I don't know if this would satisfy you but ColorNote is always my go to app for notes besides the stock S-Memo.
I use color note and it sounds very similar to what you are describing and has back up if you set it up with your google account.

I really like ColorNote, it did everything I wanted with a clean, yet highly functional, interface. However, I started to get a warning that it had allowed a trojan so I (sadly) deleted it. I'm using an older T-Mobile MyTouch (HTC Glacier) running a hideously outdated Gingerbread with Avast.

Colornote
I am bad with organization and for a long time, always kept little notes on paper and that just became unruly after a while.
Simple app and sync features, I've used it a ton to reference back to something.
For real. I used to use ColorNote way back before Keep. I might have to check it out again. I've lost count how many times items have been missed because they've disappeared from Keep.
i've sent this to Google as a feature request in the past. i've often had to use ColorNote (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note) as an alternative to achieve this--a widget for a specific note. it doesn't show the whole thing if it's too long, of course, and it won't let you scroll down without opening it. but at least it uses the whole widget.
i hope somebody has a proper Keep-only option for you--this is an essential feature, IMO.
also, random hug from a random stranger.
I want a recommendation for a note taking/checklist app.
I have been using ColorNote for several years which fills many of the necessary boxes that one requires from a notes app but it doesn't have the following:
One of the features I really like is that you can make a widget for a specific note/checklist so you can keep a important note/list on on your home screen without it getting buried. I really love this feature.
Please share your preferences as well, I really want a web-client based app but don't which is one of the better ones.
I love that about it, too. GoogleKeep has a ton of functions, but it's laggy (especially as I add more content) and it's a pain to even open the app &wait for things to load, sometimes I forget what I was trying to record.
Colornote is great. Options to change background color, black/night mode options in an app generally indicate that I'll use it primarily. Lightweight, loads super fast. Search function a requirement in any note app. Reminders. And pinning notes to your notification menu is so fundamentally useful.
Pretty sure it's free, also. It has to be, or I wouldn't have tried it.
My current phone is my first Android, after having iPhones for years. I've been doing Google reward surveys to obtain things from my app wish list. I'm willing to pay for another note app, but I've yet to find one that's better than ColorNote.
Link for the version we're using (I imagine the name may be popular or used by more than one app. Just in case here's a link.) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
ColorNote could probably do this, but it isn't build for collaborative work. It supports cloud sync, so you could build a workaround and use the same sync account on both devices. It's definitely not the best solution, but it should at least work if you don't plan to use the app for other notes as well. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
The Widget is called Colornote. I think I might try a news widget, or some type of media widget just to keep up with everything. Thanks.
i've had dso many people say this that i used to buy a 5subject notebook to write down everything or if i'm looking up stuff on android phone, i downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note but there's no way to go on a pc to view later, so you'll have to find time to read on your phone
Sometimes when for whatever reason I am not up to bujo I use the ColorNote app on my phone (Android). Play Store LINK
I personally prefer a super simple one like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Not a lot of frills, you just tap to add an automatically date-stamped note and type in the details. Has calendar view so you can easily see how many episodes you had over time and then tap on each one for the details.
I tried more complex journal apps, this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bearable was ok and I've heard other people say it's great for overall health monitoring, just way more than what I needed.
No, not that one. Same name, but a different app. Here is the actual app: Colornote app
They update the app regularly.
You are right. I just make a list of things I need/want to do tomorrow and just do them one by one. I start small:
Make bed
Shower
Brush teeth
Put music on
Make breakfast

By the point I am crossing these minimal tasks off I feel so much more confident in my ability to do more complicated tasks this day.

One thing to remember is that you most certainly won't do everything on your list, which is ok. Nobody does. Some bigger things linger on my list for days, even weeks (I'm thinking about making a different list for those) But it's ok. Your goal is not to do everything at once, but to get accustomed to doing things and feeling good about the fact you do them.
So start small. In childhood when you got your first bike it had support wheels and only when you got better they take them off. That's how we learn, by starting small.
I, personally use ColorNote Notepad Notes app for this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note&hl=en&gl=US

P.S. Good job on starting the conversation. That's one big task done. Good luck :)
ColourNote - My favorite note taking app before Keep - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note&hl=en_IN&gl=US
ColorNote - Very useful, have been using it since I started using Android, now using it alongwith Google Keep.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
I've used ColorNote for years. Simple little app which allows you to create plain text or checklist notes. Sign in with Google or Facebook and it'll sync between devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Try this, Color Note. Here why you should download, I started using since 2018. It's simply, for you, you can sync your notes even if deleted. You can find it in trash can. I change my phone this year January, I still can view my deleted notes in 2018, hopes it helps you, stay productive!
I just use ColorNote on my phone.
But to be honest my cocktail recipe note is getting a bit long so it's not perfect. I should look for a better solution too.
Colornote on the Play Store or on their website
I've been using it for years on several different phones (an old, cheap-o LG phone I got for $90, one before that for an even older phone, and then now for my S10), it syncs well between them, you can add homescreen widgets if it's not on the SD card (or maybe they fixed that, idk), and it's a very lightweight, simple-as-can-be app.
I use colornote. You can add different coloured text notes to each day on the calendar portion.
If you swipe right on the app page of screenshots it will show the calendar portion with the coloured squares which are minimized notes. I use different colours for different things. Blue for pills, Red for appointments, Green for bills etc. Then you just click on the day on the calendar and it will bring up what the notes are.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Edit: spelling
The google services work just fine for me for contacts and tasks as it integrates well with the Google home devices I have already.
As to notes, I use an app called ColorNote for anything more intense notes/task wise.
In addition to Google Keep, and sometimes One Note, I use ColorNote. It synchs between my Android devices, and my Windows 10 machine.
I've had good experiences with ColorNote Notepad. Variety of features, simple interface, widgets for home screen, reminders for ToDo lists, fast and free.
I've always enjoyed ColorNote personally. It lets you colorcode notes and you can backup via email and/or facebook.
If you don't find what you're looking for, and coming from Apple myself not too long ago in the same scenario, I went with Color Note. It's the closest functionality-wise you'll get to notes.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Write. Write, write write. Write your heart out. It'll be depressing writing. But it will feel good to be able to express the self hate rather than keep it all bottled up. I write on my phone all the time, much of which is basically depressive self hate. If you have an Android, I highly recommend ColorNote.
You can try Colorpad
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
Or GTasks.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
See if it fits your needs. Other good apps in this category are Google Keep, Wunderlist, Todoist.
For notes - Colornote
Colornote https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
It's not exactly the same but probably as similar as your gonna get.
Try colorNote... It has option to lock notes with password.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
I use Colornote and Google Keep for my workout routines and to do lists but I downloaded just about every app _malatesta shared 😁. To integrate my personal Google calendar and my work Outlook calendar I use One Calendar. I’ve been using Beautiful Widgets for years and although it's a bit dated, it seems to work better than other weather widgets for me.
I use ColorNote, has a tiny widget you can put on screen for each separate note you create
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note And recently I have started using: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jayvant.liferpgmissions
For factorio specificaly I just use: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=8377&sid=ed08fc24c4abfff8a29fdc6e76e6ac24&start=40#p381489 Its not really notekeeping but helps me get the things running I need to have.
I'll just list my favorite non-classic android apps
Android has a lot of text editing options through the Google Store. The two below are ones that I use on a Samsung tablet and a Samsung mobile. I also use a third quick text editor, but it is mostly for quick lists rather than actual sentence writing (ColorNote).
I use a simple Notepad program from Panagola Software for most of my "on the go" quick notetaking and simple writing needs. It has 12 easy-to-access built-in "slots" that can be dedicated to different text files. Handy for keeping several files going at once; has copy & paste function to drop into emails or other programs fairly easily.
Another simple text option is Notepad from Dmitry Korotkov. This one has a built-in function to easily email an active text file without first having to save/manage it as distinct file. For jotting down quick notes without a lot of formatting, this might be a nice option.
Color Note - Simple, quick and ad-free. Online backup and sync. Sticky note memo widget...
I think you could do this with Color
I think it's this one
Hey you can check color note.. color note
colornote is the answer. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note
I'm referring to this one.
ColorNote. It allows you to take plain text notes, to make lists and it backs itself up.
ColorNote
I use it as a reminders, to do list, shopping list, address notes, notes for the future thing. It's quite simple and has a very nice widget that you simply double tap on to start editing. It's also free and does not have a million permissions that you can't understand.
