Wellue AI Heart Health Monitor,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098JY8DS3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.
This monitor you wear not like Kardia. You can also record ECG for 30 min. And send to doctor. It works with a app on your phone. You can view heart rate at any time thru your phone. Cost is around $300.00 Great tool to have with afib.
I take it. Magnesium is used in over 400 different bodily functions and heart rhythm is one of them. The problem is that Magnesium also acts as a laxative and too much of it confines you forever in the bathroom.
I recommend Magnesium Glycinate. Take it with a meal and on the weekends. Glycinate is the one that is most absorbable. Pass on Magnesium Oxide. It's just a laxative.
>Thank you for your replay and I’ll look that YouTube channel up. I should have said I was prescribed beta blockers and blood thinners before my cardioversion therapy. I’m still on them so at least I’m being medicated .
This is the standard protocol for Afib. I am on them as well and I still engage in light exercise, almost every day with my cardiologist's approval. No heavy lifting though.
Alcohol is a known trigger. I don't drink so I am ok there. I have changed my diet a bit, but everybody is different there. You will find out what works best for you.
Let me also put in a plug for meditation. Doesn't have to be anything exotic. As an app, I like Medito.
I personally prefer a super simple one like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Not a lot of frills, you just tap to add an automatically date-stamped note and type in the details. Has calendar view so you can easily see how many episodes you had over time and then tap on each one for the details.
I tried more complex journal apps, this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bearable was ok and I've heard other people say it's great for overall health monitoring, just way more than what I needed.
I read a book called My Heart Palpitations 97% cured.. He essentially gave up everything. LOL!
My Electrophysiologist says he doesn't really subscribe to the "triggers theory" because it varies so much, but says something seems to kick it off. For me, I think it is stress, coffee and that I am a bad sleeper and always have been. My weight is fine, I don't smoke and I don't drink. I may also have a genetic predisposition to this. Who knows?
I take Magnesium Taurate occasionally, Ashwaganda, Hawthorn Berry, Vitamin C and Vitamin D. I also meditate at least once a day for about 15 minutes.
Understand that Afib has no cure according to my EP, but it can be "managed".
>Anyways they put me on metoprolol, does anyone have experience with this specific med?
Most of us. Metoprolol is a beta blocker and usually the first line of defense for Afiib. It's a very common prescription. 25 mg is nothing. I am on 100 mg every day.
The only side effect that I have is that it makes me a little tired so I take it at night after dinner.
I recommend Heart Rhythm Problems if you have time. It tells you everything you'd want to know.
Relax, I know it's scary, but millions of people live with Afib. There is no cure, but it can be managed.
Heart Rhythm Problems is a great book, if you have time.
