbar. I have to change the audio delay on the Panasonic on a disc-by-disc basis. Didn't have this issue on my XBOX One X (although standard Blu-rays were terribly out of sync...so part of the problem is likely on LG's end).
Fortunately, it seems that usually one of three numbers does the trick (60, 80, or 120 ms) and those numbers seem to be constant across specific studios and/or audio formats. Example: if it's a Universal disc with DTS, then it's 120 ms. If it's a Scream Factory or Paramount disc with Dolby Atmos, 60 ms does the trick. It's a pain in the ass, but I've learned to live with it. I just write the delay number on a tiny sticker tab and stick it inside the disc case.
Italian release is just under 30 Euros...
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0B2SGK5ZK?smid=A11IL2PNWYJU7H
I could get it... But I also am not that big of a horror buff... In fact, horror is usually one of my least favourite genres - if only because I find the movies to be terrifying.
Aliens is however something that I could get behind. But it's also not really the same in terms of horror intensity. More of an action horror movie. With a heavy emphasis on action.
>but I'm desperate to see his earlier Life series come out on blu-ray let alone 4K
In case this is what you were looking for (or perhaps you meant an earlier version of it?), I just picked this up on Amazon last night:
Sure, basically the more common StudioCanal/Lionsgate release has some pretty rough macroblocking when the shuttle lands at Mars. Dolby Vision tries to clean it up but it really just needed a better encode. That's what Eagle Pictures/4Kult did overseas. This is the one I'd recommend if you're a big fan of the movie.
Also I prefer the Fox Searchlight release of Braveheart over Paramount.
Microfiber cloths as others have said solve most issues. Here is my go to…. MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, 6 Pack - Premium Cloth for Glasses, Lens, Screens & More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0050R67U0?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_sfl_QF4BJQZG6B9Z40NSRD32
This is actually what got me into collecting 4k Blu Rays. This is a forum for the software I typically use to rip my discs about which drives to get. And this is the particular drive that I got.
My Movies by blu-ray.com there's a 'deals' section on the left hand side menu and you can sort by 4k / blu / amazon / best buy etc.
seems to be a new release coming (at least to Canada) in September:
Probably just a random part of that site's description, there's Amazon US pages that just went up too
Don’t the German releases use the restorations from Criterion?
It’s weird that Koch Media would release them with HDR but not Criterion themselves.
Link to the AmazonDE listing.
It’s unfortunate Koch Media was not allowed to put English subs on the discs due to licensing.
I’ve been waiting for an English release but I might just get the German releases now. Unless SDR actually does happen to look better for the 4k release…
Amazon Italy has it for 31.63 euros plus 13.54 shipping.
If you have an Amazon US account you can login with that. On chrome I use google translate.
The more items you order, you can reduce the shipping cost per item down. I usually order steelbooks from there and have had no problems.
There are no import taxes and the USD exchange rate is the best it's been in almost forever!
I didn't realize it was only in the UK, not sure if it'll come out in the US.

There are a lot of taller, but narrow shelves that should hold everything you have with some room to grow. Here's one on Amazon with a fairly small footprint that holds over 100.
When my kids were little, I had a massive shelf that took up a whole wall, but it was covered with a black "curtain" most of the time. Out of sight, out of mind as it were.
Also, I think you can be quite happy in the knowledge that we will not be getting another physical media format after this.
The Batman (2022) 4K has a lightning deal right now for $15. Probably the cheapest it will ever be with the slipcover included.
https://smile.amazon.com/Batman-Ultra-Blu-ray-Digital-UHD/dp/B09XN6FDZ8
The Princess Bride is available.

Aliens, The Abyss, and Tron: Legacy are typical ones people desire

I'd probably go:
You may be right, but some of their recent releases have a starting price of $19 and don't include a Blu Ray. Maybe it's because it's a classic film, but normally new 4k releases are priced initially in the $25-$35 range.

I saw a famous YouTube 4K tech reviewer using these so when I got my first 4k player I got the same cables:
4K HDMI Cable 6ft (2-Pack) -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP129CT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yes, Its available on amazon.co.uk. Find it here
After going through all of this myself, using MANY different cables, these are the ones you want:
[Ultra High Speed HDMI Certified] Cable Matters 3-Pack 48Gbps 8K HDMI Cable 9.8 ft / 3m with 8K@120Hz, 4K@240Hz and HDR Support for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, RTX3080/3090, RX 6800/6900, Apple TV, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084RFQPSP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GAY96EV9G27G749XQHMM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Since switching to these cables, all devices run at the highest possible settings with no hiccups or dropped signals.
Yeah, it has to be UB-9000, not UB-900 (small but significant difference).
This is the one I bought (I’m from the UK, but I’m sure you can find a corresponding model where you live): VINABTY N2QAYA000172 Remote for Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Player DP-UB9000 DPUB9000 Remote https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JZ6M2QT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8JNZ0DJDJP5NTAVS9K9T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I found this but apparently it does not work on ub820, found similar remotes on other sellers and they told me the same thing.
This is what I have. It’s slightly pricier, but I noticed that it felt quite a bit sturdier than other shelves I’ve used in the past. Looks a little nicer as well.

A couple of my longer box sets don’t fit (Skywalker Saga and DC Universe 10th anniversary collection) between the vertical boards, but I absolutely love them for my regular Blu rays and 4k’s.
The absolute best shelves on the prefab market continue to be the Prepac single single and tripple width barrister towers. I'm about to buy my third triple width. The shelves can be spaced so that there is ZERO wasted space and blurays fill 100% of the inner area of the shelf.

As a former owner of the Skynet Edition and the 4K, the Lionsgate edition is the one I stuck with. It's still not perfect but it was the best of them all. It has a better transfer than the skynet edition but doesn't have as much DNR as the 4K. This is also the same disc that is in the Terminator 6 film collection if you wanted all of them.
Even better is that the 5 movie Jack Ryan 4K collection is $35 on Amazon (has been this price for the past few months now), and includes Clear and Present Danger, Hunt for Red October, etc
I'm know that this TV doesn't support "the" HDR and that I won't get the full effect but after reading the other thread I was hoping to at least get something more out of it because of "Deep Color". So what is that then exactly? In the other thread someone wrote that it's LG's version of HDR but that still leaves the question if a 4K blu-ray has to actually support it.
What's bad about using the PS5 for playing 4K blu-rays? Btw, I've got this HDMI 2.0 cable.
This is the only drive that I have seen that is mac compatible: https://amazon.com/dp/B0843MV9C6
The only issue is that you need software that will actually play a 4K Disc. I don't know of any software that does for the mac.
For Blu-ray, I have seen VLC work with a drive, you'll need to do some google searching for the solution. Alternatively, you can use the macgo bluray player software.
I'm no expert, or techie. All I can say is for me it looked awesome on my 77" lg c1. In particular though, according to the reviews, the studio canal version has the best transfer. This one https://www.amazon.com/The-Fifth-Element-4K-Blu-ray/dp/B085K66LFW
Thanks man, the protection is from Amazon linked below. I tried this one and Malko, and Malko is just way too small and it damaged one of my steelbooks when I tried to slide it in there. The one I get now sometimes breaks up top, but I would rather the case break instead of damaging the steelbook. If you look at my Star Wars steelbook in the first picture there are magnets on the bottom holding them up. I tried without the magnets at first and they would fall like dominos by themselves lol. Now they are very sturdy and only fall if someone bumps into the movies.

I really like this movie so I will pre-order from Amazon Italy once pre-order is up. Italy also already has an official BR release.
Go with a certified cable. My cable of choice are these:
Monoprice 8K Certified Braided Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable - 6 Feet - Black | 48Gbps, Compatible With Sony PS5, Microsoft Xbox Series X & Series S https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X6X5FC3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_JG3CGJN0HTY2WJVTBTYT?psc=1
You don't need Ultra High Speed for 4K Blu Ray, but it'll future proof you for any HDMI 2.1 applications you may have down the line.
Nice looking set -- I'm assuming the actual movies are identical to the other set on Amazon?
I would highly recommend ordering it from Amazon Italy - everything is the same as the US release, excerpt the box text is in Italian.
As there is no such box set available (or seemingly even planned) for the UK market, this is the best value option for all four films in 4K (even more so than the US release).
Yup, I use this Monoprice cable (in various lengths) for all my HDMI needs. It's overkill for some devices, but the price and quality is great and I'm future proofed for quite a while.
I expect they're clearing out current stock to make room for the newly-announced 5 film collection. I already have the NTTD Steelbook, so this is a great way for me to upgrade my BluRays of previous movies!
The French version is still available. The menus are in English and there shouldn’t be any region locking. It also comes with the 3D version. It does not come with a digital code like the US version though.
Baraka & Samsara... Even the Baraka Blu-ray shows it was mastered at friggin 8k!! Unless they're working on an Atmos track, the 4k disc should practically print itself (ok, HDR work too but that wouldn't take as long as the sound mixing).

Personally I'd recommend this remote if using your PS5 as a dedicated blu-ray player as it's a much better option IMO for using the blu-ray player. The PS5 media remote is fine if you're only using the streaming services on the PS5, but it's a massive step down from the remote I linked for blu-ray playback.

This Sony is the least expensive option I would consider at $150.
Folks prefer the Panasonic but I don’t recall the model. this is $160.
I have neither player, but was reading up on options recently when I thought mine was dying. The above are the two cheapest I’d have considered. The one I was going to go with, the Sony 800m2 seems either out of stock or discontinued.
Physical 4k is a niche within a niche within a niche. I’m not personally expecting any growth in this price tier… and wouldn’t trust anything cheaper unless these two models get steeply discounted. Could be worth pasting those links into Camelcamelcamel to see their price histories and/or set trackers if money is too tight.
Never releasing again. A new one in a hard black case comes hard in February.
